2015 F150 Dash Removal Ford Actuator door for climate control
มุมมอง 28K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The dash of a 2015 Lariat F-150 is partially removed and reinstalled so that the passenger side hot/cold mix motor can be replaced. Dual zone climate control had passenger side temperature stuck at one setting. Part# for motor is 19E616A.
I just want to say this helped tremendously. I was nervous since I never do this stuff but I followed each step and I didn’t have a problem! Thanks again!
You’re an absolute legend 🫡 thank for sharing this.
Ford garbage. I have a 2010 f150 harley davidson. Never again
I had used the method of going through the register found in another video. Great time saver. The MOST valuable part of this video was the proper positioning of the cam. As Murphy's law would have it, when I pulled the actuator off the hidden cam came off as well. First time around I had assembled it wrong, thanks to you video, the second time around was a go. Thank you again
My f150 2015 XL is stocked blowing cold air passanger and driver side, I believe the actuator that controls hot or cold temp is the one under or bottom floor passanger side, can someone confirm my guess?
That should be right. The XL doesn't have duel zone climate control. (Note that both drivers and passenger side are stuck.) There is only one actuator on the XL and it's under the glove box near the floor. Getting the torx screws out in a cramped spot is tricky, but you wouldn't need to remove the whole dash. Just maybe the passenger side floor mat.
Hello. Great job thanks
You 100% can do this without removing the dash. It’s tight but you can go through the vent and do it. Did it today and it works like a charm. Took maybe 45 mins. Just take your time. Don’t drop screws/tools in the dash and it’s a breeze. No need for this nonsense. I do appreciate the video for it helped me a lot with some of the disassembly. 👍🏻
Are you sure you did the Passenger side, the Driver side is real easy to get to, passenger, not so much.
Can you provide some info on how you did this task? I removed the radio/etc but I could not find enough space. I did not removed the vents as It did not seem like i would have space to reach
I tried accessing by only removing the radio and center console trim. I was able to get a small peak at the actuator by looking to the right of the passenger air vent but with only a half inch gap, getting tools and hands back there wasn't an option. The air vent is a bit flexible. I suppose if I had smashed in the plastic of the air vent, I might have been able to make some space to access the actuator. I worried that I might damage the vent if I did that and still not have access, so assuming that's the approach you used, that would be a useful insight for those not wanting to remove the whole dash.
@@diyadventures1622 you can squish the vent with no issues. It’s will form back to shape. And i used a micro ratchet with the correct size torx bit and it was not hard at all. My bit was magnetic so it helped pull the screws out of the dash.
@@diyadventures1622 just for clarification: I have an 18 Lariat with Dual climate. Passenger side has hot air but Drivers side is only blowing cold air. Is the actuator that needs to be replaced the one you did under the dash or the one down by the floor board under glove box? Thanks in Advance!
How ridiculous... im going to have to change the same part on my truck driver side has heat Air passenger side has cold air only
Me to, just started last week.. ugh
dude..... i could hear the other dude in the shop fart over your whispering
HOLY-FUK-A-RONY!!!! All that just to R&R a common issue failed junk actuator.
Just finished my replacement. A bit of a struggle for me with a Center shifter console. Had difficulty reaching the tranny cable connection in the console to pull the console out so I disconnected the cable on the Tranny and had more than enough space to move the dash. Appreciate your guidance from the video! Ron
Awesome video, as a side note to replacing the passenger side blend door actuator I was able to partially remove the centre dash and reach my arm through the passenger vent to change the part in under 1 hour. But your video gave me the confidence and knowledge to attempt such a task without being able to see what I’m doing. You also helped me save over $1000 in labour from the dealership so thank you very much for you time and effort making this terrific video.
You didn’t by chance take and video or pictures of that did you.
Great job-Great info! I commend you on your success. I started down the trail to replace mine and had to stop to take care of some family issues so I replaced everything back to normal. After watching this video I have the confidence to get mine replaced as well. I will tackle this in the next couple days. Your video was very beneficial. You did incredible and saved a good chunk of cash in doing so.
Ford should do better about this. $30 bucks for parts we have to dig in deep. Thanks for sharing
I think I'm just gonna trade my f150
Fantastic video! And no ADs. Thank you so much. Very clear and easy to follow along. My wife is getting blasted by cold air on the passenger side and I cannot stand forking out money at the stealership. Might be a bit beyond my pay grade, but with this video, I just might have everything that is needed to attempt it. Any tips for removing the center console on the Lariat without the bench seat?
Just out of curiosity do you know where the actuator is for the fresh air recirculation? I have a 2018 stx with a failed one of those any help would be very appreciated.
Me too
Does the driver side temp different than passenger side , my 2018 let's cold air to drivers side ( on heat mode ) the faster I drive the more cold air 🤔
Love this ❤️
Thank you for the video! Very helpful, my truck has the center console and the most difficult part about getting that out was the shifter, I could not find a video on it and eventually got it but it is not going to be fun to put it back in, still not sure how they did it from the factory.
Did you had to remove the seats? Wife dropped her engagement ring down the windshield vent so im taking it off.
If you wanted to remove the dash entirely out of the vehicle, you would have to remove the seats to free a bunch of wires that go from the dash to the underside of the seats. To recover an object like a ring, just pulling the dash back a few feet like I did in this video should give you access.
I have watch this video twice already. Thank you for the video. Im going to be removing my dash to get it wrap.
My driver side is stuck in hot only so thanks for the local of that actuator. Thankfully it’s not the passenger side!
Hello, do you think this could be done without removing the steering wheel from the dash? Just remove the bolt on the bottom of the steering wheel column
I don't think so. The problem is that you need to disconnect the transmission cable and while you might be able to do that with the steering wheel still attached, it seemed to be that it would be easier if not necessary to remove the steering wheel.
It can be done I just did it , all you have to remove is stereo and vent where actuator is located behind and bend the duct out of the way , it is a very tight fit but it can be done in about 2-3 hours for me . Couple of videos on TH-cam using this method
No reason to remove entire dash
Damn.... you sir are a brave one! I hope I will never have to replace this part! But at least you’ve shown me how to get to the daylight sensor! Unfortunately there are no videos on how to do this, I want to add interior ambient lighting connected to the sensor
