2 Days in Rovaniemi | Hunting for Auroras
Hello! In this episode, Vani and I are in Rovaniemi. We are looking for auroras or Northern lights as they say, here and will spend 1 night and 2 days roughly. We will take you along in our aurora hunt and share some amateur tips on how to shoot auroras. For the aurora or northern lights shoot here are the list of items I carried:
1. DSLR Nikon D750 which is a full frame lens
2. Nikon 17-35mm wide angle lens
3. Iphone 14
4. 2 Tripods (one for the iPhone, second for the DSLR)
After the aurora hunt, we will be going for a hike to Ounasvara, a short hiking trail just outside Rovaniemi. It is very close to the city and just across the bridge over the Kemijoki river. It is quite a pleasant and easy hike and can be done by beginners.

Thanks for the great analysis. I would love to see this analysis with more products since the product range has increased significantly. Advance runners who have started consuming gels find this very insightful. Also, share your recommendations on how and when to consume along with a few tips and tricks.

Are you sure units are miles and not km !?
Yes. I am sure the units on the screen is miles. It is a half marathon - 13.1 miles or 21.1km.
Helpful 👌
Thank you. Happy to help 😊
Please try and review LEAP gel as well. I find it a good alternative to unived
Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely do that
Thanks for the analysis. will try your recommendations. BTW where can i get Maurten in India? (not available in Amazon)
I wasn’t able to get Maurten in india. The ones I bought are from the USA.

Thanks Ify
such a gorgeous dusk view witn cooler climate. Dreaming to run there already😂
Running along Arno River is very pleasant. I met a lot of runners on the river bank.
It wasn’t cold?
It was cold for me 🥶
Spotted myself 😮
Hope you had a great run!
Ohhh.. Osuwangyo... i cant forget it. My first hike with GM was Osuwangyo normal route. Have done the traverse also... which is 3 times of the normal route when it comes to the nature of trek. But people around me made it look easy... Kevin Craig Dale Samy Emma & the always charged Mahmoud.. Cant forget ....
Ghana mountaineers is a fantastic group.. 😊
Good one Jimmy
Thanks 🙂
See you at the Prague Half Marathon 2024.
Awesome!! See you there!! 🙌🏻
👍🏃hello, thanks for the video ✌️
🙏🏼
uh oh lol I put 323 too for next year
That’s a great number.. Berlin will be great for you! In my case, I wasn’t mentally prepared to deal with the crowd ..
In our half marathon in my country we had about 3k runners. It was so hard on the start. We literally run 20 sec per KM slower and i had to go around 100 people at least. It was so energy draining and i hit threshold in the first couple of km because of that Thats why i prefer to test myself in time trial
I understand how you feel!!
This happens to all big marathon races for slower runners. Either you run your faster time elsewhere or have to deal with it.
Lesson learned 🫡 😊
Believe in the Run talked about the wave of slow runners. Meaghan, who is easily sub 3, talked about still having to navigate and pass other runners even at her pace throughout the whole race. This tells me it's more of an issue with the sheer number of people, and maybe not creating enough corrals.
You might be right about more corrals. But it still won’t solve the problem of people putting higher timings than their previous achievements, especially in the segments where proof isn’t required
The truth so well said.... ❤
Thank you Nilanjan. ☺
thank you so much for sharing. Video came out at perfect time when I was thinking which marathons would be great for sub3 PR & possible BQ. I was counting on Mumbai Marathon but last year there were 9k marathoners there & only 4 waves (fastest wave qualification being sub2 HM). New Delhi (23 feb) seems fine but route is full of u-turns. Jaipur & vadodra (both 2nd feb) seems fine but might feel lonely there (<250 runners last year). Already running Ahmedabad but I doubt I'll be in BQ shape by then. What's your input?
I am quite unfamiliar with any of those marathon routes.. but if you are going for a PR, the course elevation and the climate should be of primary importance I believe. Too much incline will slow you down and also temperatures below 15 degree are best suited to run fast.. so, I would compare the races based on these parameters first.. You can manage the other things like U turns, and running alone 😊 I think you are very consistent with your workouts and will do well. good luck for the BQ target!
@@Theresoluterunner Fair points. It is decided then. Mumbai for experience & sub3. Delhi for BQ. Thanks 💪🏻
@@rahilarious good luck man!
Please where exactly is this? I’m looking for a place to go my morning runs in Lagos?
Hi! This is inside Eko Atlantic, in Victoria Island. I left Lagos early year in January. I had a pass through a friend. But quite a few people used to go there without passes. I am not sure how it works now. But you can probably inquire around there. Alternatively you can run inside Banana island in Ikoyi. You can get a pass from their office in banana island. But you need to have some referrals from people who live in there.
Oh brother… thank you so much. I follow you from my channel and wa expecting the shout out on the video. That’s so kind of you. Subscribed!
Thank you Aubrey! Your videos are very energetic and entertaining..
Hahahaha just heard the shouting and the “let’s go”
lol.. yeah! the rallying call..
Congratulations for the massive pr. 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 😊
Congrats 🎉. I just started running a few months ago. Same reason to lose weight. I’ve lost around 32lbs since July and need to drop another 20lbs to hit my goal weight. Right now I run around 10km a day (2 5K runs). Got onto a training program with the Runna app to increase my endurance and pace. Still way too slow but seeing progress is like a drug 😂. Anyways it was nice to watch your video which I also subscribed to. Keep running and inspiring 🎉
Thank you. Your story is very inspiring. You have made very good progress. I guess once you start enjoying running weight loss takes a back seat but it happens automatically. 🙌
Congrats still a really good time for such a chaotic huge amount of people, 👊🏼👍😀✅
Thank you 😊 looking forward to testing myself again in the next marathon.. 😅
Congratulations 😊
😊
Awesome!
Thanks macha
Thanks for sharing! I am planning to do it next yr. I saw that you took the free shuttle and then also the subway. Can’t you just take the subway directly? How much time should we leave towards the start? To not feel stressed for the start? Thanks! 🙏
Hi! I had to take the free shuttle because I stayed in a hotel near the finish line. It was very convenient actually. But if you stay near the subway station you can get on it directly to Fertagus Pragal station , maybe from around campo lide or sete rios. It would be advisable to start early. The subway gets very crowded and the entry to the start line also gets choked and progress is slow. I started around 8:25 am from my hotel and I just made it very close to the start time (10 am). So an earlier start would be preferable to not feel too stressed
@@Theresoluterunner wow that is insane early to go out. Did u check in your bag? So you took the shuttle to the subway and then the subway? I thought the shuttle would bring you to the start… that seems very stressful in the morning before the race 😨
@@crazybirdy21 lol yeah.. I had to take the shuttle and the subway.. you can skip the shuttle if you stay near the relevant subway stations .. a head start towards the start line would be advisable. The participation crowd is huge and there were quite a few bottlenecks which slowed down the movement. I didn’t check in any bag.. it will not so stressful, unless you are late I guess .. best case will be to stay near the subway I think.. 😊
Ok, will look for a hotel near the subway then. Thanks for the tips!🙏
