Nah. If you are just starting to use bait asters YES Buy this Reel , its very good at reducing birdnest /backlash or wlse ypu will be relining more than you will be fishing. If you got the funds , very good reel and a very good reel to learn to cast these reels

Why wouldn’t you buy a reel like this starting out. It works better than any other reel I’ve owned. I can put it on setting 4 and give it to my beginner friends, they can whip it as hard as they can and it won’t lash. I’ve even had them nest my spinning reels. This reel is really something and I’d recommend it to any one interested in learning casting basics, or skipping.

Overspooling isn't as bad on baitcasters though, it's worse on spinning reels especially with braid.
@@Gstar5150wdym braid doesn’t hold memory. If anything I would think monofilament would be worse since it’ll just want to fly off ur reel.😂also the more line u have on the bait caster the larger the roll of string on the reel. Meaning the circumference of the circle it forms sideways is bigger. This is gonna change the way ur baitcaster feels.
@@Gstar5150that much string is also putting more mass on your breaks and lest be honest you’re not casting even half of that out. Putting stress in the breaks for no reason. And the dc unit in this case.
@@usereleven2797 you must not use spinning reels that much cause you can actually overspool mono quite a bit on a spinning reels, Mono doesn't windknot like braid does since it's stiffer, you don't really get windonots on baitcasters. With a fuller spool your also getting less rotations for each yard you cast, reducing friction and increasing casting distance.
