Heyjude's Adventures
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 เม.ย. 2021
I received a Go Pro for Christmas in 2021. I watched others' TH-cam videos to learn how to use it and make videos. I had 'zero' knowledge of filming, cameras or editing. It's been a huge learning curve and quite the journey for me. Its also been a lot of fun and taken me out of my Introvert comfort zone. Most of my videos are filmed on Vancouver Island, BC in Canada. I love riding my gravel bike, walking, hiking and exploring. I try to include the history of the places I explore. My dog Rocco is in many of the videos. He is a Jindo X rescued from a dog meat kennel in Korea. I hope you enjoy my ramblings and little adventures :) I acknowledge and I am so grateful to live, work and play on the traditional land of the Coast Salish People and the traditional shared territories of the Qualicum and Nanoose First Nations. Proud to be Metis ♾️

Cool ❤
Cool 😎
❤ pretty
I was involved in building the Laburnum trails. The school bike club was contacted by Island Timberlands when they logged a large portion of the area. They sent a representative on a ride with the bike club to map our trails so that they could preserve them as best they could. I pretty nice gesture considering they didn't have to.
Merry Christmas
They didn't pack their brakes with grease, they repacked the BEARINGS with grease, because extended use of the in-hub coaster brake would boil the grease out of the bearings.
Yes, my mistake. 😞
We had to take the logging road out of Tofino last summer. It took 3 hours to drive 60 miles. Nice video.
Oh wow, that must have been inconvenient! Thank you. Thanks for watching 😃
That's a lot of milk cartons. Thanks for a great video. We hope to do that in the spring.
Thank you! I'd like to ride that route again, one day! Thank you for watching 😃
nature and frsh air are the essence of youth!
Definitely! Thank you for watching 😃
I'm 72 years old. Last year I got a new hip and a new knee. I am now doing more mountain biking than ever before. I just did a 250 mile ride last summer from Columbus to Cincinatti and back. I'll be getting my other knee replaced next month, and next summer I plan to ride to Cleveland and back. Most of my riding is on paved trails, but I do love to get off road whenever possible. I have loved bikes since early childhood, and now I am enjoying my second childhood. Never Too Late!
That is amazing! Most people would have slowed down, but not you! You must be very dedicated to your health and recovery from your procedures. Keep on riding! Thanks for watching 😀
@@heyjudesadventures Many Thanks. Tomorrow I'll be having surgery. Apparently I did that 250 miles with a hernia (Who knew!?!). Next month it's a new knee. My Grandmother used to call me "Old Man River", and I just keep rolling along. Be Well, my friend, and Prosper!
I hope your surgery goes well. From your history, it sounds like you'll bounce back quickly and be on the bike again soon!
I can't wait for spring!
72. Still riding. Won’t stop
That's great! Don't stop! Thanks for watching 😊
Awesome! WTG Jakester! - such a blast...😊
Thanks for watching!!😀
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching 😀
awesome video!
Thank you! 😀
Delicious in a toilet! LOL! What a neat place its now on my list! We have family in England and cant wait to visit this is way on our bucket list. We want to go to those locks and we want to get a boat that we will sleep on a few days and travel down the river. Oh my the chocolate strawberry looks so yummy! Oh my girl you were rockin out! Punk rock is back! Very busy city looked like fun!
I saw the toilet cafe on a youtube video and I had to go there! It was a really great vacation with my sister and niece 💕. I hope you get there one day! Thanks for watching 😀
Wow wait a great event it looked like so much fun to watch and cheer everyone on. You always do such a great job at interviews it is always nice to watch. Oh my goodness so much mud and water that was crazy fun. 😊
It was really fun to watch. I did one cyclocross race and realized it's not for me! I'm not built for speed, lol. Thanks for watching 😀
Hopefully you'll feel better soon and be out riding again! Great video 😊
I hope so!! Thanks for watching 😀
Looks like a fun event to ride in😁
Yes, it looked like everyone had a muddy good time! Thanks for watching 😀
Wow, thanks for the interesting insights. Love it to watch your nice video
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
It is actually South Bowser!
