@@irynaburkatska3910 Sire basses have great cost performance. P8 is a pj bass, I would probably choose Sire z3 or z7 to mimic the StingRay tone. Thanks for your comments!
🤨Ah,..Nope!…not quite! For a “non-Stingray” ..attempt to have that Stingray sizzle,..The MusicMan “Bongo Bass” is / sounds much closer!! IMO!! But, you could swap those PUs out for a set of Aguilar MusicMan tone-like PUs!!! b(‘_<)..and do / sound much better‼️😂

@mattgreven7615 Fender Traditional ii Jazz bass: 900 USD. Sadowsky MetroLine RS4: 2400 USD. Bacchus WoodLine 517: 1500 USD. Providence aRB-108 M5: 2100 USD. These prices are based on Japan domestic market prices. (1 USD = 155 yen)
The MM hands down. I have never seen any musician anywhere play G&L guitars and Bass, who buys em? how does G&L turn a profit??

Strings are a huge part of the sound on a bass.

@@wei-chengfang9904 I think that the sire MM jazz bass is not only cost-effective, but also better than the Bacchus or Providence in terms of the quality of the instrument's finish and tone. Well, tone is a matter of personal preference😄
@@bbiri_deux Better finish than the Japanese-made Bacchus and Providence? Bacchus and Providence basses are lacquered body finished and handmade in Deviser factory, which also produces Momose guitars. For me I am sure that these two basses have superb finish and craftsmanship.

@@hushpuppykl Great taste! Personally I love Providence’s tone the most. No compress effect was used, but I feel that Sadowsky and Providence bass have the natural compress tone.
@@wei-chengfang9904… I adore my 78 Jazz Bass. Just got it fully restored after about 25 years of ownership. Shes spanking new looking now. It’s like a millstone but the tone is one of a kind.

Great demo. I think the Fender more than holds its own here. It’s slap tone has a rich mellowness whereas the others have a bit more bite that tends to harshness 🤔😎

I like the G&L, it is cleaner, more articulate. The MM sounds "musty", muffig to me.

two different beasts. Love the Stingray, love the L2000/2500. I prefer the G&L as it has more voicing options. You can make it sound close to a Stingray, a P bass, or a J bass with a flip of a couple of switches. You don't need to have multiple basses for different types of music. Yes, the Stingray has an awesome sound that works in just about every style of music. The G&L just has that many more tone options. But gota have one of each!! Good demo!
@@johngsteel When it comes to tone variations, not many can beat G&L!
Finally a demo with someone actually playing music well! Its so good to have an idea of how an instrument is going sound with drums, synth, etc. Also, nice groove. That helps.

Good cover, but in the original song, the highlight for slap bass was the rap part right after where the game version of the song cuts off.

I feel the strings are making the most difference between the two. Both sound good but flats on the L2000 in series i think would win it.

Thanks for your comment! The G&L is the only one with passive configuration, while personally I found out that it has the most output and stands out best.
You can't compare A bridge pup with the Ray. Put the L 2000 in parallel with BOTH pups. Then you have a fight.
Tone sounds much more different between both pups on G&L and StingRay! While personally I prefer the tone of both pickups on L2000! Thanks for your comment!
@@wei-chengfang9904Not measured yet, but I think a stingrays pickup is basically between where the two pickups are on the L2000, that’s probably why having both pick ups on with some bass cut is stingray-ish, but not quite the same.
@@Jonathan_Doe_ You’re right! The StingRay pickup is slightly forward to L2000’s bridge pickup. While having both I find it both pickups on in parallel mode sounds even differently than L2000 bridge pickup versus StingRay. It sounds more like a modern two humbucker-equipped bass, such as Sadowsky MetroLine sc4. But just like what you had said, maybe adjusting the eq would give me that StingRay feature.
