i just wanted to start a channel to keep a video update of how my tent progresses and later in the season my outdoor plants too. I wanted to share my journey and hope that you find some of the plants interesting. if there is anything you would like a spotlight video on with a bit more detail just drop it in the comments and i will see what i can do. hope you all enjoy :-)
Fascinating 👍
Yep first snow in the middle of the week and none of my konjac is going to bed 😅
@Royaliize leaf on my konjacs are just collapsing , my atroviridis and other amorphophallus wentna couple of weeks ago as did the sauoromatums
@penda1987 you guys over in the uk most have had it quiet cold, we had heat from the south for a few weeks. Around 10c past few days but now the first snow nd frost is coming. Even some of my sauromatum are still holding on to their leafs. They all got a late start in the spring bc of heat wave and no rain...snow here in nov is more now than it used to be like 20 years ago.
Wonderful.
Awesome plants and flowers! 🤩💚
love the different plant selection! im hoping to add more varience in my garden next year 🤔🌴 new sub here 👊😎
Looks great Penda, Hiniba's don't look too bad on growth considering the summer we haven't really had much of, don't think I could overwinter that many brugs though lol cheers Mark
Hi love the vid and such amazing plants in a relatively small space , lots of new plants now on my lists to buy. Where do you sell your plants ?
@joelsoper2734 hi and thanks :-) , I usually post the brugmansia cuttings up for sale on the uk brugmansia FB page when I cut the plants back for overwintering (usually november/december) Rest get put on fb marketplace or local fb groups
@penda1987 thanks for getting back to me , I'm hopefully moving to our new home in a couple of months so have a new garden to plan and fill which I'm excited about . Is there any way you'd be able to inform me of bits you had for sale that could be posted at all via Facebook or insta ?
Great video pal , I took a lot of inspiration from this garden and from you and your tenacity , the hard work has paid off mate , well done 👌👌😍😍🫡🫡🫡
Love the videos!!! what are your temps??
Grate video Penda love the new tent plants looking good
Holy🎉 thats huge! Awesome tent and plants!😮
👀👀👀👀
Looking great pal , I need some cuttings off these 😍😍😍
Hi,everything looks great, can you tell me what type of fertilizer you are using? Also are you fertilizing weekly? Regards Ray
@raymondarsenault8019 hi so throughout the season I feed with blood, fish and bone plus poultry manure pellets which I sprinkle on the substrate surface just before watering them , I try to do this at least weekly as they're very hungry plants , but I will admit I've been a bit behind with their feeding for the last couple of weeks due to other commitments. Then as soon as I see "y's" forming in the stems and buds appearing I also add in a high potassium feed as well such as tomato feeds or homemade comfrey juice
@@penda1987 Thank you for the quick reply, my brugs have not been flowering much this year. i've been feeding with a 15-30-15 , was expecting them to do allot better but they did not. my plants are quite larg they are about 10 ft tall, most have Y . Will try some bone meal and chicken pellets.again thanks.
I'll try to take picktures in the next few day's and post Ray
Awesome 😎
Beautiful and I’m new friend here and I’m just subscribed to your channel
@PheapEatShow thankyou very much for the sub , I hope you like the content of my collection. I'm hoping to get a fair few videos added and I have just got a larger grow tent etc so can't wait to show it all
Gardens is looking lovely, but those brugs are stunning Penda.
@karenmcanally2454 thankyou so much , I absolutely love them. Definately worth the overwintering effort here in the uk
Why pendas, any update on these Titans?😊
@Royaliize hi , will try and do a little video in the next week or so to show them all :-)
@@penda1987 Sounds great thx! My konjac and saurmatum have also awaken but bulbifer seem to sleep this year😰. One saurmatum decided to first bloom now, idk why, but it gona be a pain to over Winter....
🦉 🌱 hope all is good now. Glad to see the update 😄
Awesome collection 👌
Thankyou , appreciate that. I try my best and am still learning but think the collection is doing pretty good currently
❤❤❤❤
nice vid chap! subbed I 'd love see more
Very nice. I had noticed some yellow leaves forming on my nepenthes and I moved it in a brighter location and is doing much better. Thats the fun part is figuring out what works and seeing your plants thrive overtime. Subbed 😎
Everything looks great, always happy to see an update pop on the feed 👍 Do you happen to know the parentage for mammoth?
So ive been told the plant was originally created by jeff roberts in australia Apparently only two seedlings survived over here in the uk, one is held by chester zoo the other by james ellis who named it mammoth , it is a cross of (ventricosa x truncata) x veitchii - lowland
Awesome 😁 what size is your grow tent??
