Having a clover studio comeback was def not on my mind for 2024. This is exactly what Capcom needs right now as well as outside of one or two exceptions, they've been in their creative bankruptcy era of just putting out constant sequels, remakes, re-imaginings and ports for over a decade now. While it is obvious that the OG Clover studio is gone along w/ the people who made it special, I hope the new Clover w/ the new gen and maybe some returning talent can honour what Clover was trying to do back then and continues it's idealogy of making new and fun IPs w/ experiences that people didn't know that they wanted. I am not super interested in a God Hand sequel or anything of that sort but rather take the ideas from it and make something new w/ just as much passion and love.
Very happy for the Okami fans to not only have goddess Amy return in a hopefully yet another awe inspiring adventure w/ her but also w/ the main director as well which is something I didn't expect to see at all. I hope they can pull off the heavily Stylized painterly aesthetic and Art Style of the OG Okami in the RE engine. I would selfishly prefer Kamiya to make the long awaited sequels for his creations esp. for Viewtiful Joe as VJ fans have been waiting for a conclusive end for a supposed trilogy at the time. I do not care about DMC's future and so I'd say Kamiya's limited time, talent and expertise (dude's old as hell) are better off in those long awaited sequel entry to wrap em up and then trying to go for new and fresh ideas instead of something really just lame like a OG DMC remake or something.

Some of the highlights or Zoomed in moments contextualized. 1:22 Snatch performed at Locked On target (Chimera Seed) but instead it interrupts Leg Scarecrow's incoming attack. The way Lock On interacts w/ multiple enemies in b/w Nero and the actual Locked on target is that the moves will treat the closest target as the desired target which means that all the moves like Streak, Calibur or in this case Snatch will prioritize the nearest enemy in the path instead. This also means the travel distance from moves like Streak, Calibur and Stinger gets cut prematurely before reaching the Locked On Target which as you may imagine is well annoying as hell but in this case it worked out. 2:26 Calibur movement towards Locked On target who was off axis slightly allowing Nero to evade the jumping attack from Leg Scarecrow. Sometimes DMC4 just has really specific and to the point accurate hitboxes that allow for nail biting cool interactions like that but make no mistake, this game has absolutely 'Inaccurate to BS' hitboxes on enemy moves (esp. the Bosses). 5:11 Risky gamble on a delayed Calibur to close the gap on an active Chimera Scarecrow. 8:25 Same Lock On target priority conflict thing. In this case instead of an enemy in the way or the path to the Locked On target, it's the needle pierce attack from Mephisto which catches the Charged Shot and gets deflected so I think even attacks that can be deflected or parried (which aren't as many prior to DmC as it pushed weapon deflects/parry way more and made it more of an actual thing instead of specific interactions upon which DMCV also follows that lead to a high degree) can get in the way. 9:40 Okay so this small bit was mostly me poking fun at the 'totally intentional and innovative' mechanic of DMC4 that is momentum or as the community called it as 'Inertia' (nerds out there trying to sound all smart huh). The way this thing works is that if in the Air, a move pushes Nero into one direction then Nero would maintain the forward moving momentum into said direction even if he's performing his moves but there are few moves that act as a 'Brakes' to that movement and they halt the momentum completely. Now how does a move gets decided to do that vs. moves that just follow the momentum?? no idea on the logic there. it makes sense to allow moves that chain like basic gunshots or Aerial Rave to follow momentum but then you have Yamato Rave which doesn't for some reason. The best argument I can think of for such is that to allow Dante to have more 'Brakes' outside of few moves that isn't on either DArms or Guns but why not just allow raw Guard to do that.. Nero's raw Rev already does that for him but that would mean losing out on guardfly which is also another 'totally intentional and innovative' mechanic as are everything else right. Why not let Nero have RevFly as an Intended and Innovative mechanic then?? cause Itsuno said FUCK YOU that's why (he literally did that for DMCV and even for 4SE characters). Anyways the point of that bit was to show Nero bouncing off the 'Puzzle' wall which causes him to go into an opposite direction in air and that momentum can be visibly seen maintained by using Raves as well BUT the moment I decide to use Roulette move something funny happens. The 'Inertia' causes him to go into the opposite direction towards the wall instead which is weird as Roulette move is also something that benefits from momentum and doesn't act as a 'brake' so in theory, it should've just kept Nero going into the initial bounced off direction. This kind of interaction isn't specific to Nero as Dante can also do that w/ an actual enemy too if he performs 'Skystar< JC (jumping away)< EnI gunshot' sequence as an example but if ya space out the gunshot then Dante would push towards the target even if he initially was moving away from the target (due to the jumping away part). In other words, this shit ain't even consistent. Note: Jumping into any one direction will also cause Nero/Dante to continue moving into and have momentum towards that specific direction if they use moves like Aerial Raves or Gunshots that keeps the momentum going until they use the 'Brake' moves. 10:02 Same Lock On target priority conflict and this time as well instead of Snatch pulling the Locked On target which is the chimera seed, it pulls the Leg Scarecrow in his jumping attack. 12:08 DENIED 12:13 Inertia + a little height boost gained from Charged Shot would have kept Nero going backwards and descend right into Mephisto's swipe but using Snatch as a 'brake' halts him at that little height gain and prevents his backwards movement which allows for a very cool evade. Gotta say that's pretty sus from Mephisto to queue up that swipe attack the moment I performed Charged Shot.. almost like he input read that shit there and was like OK if the player doesn't do anything after CS then they're getting hit (Team Ninja enjoyers know that feel all too well). 12:53 A satisfying on reaction DT to deny that Assault/Blade Vortex. 13:04 LOOK AT THAT TRACKING BRO 14:33 Just a CLEAN Shuffle lol 15:14 My boy Nero SSSwinging for the fences 16:08 Quite a disrespectful way to interrupt that dude lol
The edit of this episode is much longer than the previous episodes. There is a lot of added video. I haven’t seen Nina going to fight the giant robot in this episode. Maybe it will be in the next episode. I want to give you some advice. Do you have any plans to edit it? The editing of the big bosses you fight in each level seems pretty good. I really enjoyed watching the episode today. Thank you for your hard work.
Thanks for checking em out man. Sure if you'd like to give some advise then I wouldn't mind hearing them out. I've already finished the Normal playthrough so that means I'm done w/ all the bossfights including the very final Anna fight. I didn't include any boss fights in this small montage series (mostly due to my video capture and performance not being good enough like the Lana Lei fights that require even the change in renderer). One exception to that being Anna's very first fight at the worn down bridge as I was just trying out the ring out on her is all. Other than that I don't find the bosses to be interesting enough to put em in the montages or atleast I haven't found ways to make the fights entertaining enough to watch so far. After a break from Death by Degrees, I'd most likely continue this montage series w/ Hard mode NG+ though that's not something entirely set for me. Or I could also just go for Anna campaign run montage after this one and then go for that break. So I can't really say which one it's gonna be w/ certainty. Either way the next DbD montage from me would happen at some point in the next year.