Thanks for clarifying 👍 😀
Stumbling upon your adventure video on my feed has been a pleasant surprise. Keep up the great uploads, stay safe~
Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching 😊
My family hailed from Berry Pomeroy castle in Devon UK given the lands by William the conqueror for fighting for him in the battle of Hastings .
Oh wow! That's a lot of history right there. Thanks for sharing. 😊
66 and still rockin the trail, road and wheelie!!!
That's awesome! Keep on riding! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♂️
I have been mountain biking for some years now (since 1993). Although the bikes have changed drastically, I have not. I try and ride 3 times a week. I don't see an -bike in my future because I still want the challenge from the first time I rode a bicycle in the woods. Please keep going, you inspire us all!
That's great! They are still all out riding 😀🚴♀️ thanks for watching, and I hope you continue to ride, too! 😀
Well done!
Thank you!! ☺️ 🚴♀️
Love the ghost effects 👻
Thank you!! 👻 ☺️
Love it!!! This was the best of times. Let’s go back!
It was a great time! The only downside was my foot issue! 😀
@@heyjudesadventures true!!!
I live there from night teen 89. Until 2000 the people that are there don't work for Boeing. They're from all walks alive. Ninety percent of the retirees probably worked on the base at one time or went to school there. Most people live there because they don't want to be bothered
Thank you for clarifying. It looked like it would have been a nice place to live at one time. It's a shame most of the houses are just falling apart now. Thanks for watching 😀
What an amazing place ☀️🙏
It really is! Thank you for watching 😀
Very interesting video, love to see the stones one day
Yes, I'd like to see more of them, too. Thanks for tuning in! 😀
I understand that kids would love all the human stuff in this lovely place, but honestly they wouldn't miss it if it weren't there. Most I know would love a chance to learn about trees and plants and the eco system - even a little bit. Kids are more curious than most adults I know! I think all the signage, chairs, (a sweatshirt? Ewww), and other items DO detract from the natural beauty. This is where people go to get away from all .... just my opinion. 🌲🌲🌳🍃
Ya, I get it! It's cute and all, but I certainly wouldn't want to see that on every trail. Thanks for watching 😀
Hi, new subscriber, I just found your channel and enjoyed this video very much. I will go back to the beginning and play catchup. Safe travel back to Canada. See you in the next video.
Thank you very much! Back in Canada now 🇨🇦 . Thanks so much for subscribing and commenting 😀
Wow, so magical! I liked the ghost 😊. The Stones and Healing Well are so amazing. Did you get a healing?
Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm still limping around 😕. Thanks for watching 😀
I have ridden bicyles since i was 8, but i only recently started mountain biking. Well, i call it my "squishy bike." So this video was encouraging. I did not hear one mention of an e-bike or even of any need to wear padding. Yes i have a good helmet and i am trained in outdoor first aid. I have never ridden my bike in Marin wilderness, but i have ridden my bike in Sausalito. I need to try it those trails. Where is the trailhead?
They are pretty squishy, especially the full suspensions! None of these riders were wearing padding. The trails were filmed at three different areas near Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♀️
I am 66 and a half and have been riding for over 20 years, still do the odd event like Salzkammergut (not the 200 km though!) and for me just being in the woods, chasing other riders on the single trails just puts me in a happy place, suppose it's connecting with nature. It's often been said to me after a 'big off' - "Do you think you should take up something less dangerous?".I don't think so!!
That's great! I hope you continue to participate in events and keep on riding! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♀️
I turned sixty-nine today. I live a Bike Life with my Trek Xcaliber CX, here, in Florida. I don't bother with a car. Last month, during the hurricane, I rode home from work in St. Pete with a 50 mph tail wind, soaking wet, and laughing like a loon. I am sooo glad I never quite got the hang of growing up.
Oh my! That must have been exhilarating! Keep on riding and having fun! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♀️
i am 62 and still ride and race downhill ,been on 2 wheels most of my life , grew up in kelowna and moved to so cal in the mid 70's to race motocross , then settled in spokane wa in 98 , still get to canada every chance i get
That's awesome that you're still riding and racing! Keep on riding! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♀️
I’m 68 and ride road bikes. Lately I’ve been wanting together a mountain bike but concerned I was too old, now I realize that is BS, will get one now. Thank you for this inspiring video!
