All accommodation options are good. I had friends in both private and university accommodation, and they were happy, mostly depends on your preferences. University accommodations normally have bundled packages with Wi-Fi, furniture, electricity etc. In private options, you might have to check for all amnesties separately. A good bargain are privately offered student apartments in the city. You can search for them using keywords : student accommodation studios etc. in Reading, always look for distance from campus using Google maps.🏬 I think rightmove is a good webpage as well, for bigger apartments. Of course, if you plan to stay longer than University term better to find a private accommodation already. My tip: If you end up choosing University accommodation, I would steer clear of Wantage Hall, it’s quite nice for a tour but not the best offering! Finding accommodation is always a pain, but hang in there. Wish you lots of luck!

I was not enrolled in ICMA Center so not sure about the exact opportunities, but I think according to their survey done few years back on around 50 respondents 90% were employed! They have lots of different career fairs, alumni events and several other opportunities. They also have a dedicated careers team, always at your service. I really recommend reaching out to them, whenever you need any help or guidance. I am sure you will do great! All the best

Thank you! and That’s great news! Congratulations I was not aware of the Foundation program so far, just had a look online and it looks quite informative and core-focussed. It should strengthen your skills. For housing, I think, feel free to look around, both on- and off-campus. I don’t have much idea about off-campus living, but most of my friends live off-campus and they seem to like it quite a bit. Just use Google Maps to check the distance and transportation from the housing you like to the campus. All the best! You will do great!

Congratulations on your offer! University life is quite nice, lots of activities, events, career fest etc. The student union of the university is quite active and helpful in all respects. They organise lots of events as well. There are tons of places to eat on-campus, including a super market. Its located very close to the City Center (12mins by bus). Library is quite huge, with lots of books, Reading spots for individual and group work, also has its own cafe. Reading is 30mins by train from London, so you can easily go there and explore. Reading itself is a small town, with a cozy city Center. Can’t give you more details on food sciences as I am not enrolled in the program. Part-time jobs are available on-campus (one can access university’s job portal once registered as student) as well as off-campus (‘search via google). Of course, work hours while studying are restricted, so have a look at those. Hope this helps. All the best!

I think it will take you about an hour and half one way to commute from South Kensington to Henley, maybe a bit more or less depending on your exact location. In general, from Reading to London paddington station tickets are around 25-27£ one way. So, have a think, if that's something that works for you. Also, for my course we have classes round about 3-4 days per week on-campus, but then there are group works etc. for which you might want to come or you may choose to do it online :) Hope this helps! Yes, you can find jobs both on-campus and off-campus. Once you register as a student, you get access to on-campus jobs portal, where you will have access to all kinds on jobs, and of course, the usual Google search will be your tool for off-campus job search. As an international student your work hours will depend on the type of your residence permit (typically ranging around 20 hours per week). With that in mind, you are free to take up as many jobs as you like. But, too many work hours can be a hurdle for studying properly, so good to optimise work, studies and relaxation for a healthy balance. :) Employability data is a bit hard to find due to COVID struck previous years, but I think among the surveyed people its relatively good.
