I jad a few of those, then I had to het all the colico mini arcades thoese Table tops. Loved them then Arcade 1up came out . 16 cans latter still getting yjem but you do you hirl.😊
@RubyJones-zj4fu love the coleco mini arcades. I have a set to keep and a set to play. Thought about the arcade 1up, but didn't want to run out of space.
@lindaguillory7802 Linda they are so cool we got a bigger house so we could get more I kid you not.
Defender was my favourite. It started as an arcade game then went into a table top bar game and eventually a mini handheld arcade game. I just can't seem to find one anywhere 😞
@DeanoEssex there should be tons of the tabletop handhelds out there. Gakken has a nice defender. Entex also.
Great video! I just discovered your channel. Do you have any Horse Racing LCD games?
I will search my list. I can think of a couple, but can't remember their location.
Your video is very interesting. I like those LCD games and never have known how many of them existed, and how many variations they had (I like the silver screens the most). I have some of the Tiger Electronics ones, some mini sized Sonic themed ones, one of Battleship, etc., and it's cool to know more of them from other companies. It's a shame that your video has only 720p resolution. Me (and I suppose many people nowadays want to see in at least 1080p (or even 4K) for appreciate the details when we zoom-in what you are showing to the camera. I did that many times when watching it and always was disappointed because I can't see enough details. I really admire the size and variety of your collection. You should be the happiest retro gamer girl ever!!! I hope you play your games from time to time and show them your warmth☺️

That someone was me :) I was happily surprised to see this video, as I somehow hadn't noticed your replies to my comment. Really cool to see these models again, those were among the very first LCD games my friends had back in the day. I like how the brushed metal makes them look a bit more premium. The graphics of Plane & Tank are really fun to watch, I have the Radio Shack style model, still looking for one with the metal front. The one my friend had back then was red (not sure if it was silver or gold). The driving game has interesting gameplay with a slot machine and random items on the road (IIRC). My first LCD game was Cracksmen by Liwaco, which has very fast gameplay and is still enjoyable to play today. There was a whole set of these with the exact same gameplay but different themes. Casio made some nice LCD games as well.
@VectrexForever LOL, I really do take my inspiration from you guys. I want to make it interesting for you, because it's all interesting to me. I'm easy. Worked on two play & time games this afternoon. Fixed one and found out the other was a variant internally and with the screen so my scrap game wouldn't work for parts. I love fixing things.
@@lindaguillory7802 Wow, good job! Maybe you could do a repair video, that would be interesting to watch. EDIT: Wait, I watched videos of you repairing games already, I really enjoyed them, would love to see more. I love your story about how fixing your games turned into your career. As a kid, I disassembled my toys because I wanted to know how they worked, but couldn't put them back together. Later on I was able to also put them back together, which sometimes magically fixed them. Later on I could fix some stuff, but nothing too complicated. I've almost replaced all chips in my Commodore 16 by now, and it still doesn't work correctly :D
So cool!!😮
I remember the very first versions of these games (at least Plane & Tank, Space Alien and the driving game) were rounded versions, with round action buttons and a brushed metal covered button panel (somewhat similar to G&W games). They are hard to find now and I never see them in a good state. Also, AFAIK we didn't have Radio Shack stores in the Netherlands, but we did have at least one Tandy store, that I have visited. So maybe the Tandy rebranding is a foreign thing.
@VectrexForever I'm going to look at more of these revisions in the coming weeks. There's probably a lot more than you think.
@VectrexForever yes I definitely think the Tandy name was used overseas. Tandy Pirate makes sense to me know. It is a foreign version I could never find locally.
@@lindaguillory7802 I somehow didn't notice that you responded to my comment. I love the new video.
I had that Plane and Tank game! It was actually pretty dang good too
@LegallyInsaneGamer definitely not as easy as it looks.

