That's good storytelling: succeed or fail, the main plot points required to advance the story still come to pass, without the player feeling like their actions didn't matter; so long as you don't peek behind the curtain.

Did anyone else notice what the two ending are saying on how the black hole disrupts time and in the bad ending, the survivors lost would probably reappear hundred years does that mean the super colony would reappear around 100 years are they basically setting up one of the enemy factions for the third game if there is one in the future?

We successfully destroyed the super colony, God knows who’s coming next in the supposedly empty sector at the bottom of the map, we very much might have another three front war, i’m going bet the first fights will be like the massacre of the creek on the automaton front.

Hopefully nothing with tentacles will come out of that black hole.

Interesting, if the whole black hole illuminate introduction is true. So not getting enough dark fluid into the planet means the production facility will end up with another accident while producing more, and if the planet does get black holed the facility will stop production and not have the accident. That's a cool way to make sure there IS a black hole macguffin for the illuminate regardless of the outcome for the major order. Plus failure of the major order means its a planet closer to super earth so its almost like an additional consequence.