Hi the larger grow tent is (w x d x h) 4ft x 4ft x 6ft6 and the smaller is 4ft x 2ft x 6ft
Fantastic video pal , collection is looking stunning , and you didn’t butcher the names either 😁😁👌👌👌
Hi love watching your videos but how can I buy plants from you
Hi thankyou and glad you like the videos , means alot to know. Where are you based as im in the uk and only sell spare plants to the uk
@@penda1987 ye I am in the uk to
@angelawilliams5389 oh ok , well you can find me on facebook if you look for "penda buckley" and we can sort out from there :-)
A question I have that I've been unable to find an answer to, is about how far away is the smell noticeable? Like will my neighbors be upset with me, or can only smell within a distance, and roughly what is that distance?
It honestly depends on the weather. If they have their couole days of smelling on warm days then it can certainly be smelled from a few feet away , even more if wind is carrying the smell too. My biggest konjac is flowering now but hasnt been that bad as its been cool. Note that they only really smell for a couple of days anyway
@@penda1987Yes, something that most people leery of getting these don't realise is that they only smell a fraction of a percent of the time you have them. Plus, if you really just don't want the smell, you can cut off the spadix
Good video thank you good luck with the yellowing plants
Nice to see new videos about these plants, I thought I watched them all 🙃 I have few Sauromatums, a bulbifer and a konjac which went in the ground/pots, bit uneasy until I see the leaf popping out, I hope they're not rotting in there, as the pots are exposed to the elements
Amazing plants for sure, growing saro, bulbifer and konjac. we had night temps at around 10c and 18c daytime but now we going to have night temps at around 3c....need to take everything inside again, wont risk if we get frost locally.....wish i lived in the UK, temps way more stable😅. Cant wait to see some big leafs.
My konjac and venosum stay in my garage all winter just in a tub inside a load of wood shavings. I only bring the tub in if its going to be very cold i.e -4 or lower as theyre both pretty hardy. Our weather here in the uk has been really up and down this year with one of the wettest winters on record. Quite often its not the cold that will destroy a bulb but more a combination of wet and cold. Happy growing. I will post a video when my konjacs flower as the largest one is looking to put on a great sized flower this year.
@@penda1987 its my first time growing konjac this year, maybe im being too Caring towards the plants, i cant wait to see yours in flower, going to bea great but a short stinky show for sure. Just wish we had min 10c temps now, since every day is a shorter growing season..
What substrate are you using? It seems that you prefer rather rocky mix in comparison to most people I have seen, who generally all have neps potted in sphagnum
Hi its a mix of kanuma, akadama and pumice in equal parts
FILM IN LANDSCAPE YOU HEATHEN !!! 😂😂😂😂, great video old pal , tent is looking fantastic , great plants , great pitchers , keep the videos coming mate 👌👌
Im going to film on a diagonal from now on lol
@@penda1987 😂😂😂😂😂
Great info cant wait for updates and get to pot up mine😅.
Awesome collection! I had to write here since ur Amorphophallus video is only for yt kids😅keep up the good work.
nice collection, but what will you do when they will all be grown up? i have a 8x8 tent but with a 2x4 smaler tnet inside the big one, the small one are my lowland, i only have 3 and dont want more as i know o wont have enough space when they will be bigger, my mirabilis x raflesiana started to vigne and only that one take already more than the 3rd of that tent and i have a bicalcarata too...lol!!! in the big tent, its my highland and other, i have around 20-30, never counted, but i dont want more as i know i wont have space for them when they will be bigger...id love to have more, but i need to think of the futur...lol! and i see how much you have and i cant stop asking myself how much space all this will take, again, nice collection!
I have quite a few duplicates in there , i.e 4 x Attenboroughii x peltata so once ive seen a few pitchers i will keep my favourite and sell the spares plus there are some im not massively impressed with so they will go too clearing around 50 of the plants in there. I do plan to exoand the space, possibly getting a conservatory on the house later this year or next year so i can increase tent size. Currently i do also have a tent half the size next to this one , which is not full. There are also a few plants that i dont mind never reaching huge heights etc so each time they basal i will just chop back the main plant and start again :-)
@@penda1987i could not chop my plant, i want big plants! they regrow faster than the first growth, but still i wouldnt start back from basal, i want to see how big i can get them, then maybe after my death i could be choped off and feed to my plants....just kiding!lol! but i love big plants!
Lets fuckin go 🎉
