How to Edit Colors Like a PRO (Lightroom Tutorial)
🌟Subscribe for more tips and tutorials: th-cam.com/users/BenReeder
In this video, I share my top ten tips for pulling the best colors out of every image you edit in Lightroom. I start with adjusting the white balance using temperature and tint, and show how to achieve a warmer or cooler look depending on the scene. Then, I cover the difference between vibrance and saturation, and how to use them effectively.
Next, I explore the HSL/Color section and demonstrate how to adjust the hue, saturation, and luminance of different colors to create a more dynamic and eye-catching photo. I also show how to use the color selector tool to focus on specific color ranges in your image.
Then, I move on to color grading and show how to add color to the shadows, midtones, and highlights to set the mood of your photo. I also discuss how to use the calibration section to make additional changes to the reds, greens, and blues in your image.
Finally, I explain the difference between profiles and presets, and how they can help you achieve a specific look for your photos. Whether you're a professional photographer or just starting out, these Lightroom tips will help you enhance the colors in your photos and take your editing to the next level.

    Pretty good. I'd suggest an L-bracket and post-processing software for must haves. A good photo planning app like PhotoPills or TPE and an ultrawide prime lens for nice to have. (For landscape use, manual focus lenses are fine and they're inexpensive, especially used.) My first upgrade was several lens adapters. If you shoot mirrorless, you can take advantage of lots of vintage manual lenses or adapted AF DSLR glass.

    I use ND filters, polarizer, or a combination of them to blur moving water. I have one waterfall shot that I took at Victoria Falls in Africa handheld at 1/3 second, but otherwise always on a tripod.

    • @BenReeder
      @BenReeder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That must have been pretty amazing to see in person. I assume the water is moving so fast that even 1/3 sec had considerable water blur.

    Over the years, I've suffered from all of the mistakes a photographer can make. I started with a Minolta SRT SLR in the 70's. Was out of the hobby except for some point and shoot vacation stuff for some 20 years, then got back in 2010 with Canon gear. I've always wanted a really good setup as I do a lot of nature, not just landscape, so now I just got an R5 and I'm already in love. It can do my landscapes, but it also will perform (20 fps) for birds or other wildlife once I get the chance to work with it. The internal focus stacking will also help with flowers and macro work. I've been mostly just been setting it up and learning the controls so far, but I'm well on my way.

    • @BenReeder
      @BenReeder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a great setup! I've dabbled in bird photography, but it's very challenging. I'm used to shooting mountains that don't fly away as soon as my shot is set up 😄

  • @AhmadNurKhoiriL
    @AhmadNurKhoiriL 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm a videographer, what makes me a little confused is when I shoot video, flat picture is the best, do we also use flat picture in photography? Or another profile picture? Or is there a profile picture that you recommend? thanks 🙏

    • @BenReeder
      @BenReeder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ahmad! When you say flat picture, do you mean shooting a raw image file?

    • @AhmadNurKhoiriL
      @AhmadNurKhoiriL 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BenReeder
      @BenReeder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always shoot in the standard mode on my Sony and make the adjustments in post processing. I like having a little more control of the color/contrast. You can also change the profiles after the fact in Lightroom as well. That gives you a chance to jump around to different profiles to se what they look like.

    Within the last year I bought a Canon EOS R6. My main focus is nature/wildlife photography. I'm still getting use to using it on manual settings, but am seeing progress each time I go out shooting. My main focus will soon be learning to better edit my photos. I am currently just going through the LR presets and seeing what looks good. I have never edited any photos before so it's a new process for me. My plan is to go back through the photos I selected for posting and see how I would edit it if done from scratch. Thanks for the video.
