I'm an electronics engineer/extreme electronics hobbyist who enjoys creating DC power control systems. In my spare time I also do software development. I'm fluent in Java, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and can work my way around several others such as C#, C++, C, and assembly.
One of my most popular software projects is the AliensVsPredator mod for the game Minecraft, which has over 2 million downloads. This is where most of my subscriber base currently comes from.
I upload videos from time to time about what I'm currently working on, though mostly software related, as I don't have a decent enough camera to record my progress electronics projects (yet).

CrawlerBot (Tablet Controlled Mobility Scooter via Bluetooth)
มุมมอง 2453 ปีที่แล้ว
Another update to the tablet controlled mobility scooter. Now called Crawler Bot. Redesigned the sharkbus controller board, no longer using the Arduino Mega 2560. Swapped it out with an Arduino Pro mini and will purely be used for managing the sharkbus communications. Will eventually also interface with an external controller, likely ARM based. Likely to use some sort of lidar detection sensor....
Mobility Scooter Hacked! Controlled with touchscreen tablet PC!
มุมมอง 3303 ปีที่แล้ว
An update to my previous video (Dynamic Controls Shark Mobility Scooter Controller Hacked!). This video shows the mobility scooter interfaced with a touchscreen tablet PC, running a modified Java application (Touch joystick UI developed in Java with JavaFX by Gerrit Grunwald). I added COM port communication to the application with the RXTX Serial Java library. In the future this will be a self ...
Dynamic Controls Shark Mobility Scooter Controller Hacked!
มุมมอง 4.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This video demonstrates that it is possible to reverse engineer the protocol used to operate the Dynamic Controls Shark motor controller via the Shark Bus on mobility scooters. I should add that I did not reverse engineer the entire thing myself, credit goes to the people that spent their time and efforts on this, which I will post the forum link to below! I will also be better organizing the i...

Self-Built 200V DC Brushed Motor Controller Demo
มุมมอง 7664 ปีที่แล้ว
Sorry in advance for the poor audio quality. There is a server rack running in the background. The details: A prototype 200V DC brushed motor controller I built a few years back for an electric go-kart I have been working on. The version I am demoing is one of 4 major versions I created since the beginning, working out all the major issues, while learning how DC motor control works. Built to ha...
Repair a Ceased GPU Fan with an Inaccessible Retainer Ring (EVGA GeForce 8400GS)
มุมมอง 8024 ปีที่แล้ว
Short repair video for a GPU fan that has an inaccessible retainer ring or e clip. The blades are impossible to remove without using the technique shown in this video. The video card used in this video was an EVGA GeForce 8400 GS, but this method applies to any GPU with the inaccessible clip/ring. Sorry for the terrible video quality on this one. Looked good initially and I didn't check the qua...

