Tabletop Wargame/RPG Painter!
I mostly focus on Warhammer 40k and Kill Team content, but don't mind branching out to things that interest me. I started painting miniatures around 2 years ago and have come so far in that short amount of time. I want to share my projects and how I paint them for others to get some inspiration. Basing Guide: Desert! 40k painting tutorial using Epic Basing bits
In this video I show off how I create the desert bases I use for my Tau army. they are great for a worn down army or maybe something mad Max inspired 🤔. The cacti from Epic Basing (not sponsored) brings a pop of life to the dusty base.

I wanted to try something new for an upcoming Kill Team and figured why not try marble bases? These guys took me about an hour with an airbrush, but you could use spray paints or sponges to create it as well. Give it a try, I'd love to see what you guys come up with! When taking off the dryer sheet - do you do that immediately after last spray or do you wait until dry? Will it mess up the paint job taking it off too early?
@@judsonbates1359 with the airbrush or sponging you want to avoid putting on thick layers. The dusting with the airbrush is usually dry almost immediately. But I remove it right after I'm done, I don't worry about letting it sit

How "reusable" are the wipes? Do you need a fresh one between each colour / base?
@@DudexNOR it's been a while since I did this, but I want to say I only needed one wipe to do all 10 bases. I wrapped each base and then cut off the rest. I don't think I'd reuse them between projects. Once you put it on the base it stays until the end though. Not switching between paints.
I just find these speed paint videos so relaxing.

what glue do you use to stick mini to it?
Just super glue!
Is there an option with a brush? I don't have a spray and don't want to buy just for 1-2 bases?
I haven't tried it yet but could see if stippling or drybrushing can give a similar effect

What type of crackle paint did you use for the shoulder pad??? Epic!

What brand wipes did you use for this? Because I have tried 4 or 5 different brands and none of them break apart like these ones do.
I wish I could tell you. I just grabbed one from the bathroom. It's in an old Huggies container that my gf's mom just keeps refilling lol.

try drying them for some hours/days if they are wet wipes, then they should seperate better
Looks great! Have you tried his on any miniatures, like sisters of silence or space marines?
I have not I think on smaller areas it could be good, but the larger the model/more complex it is could cause problems. I could see it being hard to get the baby wipe flat against 3d models compared to a flat base. I'll have to give it a try though

I've seen people use a high gloss varnish at the end to give it a shiny polished look, great guide mate!
That would be the goal, in all honesty I just don't have any. The ardcoat does a surprisingly good job at giving it a great stone shine in person. Not sure how well it really carries over on camera.

@@zilpzalpmukkefukk it is! I was saying it is glossy enough, but I'm sure it's not nearly as glossy as what they were talking about
Really interesting approach with a foolproof approach. Would this be doable with a brush somehow? It's really impressive how much work those greens do!
I think you could probably use a brush in some way. Although sponges would probably work better. Right? Just adding that bit of color does so much!
Really nice, never thought of masking with a baby wipe. Could be used to make a nice cracked ice effect if you blues rather than greens?
I think that would be awesome for making an ice base! Now I need to figure out a kill team I can use that for lol

Even though we did not get this game on its originally intended time frame. I am thankful to level99 for doing shipping test and delaying the release of the game so that it could be delivered without damage and keep that integrity of the game without compromising the game pieces. Thank you so much for not rushing it and an awesome experience.

What game is this?
They are for a game called Kill Team, but can also be used for Warhammer 40k. 40k is a tabletop wargame where you have a whole army that you move around the different units and try to wipe out the opponent. Kill Team is a small version of 40k that's like a CoD multiplayer match but with rolling dice.

@ArtisticMimic probably more of a destroyed hive city, since the drukhari tend to go after the Mon-keigh (humans) for experimentation and gladiator fights. I like the naturescapes, but I chose the punk rockers of the 40k universe...
