Great video. Same way i was taught years ago. I was surprised to find your video. And truly enjoy it for reference.
A different subject I know... I've never paper pieced. But curious what happens to the paper when the quilt is washed? I'm sure I'm missing something here 😉
So happy to find your video. I handstitched mine 20+ years ago just like yours. Decided to finish it . Your video makes it much easier.

I have followed instructions to do this quilt and my quilt pieces are puckering and not laying flat. I am trying to piece together blocks that my greatgrandmother already put together. I cut a template like you have from the block and I have marked seams but when I sew them they do not lay flat any suggestions?
Laneth, I just want to sincerely Thank You for this incredible video. I have a vintage grandmothers flower garden that my Great Grandmother started probably 50 or more years ago using lots of 30s floursak fabrics. I have wanted to finish putting the dozens of flowers and hexes she left unfinished. Your tutorial finally showed me the way the peicing fit together. So excited! Thank you again💗🧵🪡

I am so glad I found you and subscribed immediately. I started sewing my quilt a good 15 or more years ago. Mine too is hand sewn, but the hexagons are larger and all the flowers are identical because it is a horse theme. The center is black & the first surrounding row is white with black horses. The next surrounding row is this darker grey with I think a tiny dotted print. Can I do the next row of surrounding hexi’s to sew it together since the hexi’s are larger.? I know nothing about how to sandwich it together or finishing the edges. Also with the quilt pieces are six half hexi’s sewn but don’t know what that is to be used for. I have no idea where I learned how to sew this as there was no papers or quilt book with it and there was no internet when I sewed these pieces. Any help you could give me would be very appreciated.

Are these kits still available?
For the on-point square 2nd block, you say to cut that center square 3 3/16ths inch but the words on the screen say to cut it 3 5/16ths. Which one is it? I have been searching for a tutorial like this for many many years where I can just cut my fabric instead of paper piecing and instead of templates. Thank you so very much for this tutorial!!
It’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
