Still a good round, thanks for sharing it with us! And thank you again for the PA-2 you gave away, I’ve been working it into my rotation as my C2 putter and short approach disc. It’s a beautiful color, and it feels like a stiffer Discraft jawbreaker blend (and I’m a huge jawbreaker fan). Offhand, while you’re a Prodigy gent, would you ever consider playing a round with a mystery box submitted by your any of your viewers? No big deal either way, but if you’re open to it, I have a good eight or nine discs or so that would cover the bases of decent bag that I’d be happy to donate to the channel. 👍

That’s similar to my experience as a 53 yr old. I’ve gotten a couple of long throws with an Innova Mamba and a Lonestar Tumbleweed, both understable. However, I can get safer distance with my 7-9 speed fairways most of the time. I have a 3-4 mids in the bag, but the fairways are just as accurate if I just relax and throw easy.

I really enjoyed the video, looking forward to checking out more of your content. Played on and off for years now but never for long enough at any time to get very good. Just got back into it again in time for the fall weather, all the tips are appreciated. Cheers!

@50 mph arm max arm speed logic would suggest that something around a 7 speed should be my max distance driver but I recently set a distance pr (360'!) with a ridiculous 142g 13 speed DX Ape. Doesn't make sense to me but it easily outsails any of my other discs by 40 feet or so.

I can’t throw distance drivers. My fairway drivers can range between 220 and 270. I am trying to get to 300 but I feel Father Time is going to hamstring me to the 250-275 range. My ego wants to play the longer tees, it all but eliminated birdies….again ego. I love the game, but at 62 it is a bit humbling. Thank you for the video.

great video man.. im new to playing.. like 2 months give or take.. i throw everything forehand.. my backhand sucks.. i should throw midrange sometimes i guess but i dont.. i do fairway driver the whole way and backhand a putter to the basket if needed.. i could be wrong but my thinking is get decent at forehand and then figure out backhand…

Great video as always! Good insight with how seeing how your discs fly for you. I recently picked up an F5 in 500 plastic during the National Disc Golf Day sale Prodigy had recently. It feels pretty nice! I find that those understable distance drivers go furthest for me as well, though I picked up a lightweight (148g) base plastic Destroyer, and the plastic and weight make it pretty flippy, but the overstable nature of the disc help balance it out. I haven't tried it out in a field yet, but I suspect it will be my farthest flyer. I also keep a really overstable distance driver for utility/overhand shots. It looks like Prodigy does have some M1s and even some MX-1s on their retail site. One reason to throw distance drivers, even if you don't quite have the arm for them (like me) is that they don't need as much of a ceiling to push, which is great in the woods.

This was so nice to watch. I don't even know how to describe how this made me feel- Wholesome? Relaxing? Content? Whatever is most appropriate, it was good!

Just as a general tip, if you plan to compete at all, you should practice putting the same way you would in a competition. If you're not going to hold four discs in your left hand when putting in a tournament, use a stool or something to hold your extra discs, so every putt is the exact same. Or you could be like me and just play for fun and exercise, in which case practice however you want.

Trebuchet!!……..right on! I love the comparison. Impressive two ways…1) It does seem like a trebuchet. 2) That you know what a trebuchet is, and used it as a comparison to a disc golf swing. That is amazing….and super fun to say. Well done.

That’s honestly a great drill, I’m about one step below you (pretty solid at 15ft, about 50-50 from 20, wing-and-a-prayer at anywhere near circle’s edge), but it’s great to do this drill a couple of times a week, and ideally with some flat and some variable terrain and footing, too (like elevation change, trees, straddle vs “normal” putting, etc.). 👍

Not here for the disc but that Hex is sick! Keep doing what your doing and ill keep watching. BTW how's the compression sleeve work for you? I've tried mine but it feels like its too tight and limits my throw. Digging the socks as well. lol.

Hey Brett! Great video as always! The consistent quality of your videos makes it tough to pick a favorite, but the one in recent memory that sticks out to me is your "blowup hole 13 at the Crossing." It's very relatable to have that one hole that just has your number no matter what. I just got to try my first over-molded disc from MVP, the James Conrad Detour which blew my mind at how good it is, and it makes me think that I ought to give the Hex a try! It's awesome seeing your channel continue to grow, and that you have your own discount code to share! I'm happy that I've been able to follow your channel since that first or second video, and I hope that this is one of many milestones you achieve!

Hi Brett! I found your channel a few months ago when I was recommended your first Horizons -10 challenge (which has made this my new favorite video, it's great to see you complete the challenge!) and I have been loving it. Your videos never fail to cheer me up, especially after frustrating days or bad rounds. I have also been feeling stuck in a disc golf slump after a little over a year of playing, and your positivity about your own slump has been great to see. Even though you and I are in different stages of our lives (I'm in college) is clear that you are obsessed with disc golf just like me, and your passion for the sport makes every video a joy to watch. H̶o̶l̶e̶s̶ baskets with downhill tunnel shots have been living rent-free in my head recently, especially hole 7 at Fort Washington DGC, my local course. It's so easy to throw too high and send your disc into the great beyond. Excited for more videos! P.S. That Hex looks incredible and I would love to throw one like it, Madd discs really knows what they are doing, thanks for the recommendation!

Hey chief! Congrats on the great session…for what it’s worth, I appreciate your endless positivity, even when you “blow up” (like in the last video with the infamous hole 13, which is my fave). I think one of the things you do really well is that even if you have “meltdowns” like that one, you have enough control of yourself and objectivity towards the situation to kinda just let it wash over you and…well, I don’t want to say move past it, because no doubt that hole got to you last time, but you don’t obsess over it after the fact. You step up, let us know what you’re trying to do, the throws happen, you evaluate and give your reasoning as to how you may have either deviated from the plan or nailed what you were trying to do (with a bit of humor thrown in). It doesn’t sound like much, but with so many other golfers out there looking to clickbait with sponsored reviews or come in hard with hot takes on different aspects of disc golf, just coming along with you (so to speak) and just having a normal disc golf round is like my rounds with my friends. No fuss, tons of fun, and very relaxing. And if I get lucky enough to win one of your discs, I leave it to the dealer to pick the disc. Heaven knows I’m still not even a par disc golfer yet, so someone else making the picks can only help my game, right? 😜