Wow, this is a cut from episode 9. This episode is different from the previous episodes except that the level is from prison back to the cruise ship. The opponents Nina has to face have changed from soldiers to robot corps. The difficulty is much higher. But in this film Nina has a trick. It seems that you haven't shown it before. After Nina runs and jumps up, she will clamp the opponent with her legs to make the opponent fall to the ground and then break the opponent's ankle. Then Nina will grab the opponent's foot and break it in the opposite direction. And Nina Another cruel move is that one of Nina's kicks is to kick forward. If the opponent is in front of him, he will kick the opponent's lower body and the opponent will die in pain. The opponents in this game are all male. I'm curious about Nina's kick to the lower body. If he was kicked by the white-haired woman holding the fan, would he moan in pain and die?
I didn't know she can do something like that. Good observation there as I didn't notice that almost every enemy in the game outside of Anna and Lana Lei are all just dudes on the ship or the island.

I'm so excited now. I'm looking forward to your episode 9 clip. Will the level still stay in prison? I remember that after prison, I went back to the previous cruise, but it was already night. I really hope that before Nina can wear it in the cruise level. I like the black dress and the swimsuit. I like the wrestling outfit. Nina has a gray one with a hollow lower body and shorts. It looks good too.

This is a cut from episode 8. Does this episode show Nina's melee counterattack skills? It's great. I saw several counterattack moves. One of them was a move where the opponent used a fist to attack Nina. After Nina's attack, Nina grabbed the opponent's arm and knocked the opponent down. Pressing her to the ground and finally breaking her opponent's arm, I like to see this move. At the beginning, Nina was still wearing a gray diving suit. I'm curious, do you like Nina wearing this diving suit? In this game, only this diving suit is a real hidden costume. All other costumes will appear after passing the level. I have seen other players look like this after passing the level.
Nina's pretty savage when it comes to those reversal counterattacks. Yeah I do like the diving suit a lot even if we get it for a very small limited time in the overall game. The outfit select bag is available after finishing the last section so it's a cool New Game + bonus to have and I still got that last section of the game to go through but all in due time :)

Aw Thank you for the sweet comment. I'd like to put out more of my Art in the future but yeah this YT channel will mostly be about gaming side of things. As for God of War, it's a wonderful series from which I've played the OG, 2 and both of PSP entries in Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta over the course of last maybe year or two. So I am fairly new to the series overall and as such I got things to learn for sure. Prior to GoW, I didn't know I would even want to have Orchestral symphony as the soundtrack for these types of action games but damn they do it so well so hats off to both the past and present era composers of the GoW series.
Bad habit is still the funniest move in this game, I'm glade you use it more often now :D

Hehe yeah she can do that for the fun of things but I haven't reached that point of having that move unlocked as this is an ongoing New Game playthrough montage series. However I did unlock the 'throat clear focus restore' move which I look at as her Taunt after the recent DbD montage 07 so I'd probably use that a bit in the next one.
I will say I love God Hand and keep putting out some amazing content.

In this episode of the video, I saw that Nina’s real hidden costume in the game is a gray diving suit. He carries a yellow oxygen bottle on his back, but this costume is only worn briefly in the game. In the game, Nina stabs the opponent with a knife and then jumps She starts from the air and stabs the opponent, piercing the opponent's body, and the X-ray picture is very nice. Another move is that Nina approaches the opponent and attacks the opponent with her fist. After breaking the opponent's arm, Nina will turn around and grab the opponent's other arm. The arm ends up breaking both of the opponent's arms. This move is also very cool. I've seen it.

