As a kid growing up in the late 70's, 80's and 90's, we use to record a lot of TV from those days starting in 1978 when my family got our first VCR. We use to record everything from TV shows, concerts, movies video games, computers, pop culture, sub culture, specials and much more. This channel is dedicated to transferring select VHS content from my extensive archive of video tapes and upload them to youtube for perseverance. Since my family recorded so many show back in the day, this channel will NOT be a specific genre. This channel will be a pretty well mixed bag of 70's, 80s and 90's goodness. Enjoy!

Nintendo video games Sega Arcades ❤
At 5:36 I've got that exact tv next to me on my night stand that I watch yourube on.
It took Microsoft an entire decade to realize the video game market was a billion dollar industry, so they finally made the first Xbox.
Thanks for posting this
I didn't know jay leno was also a reporter.
LA was great back then..the Punk scene was huge..miss it.
2024 likes here
The fact video games were considered “toys” back in the day.
Had to be a cool job working at Nintendo customer service
Back then levels were called boards, Princess Peach was Princess Toadstool, Bowser was King Koopa.
I don't think being an 80s punk would have been as much fun without all the controversy. Shows like this allowed us to perceive ourselves as misunderstood revolutionaries.
Revolutionaries? You mean the way all these college students today think they're actual Marxist fighting fascist and Nazis? But really theyre just fighting the other half of the country who disagree with them 😂 There were some Punks back then who thought they were actually fighting the system, but the majority were like myself. Just going out to the clubs, hanging with friends and having a beer. Letting out some anger and frustration while we slammed and sang along with our favorite bands
Is there any chance you could upload the raw version of this episode or tape? Thank you!
It is insane to me that main stream media wasnt trying to fear monger and they actually did a pretty fair story on the industry. Parents actually being parents and limiting their kids access rather than blaming the video game companies. What I would give to go back to a time like that.
Saw them a shit load of time's but missed this show
In the comments, is there any child from that time, now an adult, who can share their experience of being on TV back then? It would be great to hear their feelings about it today.
Teenager nightclubs for us! What a great decade, i wish i could do it again
This sounds weird without the beat drop in the beginning
The beginning of gaming culture
Violence? now imagine if they saw a GTA gameplay lol, makes me wanna steal a car, but when i stole the car ingame i faiied and got killed by da cops, now i dont wanna steal any car in rl
1000 miles for Super Mario Bros 2... Goddamn I respect the dedication
“How many hours do you play a day?” “1 or 2” Lol fucking amateur
"one or two hours a day", how things change XD
Who the band with the female vocal in this video?
Wow. He pretty much got it right. Its fine in moderation. It doesn't cause violence. And it can increase imagination. Oh and...it is totally fine for adults to play it.

Yoshi's Old World
i was 8 in 1988. if i recall correctly i got a NES around 1989 or so. everyone at school had one, and I remember other kids (including myself) would borrow each other's games. another classmate of mine had a subscription to Nintendo power magazine. i could/would play the NES sometimes for hours. then, one of my friends told me about game genie! that was the only way i could ever beat some of the games. i have long since sold my NES and SNES but about 6 years ago, i built a raspberry pi with retropie, downloaded all the roms, and i can really enjoy all those classic games growing up. the memories with my friends and the games...i will always remember. truly a great time to be alive. i'm 43 now.
Lots of foreshadowing in here
Too bad so many of the clips were cut off. But I think some of these may be elsewhere on TH-cam in their entirety.
Kate was a cute host too
This aged so well nowadays because I came here from Vanburen20’s video were it’s the same thing as this. Wow, parents just don’t know anything about fun 😒
I never knew Cagliostro was adapted to a Dragon's Lair style videogame.
Played hooky just so I could buy supermario 3!

Wait we’re chadtronic
one of my favorite childhood bands
I was 10 years old in 1982 loved play arcade games still play them now all the classics
Who was pushed kid?
Love seeing videos of my favorite band!
This is my dad! Unfortunately he passed away a few days ago. He is missed so much.
This brings a smile to my face. Much fun was had not only playing on my NES, but going to a friends house and playing contra. If he wasn't a baseball fan, you'd go to another friend's house and play RBI Baseball. If he wasn't a football fan, you'd go to the friend that had Tecmo Bowl. Despite playing Nintendo, we still found plenty of time to play outside. Sports, snowball fights and trading baseball cards were big in my neighborhood. There were kids everywhere playing outside.
First it was dungeons and dragons and then video games nowadays parents wish their issues with video games and games where all you do is read big books.
That was a pretty solid time capsule he threw together.
God, crazy to see Adam pre X play days. I grew up on these video game shows. Such a magic time for the industry and us the audience at home
these kids are considered old ass elder millennials now 😂
I think I remember seeing this segment in '88!! SOOO nostalgic!
Still watching in 2024!
I miss those days so much
