As an immigration law firm, we aim to provide as much information as possible about the U.S. immigration law system, how to apply for different types of visas and immigration status, how different immigration processes work, technical points about certain immigration processes such as waivers, consular processing, advance parole based on DACA, marriage based applications, ect, . . ; and information about new laws, executive orders, regulations, policy memos, and new policy initiatives by the Biden administration. We believe in sharing as much information as possible via this channel and our website posts and immigration tech tips (www.lawshaftel.com). Our goal is that anyone using, affected by or interested in our U.S. immigration system has accurate and up-to-date information.

Texas Federal Judge Halts Approvals of Parole in Place Cases

A Federal judge in Texas has issued a preliminary TRO (temporary restraining order) for the parole in place program. The order prevents USCIS from approving any PIP cases, but applicants can continue to apply (USCIS is allowed to continue to accept applications).
The new Parole in Place for Spouses of U.S. citizens was released today.

USCIS updated their resource page on the new parole in place program for spouses of U.S. citizens. They have officially announced that the program will begin accepting applications on August 19, 2024. The forms associated with the program will also be released on this date. I review the updates to the USCIS resource page and discuss what may happen to the parole in place program after it begins.
