    I usually whip my rope ends, but I have two mooring lines to splice loops in today so I'll try this at the other ends. I do this stuff all the sime but I've never been tempted to back-splice. It's good to try differnt things

    When one ties knots one is making motion and there is a law of motion which was made by a very clever man who had a apple faw on his head and it says that for every motion there is an equal opposite motion and when one ties a overhand knot you think that you make a half hitch but what you will find is that you have two half hitches and if you want to see them you need to turn your knot inside out .a buntline hitch is two half hitches but what you think is two half hitches is not as it makes two overhand knots as as they are the same you got a granny knot.

    You have maybe nearly, got the splice somewhere something like suppose to be. Not that it is safety needed,there’s a lot easier and simpler method to splice. From an old rope splicer.

    This knot should only be used in one peace of cord ,and not used to tie two ropes together .

  • @bryantreacher5793
    @bryantreacher5793 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is not two half hitches but a granny knot which is two overhand knots ,but if it were two half hitches it would make only one overhand knot.

    Working with a black rope and a flash light at night but the worst part is that I had two identical ropes and grabbed the 'working end' of the wrong rope more than once. I also lost track of which way I was going while tightening. Maybe I'll try again in the morning...

    If this is being used as a heaving line it should have a weight in the middle of the fist and spliced back into the standing part.

    PLEASE SAY HOW LONG THE ROPE NEEDS CUT TO START WITH. AND, could we use the end in some way to make a loop handle?

      An eye splice could used to make a handle.