Zoom In highlights context:- 0:45 Samurai enemy goes for a rapid slash that Nina is able to stand her ground and deliver a clean slash to him to do damage plus avoid that attack altogether. This is something I stumbled upon w/ chance and it is a very ballsy way to deal w/ that attack as it comes pretty fast and will wipe the floor completely if mistimed even slightly. Does lead to a very animesque running samurai clashing moment though. 1:06 Normally Nina's grabs don't have any I-frames to em however as you can see the 'weapon steal' part of the grab appears to have em. Might need to mess around and test that more to make it sure but at least it's there in this vid if I ever wanted to quickly point that out to 3-4 DBD players out there in the world (Not even 'literally dozens of us' damn lol) 2:47 Whiffing the Focus Attack intentionally to avoid incoming Kunai from the back. Focus Attack does have I-Frames on it. I also may have found a way to cancel a Focus Attack at the cost of 1 bar but that needs more testing as well. Also in this moment I managed to stand my ground again on an incoming Rapid running slash attack from OFFSCREEN ! (goddamn dude that's some crazy luck there) 4:36 Again avoided that Rapid running slash attack and this time just like the last one I didn't even hit the attacker for it and still worked it out. The absolute disrespect on these samurai fools in this damn video haha. They should try living in the current century and use something else to attack Nina instead cause that bushido shit ain't lookin so hot. Heihachi really got just wannabe ninjas and samurais for his Tekken Force out there LMAO. 8:22 Just a very lucky insane read/prediction of wallrun attack towards an enemy ninja drop point. I was very hyped to actually capture that and grateful for not choking afterwards LOL. Major Highlights w/ the Zoom in moments contextualized:- 1:00 A bold Charge Shot evade on an incoming Mephisto's rapid swipe + getting a JC off to reset aerial options. 2:58 Raw buster on Angelo's shield also adds up to the 'shieldbreak' damage threshold for em while deflecting the buster attempt from Nero until it breaks which takes about 3 to (DMC) 4 of em. This was the first time when I've actually timed it well against an incoming shield attack to nullify it's effect and damage from it. I do need to test if DT'd raw buster on their shields break em faster or not comparatively but that's something for another time. 3:48 Using Spectral Daggers/Summon Daggers to interrupt an incoming leg scarecrow jump attack by double jumping to his height level and letting go of Lock On as that way those daggers will just shoot straight in front of Nero then relocking on to him and Charge Shot blowing him away (nice try legboi but miss me w/ that shit). 5:10 NOPEing the Mephisto's rapid swipe attack w/ DT (always fun to get that timing down right) 5:19 Casually running past Mephisto's Pin attack lol. 7:10 Making Frost stand in the air during an aerial combo breaking the famed 'DMC4Gravity™'. 7:52 Doing it again w/ an another Frost this time LMAO ..might be something up w/ that spot. 11:55 Hit trade w/ Alto Angelo but CLEAN DT I-frame through the receiving damage portion of that exchange. 16:53 Disrespectfully dancing + JCing on top of an active leg scarecrow jump attack. 18:09 DT avoidance of an incoming leg scarecrow jump attack while still continuing & finishing the combo on the locked on target (just Awareness things) 22:41 Spectral/Summon Daggers interrupt on leg scarecrow jump attack again (this one was pretty close legboi not gonna NGL but STILL miss me again w/ that shit). 23:53 Anti airing Bianco Angelo's incoming spear thrust attack while hitting the locked on target (Why yes the ground based fundamentals heavy neutral that DMC4 is known for).

