My 2023-24 Dungeness Crab Season (episode 2)
The season is underway! While we were pretty busy catching crab, I tried to document as much as I could and put it together here for you guys. We've made a couple of trips so far and have found there's not as much crab out there as we would have hoped, but still enough for us to continue fishing. More episodes to come!

This video is the first installment of a series documenting my life as a commercial crab fisherman on the southern coast of Oregon. Currently, the season is scheduled to open on Dec. 16th but is subject to change.
Solo Camping in Active Lighthouse Beacon

Here's a solo fishing and camping adventure from early fall. While I didn't catch any fish, I stumbled across an injured Peregrine falcon and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in the beacon.

Set in a small town on the Oregon Coast, Crab Legs, is a short, experimental documentary about the 2021-22 Dungeness crab season from the viewpoint of a novice crabber living on a boat.

I thought the same thing... Knox. Safety glasses or a shield when using the angle grinder. Where I work we use both and still get junk in my eyes some time.
Bait your pots heavy, use hanging bait, chewie sacks, clams etc... move strings that don't produce, prospect constantly, do everything quickly and efficiently.. remember, time is money.. "if the block isn't turning you aren't earning" it will pay off in the end! Capt.

Really cool....started fishing at 16yo out of Fort Bragg CA....winter crabs & summer bottom fish....good memories....ended up in Alaska...now here I am,an old man...time goes so fast. Oh yeah, it's not "rope" it's line.