@@StuartsTRAVELvideos Thank you so much
Hun you're supposed to lay this on the table and then beat the yellow button with your index
Just curious, how many systems do you currently own?
@sizernino not sure. I have a few hundred still in my "catalog" room. If I had to guess, I would say around 4000 systems which doesn't include any of the Nintendo cartridges. Original Nintendo is just 1 system, Nintendo 64 is one system, etc.
@lindaguillory7802 wow that's an amazing collection! Do you count specific models as different systems? Like a Sega Genesis Model 1 & Sega Genesis Model 2 would be one system or two?
The screen itself could be bad. Even on the later standardized Tiger LCDs in the 80s and 90s--you know that style--they fail, resulting in missing segments / characters. It could be poor quality similarly in these earlier screens, though, I believe this is a different technology, namely VFD. Maybe you could reflow the solder, using some flux as well, around the points on the PCB where the screen makes contact. It could be that some of the joints are "cold." Obviously heat from the soldering iron near the glass and plastic is risky, so I would be interested in the technique you employ to avoid damage. Kindly share that, if you do end up reflowing the solder. I'm not sure how that screen is making contact with the solder points on the PCB, like how does electricity move into the circuit. Maybe the contact points on the screen are dirty. Maybe you could use a lint free cloth and contact cleaner to rub the edges of the screen where it touches the contacts below. Something like BW-100 has worked for various projects of mine. Would you kindly film any followups?
Also, one other thing about soldering on old PCB like this, they can burn and lift pads easily. I noticed early 80s stuff and previous have this problem, particularly when I've fixed Atari items. Maybe raise soldering iron temp slowly and just enough to start melting the solder and don't let the iron sit too long.
@WhatsOnMyShelf I do like finding a cold solder joint. Those are so satisfying. 😀 Unlikely in this case, though. I may have some pictures and can post a short video of the board, but I've moved on. A boxed Monster Maze is hard to find, and that one is up for sale/trade (arm&leg), so I didn't want to mess around with it too much. I pull out an unboxed Tiger Jawbreaker that I'm willing to do more experiments on. I think you may be right that it could be the screen. Honestly, I wanted to play around with the potentiometer more, but since I don't have a replacement one, I didn't want to risk damaging it.
@@lindaguillory7802 I understand not wanting to fool around with the solder. With Sega systems, I've found that the solder goes bad on the AV, power port, and controller ports and they don't visibly look bad. Reflowing the solder works every time.
Thank you Linda...great information!!
@@sherryofford6634 Thanks for watching Sherry
Hi Linda, I am always blown away by the size of your collection! Simply amazing ❤ Have you tried adjusting the contrast on the Tiger game with the bad screen? Could be as simple as that - or it could be that the contrast potentiometer needs a good clean and some use to work again. Just a thought! Happy fixing and keep the videos coming. VFD games are my obsession, so I always try to watch your videos on those 😊
@steenfilskovandersen395 Thanks Steen. Yes, I tried to adjust the contrast, while the potentiometer turns well it doesn't seem to make the screen change at all.
@@lindaguillory7802i think the screen has rot if you look it’s very hard to see the top left and right. It looks mostly just green
Well that was interesting. It certainly helped tho because I could actually see what was going on! Enough that I could actually play it! I think you may need a darker polarizing film for the best results. Also you don’t need to install it to see results. Hold the polarizing film in front of your eyes and you will see it! Second of the screen is slightly different between the two. It has a drop instead of a frog as the player. I think we are close to solving this problem once and for all!
@vwbubs1170 I agree. I need to find the correct polarizing film and it will vastly improve. Also, I wish the screen contrast would work. Get this when I was looking for my duplicate monster maze. I found my duplicate lcd hand series monster maze, and you were right that screen fits the game also. I deleted that from the video because it was too long and screen had a bad LCD. If I find a better version, I may retry it just for fun.
@@lindaguillory7802That might do it! I hope to one day find one of these games. I would probably send the lcd to a place that can custom manufacture them.
@@lindaguillory7802That’s interesting! The tiger big screen pac man should work too! I’m hoping to one day get one of these so I could get the screen sent in to be reproduced;)
@@vwbubs1170 you can get these reproduced? I had no idea.
@@lindaguillory7802Yup look up custom lcd manufacturing and you will find companies that will do it! However unless I had one I real life I could not make one as I would need to see it in person to make a 1/1 replica. I think you may be able to get one sent in to but I’m not sure
Isn't it great when you figure out a fix, and it looks so much better.
@@MackDaddi LOL. The blown bulb seems more like maintenance than a fix, but I was happy to find it. It was like night and day after changing it.
Fix it Linda...fix it!!
@sherryofford6634 LOL, Thanks Sherry. You know it's calling me. I'm trying to resist, but it's definitely something I have to look at this weekend.
Awesome video! And some great games! For the tiger monster maze the reason it looks wierd is because it only has 1 polarizing film. I think if you got one or two more and covered the screen it would look waaay better. Also the capacitors going bad could make the screen dimmer over time. Lastly tiger’s big screen pac man uses the same chip except it plays the pac man theme at the end and has pac man and ghosts but the sound and the layout is the same. Hope this helps!
@vwbubs1170 I have some extra polarizing film, and I will try that. Wow, that would be awesome. Something tells me I will get sidetracked today trying this. It can't be that simple, could it? But now that you say that, it makes total sense. I got to check this out.
@@lindaguillory7802I’m very certain it would work if you switch the polarizing film around on the monster chase it would probably look like the tiger one! Really excited to see if it makes a difference
So cool. What I like most about your collection is your knowledge of the history and how they may or may not interconnect. Continued inspiration.

Coleco Pacman is one of my first loves so I like any Pac Man game. I may show the entex when I show the handheld Pac man.

Most likely. I have three people interested in buying the whole thing, but as I'm not "motivated" to sell I'm not sure if they will offer a reasonable price. I also wanted to sell individually. We shall see. I'm also thinking of asking a local influencer with a ton of followers to sell on his site. I really hate eBay fees. What's your recommendation?
