Hello, thank you for very interesting video! But there are some confusing details in this video: your drawing has the Thais as preference shareholders. I have read elsewhere that it should be the other way around for a foreigner to hold control over the company: Preference Shares 1 share - 1 vote (held by foreigner) Ordinary Shares 10 shares - 1 vote (Thais) Also I've read that the Peference Shares have the rights for dividends over the Ordinary Shares. Questions: - You say in the example it doesnt look good to have 20% foreign ownership. Why so? To me it seems pretty good on the paper to have only 20% foreign ownership. I believe the Articles of Association is not public information, so why would one need to go deeper with hiding the foreign minority shareholding? - Why wouldn't any foreign entity want its investment being protected? Thanks a lot! But one question: are you not subjected to income tax in Korea when moving the money from Mauritius's bank to Korea's bank on the basis of its remission to Korea?
If there is no DTA between Mauritius and Korea to help reduce the income tax - for a particular transaction, then you would have to look for ways to withdraw the money out of the Mauritius bank account.
@@davidtan3288 Thanks for the quick reply! So to confirm, it would be best to find a country which has a DTA with both the source country and the residence country, in this case with both Thailand and Korea, right?
@@brandongrech8111 That would be ideal. But note that one of the consideration while shopping for a DTA is the type of transaction and income involved.
