I can record and the sound is good but I have a problem: I can´t monitoring me, when I am recording I am listening weird sounds that means that the sound recorded is good but I can´t hear me while I am recording. Thinkpads truly are the best laptops. They're so modular and just designed to be tinkered with.

When you replace the Ultrabay-CD/DVD with an Ultrabay-HDD/SSD you have to configure the BIOS. HDD-Configuration -> Hotplug form enabled to disabled. Same configuration like the other HDD/SSD.

Hi, the outer bezel/cover on the new drive caddy is straight, whereas the default CD-DVD-thing has more like an L shape. Do you think it's possible to remove the bezel/cover from the original and put it on the new caddy?

I have replaced the DVD drives in a T540p, a T410 and a T510 with drive bay adapters and a variety of HDDs and SSDs under Linux, Win10 & 11. All ThinkPads have the same problem: After a cold boot the additional drives will boot up and function normally. If the systems go into sleep mode or hibernation and are called back to life, the additional drives will power up for a second and immediately shut down thereafter. Only a cold boot will bring them back to life. I've looked high and low for a solution to this - BIOS, registry, drivers to no avail. Remove the tray and re-insert it with the system running and the drive springs back to life. As the behaviour is identical on all three ThinkPads I assume this to be an issue with the load mechanism of the DVD drive, sending a signal to power up the drive once the tray is closed.

Thank you! I was adding a HDD caddy to my Thinkpad and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I missed that bracket on the back side that let's the computer know it's locked in. Moved the bracket over and it's working! Thank you for doing this video!

Does anybody know how to restore a backup originally made from a HDD on to a SSD. Like you would need to do after performing these actions.

Can anyone recomed any good ways of partitioning 2 SSD' ? I just followed this tutorial and replaced my t430's HDD with two 480GB SSDs. At first I was just going to treat them as one drive but now I'm thinking I could install another OS on the other one for a dual-boot. What do you think?

the lettering on the keys started wearing off within week an it is not covered by the warranty, within a month 7, keys had no lettering, not acceptable from an $80 keyboard

I know it's an old post but the t430 also takes MSATA directly on the motherboard, so an external SSD via the bay is actually not necessary; in case you don't want it to be super large, and or expensive; but 3 hd's always welcome !
