    Let's start with the first aircraft in your video...the EB-57 Canberra Bomber. It served in Vietnam. there were several variant's - the B-57 Bomber, the EB-57 Bomber (Electronic Counter measure), the RB-57 Bomber, (reconnaissance) and the WB-57 Weather Reconnaissance. The next F-105 Thunderchief, the work horse along with the F4D Phantom in fighter escort, and bombing. Next - KC135 Stratotanker - used for air to air refueling of fighters and other aircraft capable of receiving fuel midair. The F4D Phantom - The one you filmed was flown by Steve Richie, and I suspect that particular Phantom (not sure it is, but if it was, it would've had three Red Star to show he shot down three. In either case, the F4D was flown to counter the Mig-21's.) was used for his second kill of a North Vietnamese Mig21. In total, he shot down three. It's great that you took an interest of the aircraft and the formally known Forbes AFB, Topeka, KS.

      Thank you so very much for being kind enough to share that information with me. I have taken a lot of interest in Military History and Military Aviation History as well. My father worked on and flew A-3 Sky warrior's in Vietnam on the USS Hancock. Ive been visiting all the museums and especially the Aviation ones in my own local 4 state area. (southeast,kansas). A lot of my family are Military Veterans and Once I got up and close and visited my first aviation museum it was overwhelming. Just walking through some of these museums makes me feel like my old dad is right next to me. I went to Forbes Field to go to the Air Combat Museum and Wow they have so much very interesting stuff around there, I plan on going back soon there was so much to see and learn. And what is so cool about it is while we were there, I got to see some T38 Talon trainers landing and taking off and even some Blackhawks taking off. I just wish they had a few more signs on some of the tanks and vehicles. Some I knew myself and some I had no idea what they were. But again thank you for taking the time to explain to me what some of things mean. I am not Military at all but I really honestly love learning about our Military more especially the planes, tanks, helicopters. Its just so relaxing to walk around something you never thought you would see. But enough rambling lol But again thank you so much for taking the time to tell me that. It is much appreciated and I learned more! so thats a big plus!

    I was not a normal kid growing up, forget Saturday cartoons. At 6:30 M-F every night was MASH for me. Probably why I entered the USAF as a PJ, MASH turned me into the veteran, police officer, & EMT that I just retired from after 30 years. Serious and funny at the same time; in Panama (just cause), liberation of Kuiwat, & Occupation of Iraq, so always thought about MASH & how important they were. THANK YOU, FOR BRINGING ME BACK!!!

      That sounds like it would be fun! If I ever get to Texas that is something I definitely want to check out. I completely understand that I could have stayed here for hours and tried to get everything, but it is just a lot to take in and almost impossible to catch it on one trip. My highlight of the trip was being able to look at a real medal of honor and reading the soldier's story of how he earned it and let me tell you the story was mind blowing what he did. But like most Medal of Honor recipients the story is just beyond amazing what some of these Men and Women did to earn it. And that's what enjoy about reading and learning about The Medal of Honor recipients. Lubbock actually is a town, I really want to visit as well due to Buddy Holly being from Lubbock.

    My old agency was part of the 'Dexter Shootout' in which Buck and Blanche were captured. The iconic photo of Blanche being captured with Buck laying on the ground nearby was taken by a news photographer at the scene. Being a rural area in Iowa, an ad hoc posse was quickly formed with area law enforcement and even private citizens participating in the subsequent shootout and capture. Bonnie and Clyde, along with W.D. Jones miraculously escaped the shootout and made their way back to Texas.

    • @K3inKansas
      @K3inKansas 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is very interesting. I am hoping to get up to dexter before winter hits and have a look around. I read they refused to go back through dexter because they knew the people in the town would be after them. So that really makes sense now. Thank you for sharing that, I read multiple places it was sheriff's then some said it was infact a posse made of the towns people.

When I was a kid a friend of mine's great grandpa told us about how he was at a Bank in Cicero I believe maybe? I can't remember it's been a while. But long story short he used to tell us how he was in a bank that John Dillinger robbed, and he even made the claim that it was true Dillinger did not steal from the poor and lower class.

    The BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLE used a 30.06 full metal jacket armor piercing round. Anyone with any sense would know they were outgunned. They stole these from National Guard facilities all over rural America.

    • @K3inKansas
      @K3inKansas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep. You sir are 100 right. In Joplin, where they had the shootout at the Apartment they rented, maybe 6 or 7 blocks away was a National Guard Armory. But in this case in Joplin and a few other shootouts, Law enforcement didn't know they were coming across Bonnie and Clyde in most cases and really didn't know they had BAR's. In Platte City they were way more prepared. Imagine being only armed with a 38 going up against BAR's and Thompsons.

      Yep. That was another one of Clyde's obsessions besides the Ford V8. In all my research he always had a BAR somewhere close. That is partially why they always out gunned the police. The Platte City shootout is where the Police actually were prepared for a shootout with them.

    • @scottmccoy3251
      @scottmccoy3251 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @K3inKansas Absolutely,.Even today a criminal with a BAR and a V8 would be a hard person to stop,the BAR would go through steel cars like warm butter, Can you imagine how they would go through the cars of today??

    • @K3inKansas
      @K3inKansas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scottmccoy3251 It would not be pretty. Especially in the plastic cars we have now. 550 to 650 rounds per second and chambered in 30.06?? Yeah nothing would be left of a modern car today. At the Platte County shootout, they did have an "armored car" but it was basically a few extra layers of steel and Clyde shot it to crap. Granted now we both know back then those armored cars were not as sophisticated and monstrous like we have now.

    My dad said our great aunt eula got held captive when they went through fort scott.

      I know they kidnapped a Constable or Sherriff and he was dropped off in Fort Scott in this area some where. They usually kidnapped people and used them for info on how to get out of town then let them go. Usually gave them money too. Learning this by the book about them I am reading.

    Plenty of Cherokee walked the Trail of Tears. My great, great, great grandmother survived it.

    • @K3inKansas
      @K3inKansas 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a blessing that she survived. Just reading all the details and things that happened during the journey it was very emotional and overwhelming. The ages of the children that were buried here just hit me so hard. They actually have the ages of them on the crosses, my camera did not pick it up very well. But they were as young as 1 day old. And as a father and just as a human that hit me pretty hard to where I was almost speechless.

    Tombstone is one of my favorite movies.

    • @K3inKansas
      @K3inKansas 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! It is My favorite from My generation. While i was filming this, I had a ghostly/creepy experience. When I was talking about the Earps getting into a brawl with his wife's brothers I look up and hear gunshots (probably a farmer or hunter). Gave me goosebumps for sure. Loved making this video for sure.
