Over the years, every time Djokovic won a Main title, there would be many Federer and Nadal fans who would together try to belittle, undermined and water down Novak's accomplishments, but now, after all these years, Djokovic did in tennis what most people thought was unthinkable, even his father Srdjan did not expect this level of big success. I am glad that Djokovic can retire next year, if he wants to, and not regret much looking back, but the good news is, I think he will put up more good numbers this year and next.

you have the audacity to ask why nadal doesn't have an atp final title? I'll tell you why. anytime 8 players work their butts off to qualify for the end of the year finals, but in reality, year after year after year the surface that is chosen only benefits one or two players, inequality and undermining becomes obvious. it was my understanding that the finals were set up to rotate to different surfaces every 3 years, including clay and grass so that all 8 players would be given an equal opportunity to succeed on a surface that is favorable to their games. on the contrary, the atp finals were played on an indoor hardcourt at the 02 arena in london for 12 years, a surface that was vastly suited for federer and djokovic games. eventually, moving to another indoor hardcourt surface in turin, italy that is suitable for djokovic. where is the equality in that setup? how is that fair to all players? this is no coincidence; it was designed to lessen nadal's chance of winning from the get-go. I, too find it curious and worrying that djokovic fans are always pointing out that nadal has no atp titles especially considering he never got the chance to play on his favorite surface. it's easier to win when everything is in your favor. I have no doubt whatsoever that if nadal had been given a few opportunities to play for the title on the surface that best suits his game, he would have one or more titles too.

​@kimi-de1ox A candidate to the Goathood should not complain about the surface. Djokovic has beaten Nadal 2 times at RG and 3 times at Phillipe Chatrier. Nadal has never beaten Djokovic at AO. Djokovic has beaten Nadal at all big titles on clay (RG, Monte carlo, Madrid, Rome, and now Olympics). Being the Goat is also about being versatile but not complaining about the surface.

@@user-mp3ez3cb2g nadal is not only a candidate, he is the greatest as far as I'm concerned considering the injuries he has endured combined with the undermining he has suffered, he is still only two slams behind djokovic, but this discussion is not about Goathood, it's about fairness for all players; equality, a level playing field. it's easy to be versatile when things are set up in your favor. correct me if I'm wrong but I was thinking that nadal beat djokovic on hardcourts, 2010 usopen finals. of course, that was just before djokovic started to exhibit superhuman powers in 2011, if you know what I mean. btw, I don't recall djokovic ever beating nadal in the finals of roland garros, do you?

Agree Carlos is good on clay as well as grass, but has also won 4 titles on hards including a slam. It could well be possible a rematch of 2024 AO Final, but as the seeds differ, chances grow on the rematch of Wimbledon 2024 or any other combination or possibility

Yes ..a Slam in the US Open against a nobody when Djokovic did not compete because of the ban. But you are right. Anything is possible between those players you mentioned. It's really a toss up, but I pick Novak because he has the momentum going into the US Open fresh from his Paris Olympics triumph. Plus, Novak has a good record against Carlos on hard court.