@winfielddixon5166 I'm so glad the video helped you decide to get a mountain bike! I hope you have a lot of fun on the trails. Thanks for watching! 🚴♀️😀 Enjoy your new bike!!
So terrific--you are amazing and you should be very proud.
Aw, thank you! It was tough, and I'm so happy I was able to hike this historical trail. Thanks for watching! 😀
I've been riding bikes my entire life. I started with BMX when I was about 9 or 10, then moved on to mountain bikes when I was 19 years old. I've raced XC and DH, I ride all the time, all over the place. I love downhill and steep, rocky, rooty, technical riding. Currently I ride EMTB 2 or 3 times a week for about 15 to 20 miles each ride. Riding a bike is one of my favorite things to do and luckily my wife shares the same passion and we ride together all the time. I am 54 years old and I feel great. I am in much better shape than most of my friends my age that aren't as active. But I will admit that i start thinking about how much longer I can do this. I am always doing the math in my head, thinking in 10 years I'll be 64 and wondering if I'll still be able to ride. This video gives me great hope and eases my anxiety about getting older and riding. It's inspirational to see other seniors out there getting after it. I also feel hopeful about E-bikes and the technology that is still so new. I am lucky that I will be able to use that technology to help me continue to do what I love the most, ride. I know that my body will give out before my desire to ride wanes. I've had a knee replacement already so I know what it's like to be unable to ride because of injuries. It makes me appreciate my good health even more. To see this, and to think I could have another 20 years of riding, really makes me happy. Thanks for the great content and the inspiration.
Thank you! I'm glad it inspired you and reminded you that you have many years yet to ride! E bikes are great for giving a little help up those hills. 🚴♀️😀
@@heyjudesadventures I just love riding fast. I love riding fast, technical sections with roots and rocks. But I really love climbing now. It was something I didn't like, and would do it to get some DH. But now, climbing is a challenge, picking lines, getting up and over roots. When I first started riding EMTB what struck me most was that I had to use my brakes, going up the climbs.
At 76 this year I can totally agree
That's awesome! Keep on riding! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♂️
This video showing active older people is a message for the younger crowd to stop eating junk food,so when you get to this age ,you’ll be able to the same .
I want to eat breakfast in a toilet!
@@theoldladywives yes! It was so fun! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😀
Absolutely loved this, I thought I was at an age where I should stop acting like a child, but hey I'm only 59, have plenty of years left apparently 😀
Yup! Lots of years left, unless you stop playing and acting like a child, then you'll get old! Thanks for watching 😀 🚴♀️
55yo and been riding all my life. Hope to still be going in my 70s and 80s if I make it that long
I hope you continue to keep on riding! 🚴♀️. Thank you for watching 😊🚴♀️
Almost 60 , loving it and hoping to keep doing it until the day I'm no longer here!!!!
That's awesome! Keep on riding 🚴♀️🚴♀️. Thanks for watching 😀
What a beauty....my dream bike. 😍 I'd have to sleep with it... be afraid to leave it unattended. Respect No 22. 💯💥💫🙏❤❤❤❤❤
Which bike?! 😀🚴♀️
I was born at Saint Marie in 1965 when it was the active Glasgow Air Force Base. We left just before I turned two when my dad retired from active duty and moved south. When I was 18 my dad took me on a trip to Montana and we were able to go into the house where we lived. It's sad to see the condition of the base. Thank you for visiting and sharing the video. My husband and I will be up there next year and plan on driving through the base. I enjoyed sharing this with him.
Oh wow. It must have been a great place to live during its glory days. It was sad to see it in such disrepair. Thank you for watching my video! 😀

Thank you for commenting. I really liked reading it. That is so amazing that you ride so often, and enjoy riding the different style of bikes. I hope to have an Epic Evo one day. I'm still searching for a used one. Keep on riding and racing. I'm sure you're a great role model. Thanks for watching! 🚴♀️😀
