    When the pagans bow down to icons of their demons in worship, are they worshipping them or "venerating" (which means to worship) them?

    • @SeraphimWebster

      Venerating and worshipping are related concepts but have distinct meanings, particularly in religious contexts: 1. Venerating: This refers to showing great respect, honor, or reverence towards someone or something. Veneration does not involve attributing divinity or performing acts of devotion that are reserved for a deity. For example, people might venerate saints, heroes, or ancestors as a way of acknowledging their virtues and seeking their intercession or inspiration. 2. Worshipping: This involves acts of devotion, adoration, and reverence directed toward a deity or divine being. Worship typically includes rituals, prayers, sacrifices, and other practices meant to honor and connect with the divine. Worship implies a belief in the deity's power, divinity, and role in the lives of the worshippers.

      @@SeraphimWebster Ironic, when you disregard the Bible's clear teachings on idolatry - even your profile picture is an image. If you want to talk about definitions, here's the proper root of the word 'Venerate': "Venerate comes from the Latin root venerārī, which has the various meanings of "to solicit the good will of," "to worship," "to pay homage to," and "to hold in awe." That root is related to Venus, which, as a proper noun, is the name of the Roman goddess of love and beauty."

      @@SteliosMusic Because Jesus came as a physical human being, physicality has become a part of our understanding of spirituality. The icons represent Christ but are not Christ. You are an icon. You are made in the image of God. You are not an idol. Icons are not idols therefore that commandment doesn’t go against them. Take into account the icons made by Moses (I.e ark of the covenant with the cherubim) and king Solomon (I.e temple of Solomon). Take into account even the ancient jews used icons and the early Christian’s use of icons. Jesus became incarnate. Also, I encourage you research the 7th ecumenical council. God Bless you ☦️

    "You shall not make to yourselves curls and round rasures." Nor may men destroy the hair of their beards, and unnaturally change the form of a man. For the law says: "You shall not mar your beards." (Leviticus 19,27) For God the Creator has made this decent for women, but has determined that it is unsuitable for men. But if you do these things to please men, in contradiction to the law, you will be abominable with God, who created you after His own image. - APOSTOLIC CONSTITUTIONS (Book I), Section 2, Commandments to Men

      They are icons. I don’t want to sound repetitive if you’ve heard this statement before, but it’s no different than you having a picture up of a loved one in your house or on your desk at work. Idolatry is the worship of a false god or something that you submit yourself to. You aren’t worshipping the imagery of the saints, Mary, or Jesus but rather using it as a way to remember their essence. But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. And Zakariya and John, and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of the righteous: Chapter 4 The Women O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

    We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay! Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)." Chapter 3 The family of Imran It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

    Ancient Hebrew men had beards. The Law of Moses commanded men to grow beards and grow their hair Leviticus as well as other books of the Law. Beards are also a sign of " Elder Wisdom"

    All men should grow beards. Unless there is a valid reason like in military or firefighters men shaving is shameful and actually goes against God. Do you not know the effeminate will not inherit the kingdom?! Your answer was good but incomplete
