Alessandro Tonelli's watts, heartrate, cadence, etc. were pulled from his publicly shared powerfile and then synced with the video using Garmin VIRB Edit software and overlayed onto the screen. Even though other riders are shown on the broadcast, the powerfile data metrics are only from the Bardiani CSF rider. Video quality improves after the first few minutes - hang in there! Although Lance was in Yellow, few thought he would hold it after this, the first stage in the high mountains of the 1999 Tour de France. How wrong they were... Classic stage from a very memorable era... you know what I mean... For me, rain in the high mountains make stages like this even more memorable - much like Pantani's Les...

    Some argue that a lot of the peloton was on a similar drug regimen as him.

    One of my favourite Cadel moments ‐ the miserablest of conditions and the rainbow manages to relegate the shadowy echelons of junkydom to mere footstools begging for scraps at the foot of the podium

      Yeah because 1990s battery tech would allow a motor to travel all those miles😂😂😂 those bikes don’t have enough room for 90s batteries to fit in them! Provide proof or quit lying

    What an epic stage that was. Just heard Cadel interviewed on the Bobby & Jens podcast about this. He was very well prepared for that finale. He rode a short loop of last few kilometres over and over again as part of his recon so he would know it intimately because he knew it would be a good day for him.

    Such an epic stage! I think if not for team orders Vincenzo might not have lost so much time. A really brave and strong man performance after the crash. Let's be honest the winners were undeserving because the pink jersey should have been allowed back. Going to watch the Giro today and am hoping for a dry race because slippy dusty roads can also make for epic racing and the visuals of a peleton of riders whom appear to have shit their pants is somewhat off putting ;).

      Cmon, to say this win is undeserving in this conditions and parkour is just childish. Nibali wouldn’t have gotten back and lost time because he couldnt push it end of story.

      @@iscreamfitness Not everyone had the systematic program that USPS had, or as much finance, nor did other riders bully and attack anyone that spoke out like Armstrong bullied and threatened. The guy is a psychopath.

      90%+ of the peloton was sauced, that’s a level playing field IMO. You could give me all the EPO in the world and I couldn’t do this.

    • @davd1986
      @davd1986 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      USPS had more money and resources, the UCI hid Armstrong’s positives, Armstrong threatened and bullied anyone who spoke out against him and doping. He sought to destroy people’s lives. That’s not a ‘level playing field.’
