Really? Maybe share some trade art how scraping is done?

@@sto2779 We didn't used machines like shown in the video. Surface area were relatively small and the scraper was held with both hands and supported by the shoulder (see picture). Took me a while until I had the hang of it and didn't produced scratches anymore. Did this for about 2-3 years and moved on into electronics and later software engineering. The work pieces were already of high quality before they were scraped. The surface was scraped in a way that the tool could be used for a long time without losing it's required surface geometry and accuracy. I just started working with it and it does tend to chip at the edge when using conventional drills. Or maybe I don’t have my feeds and speeds right yet. The material is crazy expensive. That’s probably $100 worth of PEEK.

@@rexmundi8154 its not just you. i've had similar experience with Peek. its a really fragile material to be honest.

Basic scraping can be taught to an apprentice machinist in a day or 2, all the little tricks can be learned in a month or less. It's all about common sense and patience. You don't scrape to a 1 micron tolerance, you measure in microns but the tolerance will be several microns.

​@@Bob_AdkinsAgreed. The key word in your statement is "basic". To master the craft instead it takes years. Scraping edges in negative-angled corners, scraping 2 perpendicular slanted surfaces AND keeping them parallel to one another, scraping large surfaces in both X and Y directions and keeping waviness within tight tolerances, understanding and applying consistently metrology (cumulative errors), takes years. Patience , as you also mentioned, is a dying art. Not to mention that you don't measure your work by bubble levels unless your life depends on that, and precision inclinometers cost many thousands and you need to learn how not to screw your measurements (ask me how I know).

@@mihailfelixdumitresc The skill lies in the measuring. If you are very skilled at measuring, you can be very skilled at scraping.