Harman Kardon AVR 3700 / 370 Repair - Turns Off After 14 Seconds
มุมมอง 36K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A common issue with Harman Kardon's AVR 3700 series receivers. This video shows you how to fix it. You are expected to have moderate electronics repair skills. If you've never worked on electronics before it is recommended that you do not attempt to repair these devices yourself. Bought this receiver a year ago on eBay for just $80, fixed it , and recently found another on eBay for the same pri...
Variable Speed Air Pump/Compressor Built Out Of An Engine
มุมมอง 1.1K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Built a variable air & vacuum pump/compressor out of an old weed wacker engine, some check valves & tubing. Driving the cylinder using a 12V motor. Pulls 240W on full power, which equates to about 0.32 horsepower. The controller I built for the motor is based on an arduino pro mini. Used the compressor to blow up a latex glove in this video. It popped at the end and scared me half to death
Now In 2024 This Video Is Perfect Solution For Me.Thanks 🥰
Hi can you give me sketch
Thanks for the video, was my problem exactly!
Bro is trying to take a dookie make it go to its home 0:53
Thank you!!!!
Any chance we will ever see the avp mod again
This is helpful- thanks. The bearings seized up on one of the rollers, so I replaced it. It was good to know what the yellow 'cap' is though, as that's what seized up (in a Roomba 980)!
4 years later and this video was still the perfect solution, thank you, I would have never guessed the capacitors on the logic board.
My Roomba 650 has a issue but i fixed it
Really appreciate this video; like many others, I never thought to remove the yellow plug at the end of the rollers. You've done your fellow Roomba devotees a solid.
It sucks because I am using new brushes and it still gives me this error. SMH so annoying
Yeah, same here. Finally about to just throw this thing away after taking the entire body apart, and cleaning everything, new rollers, still jacked
is the monitor 1080p?
Saved my sanity!
That worked! Saved Roomba from the trash
This also explains why it has been running in carpet mode while on a wood floor. Thanks!
Thank you. This video helped me fix my roomba error 2 message. 😊
Thanks so much for posting this. I was having the same problem. I’m going to try this gem of info!
have you check that MOSFET is in short mode?
My guy, the MOSFETs were dead by the time I used it a few times. Crappy product. This video was only created to get my refund for money poorly spent.
@@ri5ux435 Smart 18650 before refund, you may replace the MOSFETs if you have a mind to do it
I was having the exact same issue. Followed your directions and now it works like it used to! Thanks!!
Thanks for error 2
Thanks! that did the trick
Mine keeps doing this after I just put new extractors in
Thanks a ton ! I have an AVR 2700 and replaced the caps but it blew a fuse shortly thereafter , Noticed a blown MOSFET so I replaced both 11N80C3 mosfets for higher rated 17N80C3 type . Works great now !
Thank you! I was going mad!
Great work ! Nice job !
I fixed my monitor successfully by following your guide. You are my hero!🎉 For others who are going to repair their monitor. The three bigger caps are for the IC supply rail which doesn't not pass 5v. Just use any 100uf cap to replace them. While the small cap is for LDO's input, where the voltage could be 5-12v. I am replacing them with my SMD MLCC cap and they work just fine.
I discovered that one of the cleaning brushes has a steel cylinder that must freely rotate. This cylinder is what the yellow end presses on. If that cylinder can't rotate, then the robot is screwed. I put a pair of pliers on it, got it to rotate and eventually come right off. Sprayed lubricant in there and all is well.
You saved the day man. My wife was about to go crazy until I found this video
Hi,i watch your video fixing h/k avr3700 I have the same problem i bought it in 2015 can i send it to you to get it fixed thank you.
有難うございます! 参考になりました🫡
Thank you. This sorted out my problems. Great work!
Thank you
Extremely cute
just push the rubber end and the cap will pop off on rollers
Great video! I think i would remove the power supply board for inspection/ cleaning. Is it possible to place a small heat sink on the transistor to help dissipate heat away from the board? Thats a great idea to loosen the front bezel, then remove the back cover! Thank you 🤓 for my level of repairing electronics I would tend to replace all 4 caps with matching values.
When you're repairing 40 of them in a row, you're not really concerned about cleaning and inspecting power supplies that are working just fine. A heatsink isn't going to do any good when there's no airflow inside of the monitor. Heat is going to build up just the same, it will just take slightly longer. Not enough time to make a difference. The solution: a fan, even a small one, but who's gonna put a fan in their monitor? Probably nobody.
@@ri5ux435 Its possible. A small CPU case fan would help! Thank you for the reply! 🤓
So helpful- thank you
Thank you for your amazing video. There’s was so much hair I couldn’t believe it, you save me some money because I was buying new rollers. Thank you thank you 🙏🏻
AVR270 here. It wouldn't boot anymore but would still stay in standby. I went and replaced the two caps with 470 pF 2KV ones. However now the damn thing won't even turn on the power LED. I can hear a faint buzz from the power supply when I plug it in but no other signs of life. What I did differently was removed the top PCB (containing the HDMI ports) in order to get to the far screw on the PSU but I made sure to align the pins and plug the flex cables back in.
any idea as to why my 3700 avr 7.1? volume outputs are low when using HDMI inputs . THis just started so the sound is very low even turned up to its notmal safe operating range. after about 2 min of use with very low volume the AVR shuts down but the orange sleep mode light on front is still lit. iv tried all hdmi inputs as well as sterio and optical it does the same thing. I love my AVR any help would be great mine is a 2012 model owned since new it has been a great machine i really hope to get it working again.
Thank you so much for this!!! Dobby the Roomba is back in action
How long would one need to leave the device disconnected from power for the capacitors to discharge themselves and become safe to handle?
Some power supplies can take weeks or months to self dissipate. Some just a few minutes. It's hard to say for sure. I'd use a multimeter to check them for voltage. This is typically why I just carefully remove the power supply and use a resistor to discharge the caps
power wheelchair actually
Well done! Thank you for this.
I have an HK3770, standby light is on but amp won't power on.
I have a HK AVR 325 receiver with the same problem, it will power up for a couple of seconds, then back into standby. A murky world of mystery was entered, as I opened it up and looked for anything obvious (bulging caps, fried fuses, smoked resistors, etc.) but everything looked "normal". It's still here, collecting cobwebs, but am always open to suggestions?
Thanks for help :)
mine keeps showing error 26
Thank you! Luckily this hasn't been doing this too long but I understand everyone frustration. Thank you!
First, Good pointer on what to look for. Second, The problem with mine is the bearing itself is bad, and you will find this on third party rollers from Amazon, some are good some are horrible. Just try turning the yellow caps by hand they should literally spin completely freely with no hangups or force required. I popped the caps off and pack them with some lithium grease and they were both fully functional then. Because the Roomba is constantly monitoring the required torque to the debris extractors, it will stop at the slightest increased power requirement from the rollers.
My irobot started having this issue today and there was something stuck at the beginning but then it did it again and we notice there was a lot of hair in the side of the rollers (had no idea that came off) so we thought that was it. Started again so I searched and your video popped up and solved the issue! Thank you so much!!!
