Part 2 Jarbidge 2024 Ride with Matt, had a great time on my Honda 300L
มุมมอง 279หลายเดือนก่อน
"Jarbidge" is a name derived from the Shoshone language meaning "devil". Natives believed the nearby hills were haunted. Gold was discovered near Jarbidge in 1909, making it the site of one of the last gold rushes in the Old West and, incidentally, was the site of the last stagecoach robbery in 1916. Its population swelled to near 2,000 in 1911; however, it began a slow decline thereafter, when...

BLM manages more than 12,000 acres of public lands in the Pole Creek Wilderness. The Owyhee Canyonlands is a huge and remote area of eastern Oregon, southwestern Idaho and northern Nevada. Hidden within this vast high desert plateau are deep canyons carved by the Owyhee, Bruneau and Jarbidge Rivers. The rivers of the Owyhee and Bruneau-Jarbidge systems offer something for nearly every level of ...

Forest roads climb and descend a few times before re...
West Fork Big Smoky and Big Smoky Creek Single Track on My Honda 300L
มุมมอง 3582 หลายเดือนก่อน
This ride starts at the end of Smiley Cr Rd and goes up the West Fork of the Big Smoky River then heads down the mountain to connect with the Big Smoky Creek. We ended our ride coming out at the Chemeketan Campground. This trail is a lot of fun but very challenging because of narrow tracks and big boulders.

Canfield Trail System Day 2 with Chuckie and my Honda 300L
มุมมอง 3523 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Canfield Mountain trails designated with numbers generally run North to South while those with letters run East to West. For the most part numbered trails contain the steeper grades and lettered trails are milder. This is not true in all cases however, and you are advised to read the individual trail descriptions for detailed information. There are more than 25 trail miles in the system. Th...

The Old Vienna Mine (The Place to go is Idaho) This famous mining area was opened in 1879. By 1883 a twenty stamp mill was turning out between forty and fifty thousand dollars worth of ore per month. It continued this production until 1885 when a Lawsuit closed the property. In 1917 the Old Vienna Co. reacquired control over the Mines, built a new Mill, and camp, but to no avail. The Mill never...

Awesome ride! I've been layed up recovering from medical stuff and your video sure is giving me the want to get back out. I've ridden once to Jarbidge but not the routes you took on this ride. I'll have to see if I can figure out a route based on your landmarks and give this area a try in the future. Looks like my kind of riding!

In the mid summer of 2022, I fought a big 20,000+ acre fire that swept through that area of Dead horse cave and Tea kettle cave. There used to be beautiful old growth sage brush that was on average 4-5 feet tall. In some places, the sage brush was over 10 feet tall and 110+ years old. Beautiful country before the fire completely nuked the area. Now it's all grassland.

My wife and I were there that day of the dead elk. We didnt approach it or anything, seemed kinda weird to go see a dead animal. Otherwise it was a great trip and experience. Saw Yellowstone for 2-3 days and the Tetons for about a day and a half. I bet we hiked 20 miles or more that week. Oct 2nd-6th. Most of it was around Jenny Lake at the Teton Park. Sometimes I hop on checking out these vlogs in hoping to see us in the background or in the car driving by lol.. Thanks for sharing your video!
