I worked in Marietta, GA when Lockheed was testing F-22's Everyone around used to get subway sandwiches and sit out by the runway at Dobbins. It was fantastic. my brother-in-law was a pilot in the US Marines. He said F-22's didn't "exist" on his radar.

Reminds me of my days on the uss ranger

As a usmc vet. This video makes battle ships look like a cruise ship. We were always tight to each other, the ship wasn’t always steady, disease was fast spread, medical was minimal, and RAS(replenishment at sea)always sucked because you’d have to be in line passing items for hours at times. Connection with the world was minimal and getting irritated of people happened real quick real fast. I loved my experience it was hell but id never wanna do it again. I respect anyone that loves ship life

We currently have 26 F-35s for all land-based and ship-based deployments. So our pilots and engineers are getting the very minimum of training and exercise on ship-bourn deployments. That and under manning are key contributors to the incident when an F-35 was lost. My opinion is that if you are not going to do it properly, then don't do it at all - it becomes a waste of money and gives a false sense capability. The original plan was for 138 aircraft and that would seem like the absolute minimum to replace Harriers/Jaguars/Buccaneers/Tornados alongside the Typhoons and also keep two aircraft carriers active. Unfortunately, I doubt whether we'll see more than the current order of 48.