I want to ask you how many times did you play this game in order to make a video like this, because I noticed that the screen kept restarting.
I don't think I understand entirely w/ what you're asking exactly so I'll be giving a few broad answers instead if that's fine. How many times have I played this game? Overall maybe 5-6 times over the course of last 3-4 years on all difficulties including both 'New Game' and 'New Game Plus' for those difficulties. New Game on Expert is quite a challenge in this game that even felt unfair and ridiculous at times when I did it probably two years ago. Whereas NG+ is just a fun time regardless. I can't really say I actively "grind" or play this game all the time as I do for say something like God Hand, DmC and DMC4 (they just too fun). How many times in terms of attempts to gather these clips? In general A LOT but for this vid, I gathered all the footage over the course of 1 maybe 2 days of playing around for a few hours. There's unused footage as well that I'd probably release down the line for not just this one but prior ones as well. Usually I go for a retry whenever I'm not satisfied w/ the clip more so which does lengthen the whole process more than what it needs to be mostly due to the part that straight up I'm not really that good lol. Still figuring out on how to Style and all in this one as I do see the potential. I don't know about 'the screen kept restarting part' as that's mostly just video transitional editing to stitch together the scenes so that they flow better for the montage. I hope that answers your question.
I'm sorry for confusing you with my question. I'm very curious about why the previous episode and this one are still stuck at the prison level, and Nina is still wearing a purple fighting suit. I rarely see anything like this on TH-cam. Players who play like you can play like you. There are only a few players in yt who can play like this. In the last episode, I saw Nina wearing a swimsuit. You also used Nina's two melee skills with a knife. One move was his. The knife stabs the opponent, and then kicks the opponent away. Another move is that Nina stabs the opponent with the knife first, then jumps up and stabs the opponent from the air, killing the opponent. That move is very cool. Will you continue this game?

I'm still on the prison/island section as it's quite the long middle chapter and I'm trying to showcase most if not all encounters along the way. Those 2 melee katana finishers are very brutal yeah. I'm happy to see that there's people out there checking them out along with either potentially giving the game a shot if they haven't or going for a replay. So Yes, I will be continuing with my Death By Degrees montages soon.

Sorta. I'm very satisfied with your gameplay. I've always seen you use Nina to catch the opponent and attack the opponent with fists. After that, he grabbed the opponent's arm and broke it, then turned back, grabbed the opponent's other arm, and finally broke the opponent's arm. The trick of folding with both hands is very cool. The point is that this video finally shows Nina in her swimsuit.

In this game, Nina has a move. After approaching the opponent, she will kick the opponent three times. Then Nina will grab the opponent's arm from the side and break it. Then she will catch the opponent in front of her and use a forward roll to throw the opponent to the ground. Finally, grab the opponent's leg on the ground and break it, and an X-ray picture will appear. I like this move very much. It's cool and cool.
Sounds cool. I haven't explored much of her Grappling move extensions but maybe I should :)

Hey happy to hear that ya enjoyed it. That is really my only "issue" w/ this island section as a lot of areas look very similar so yea prison like setting all over the place. As for her swimsuit section, it's not like it can be skipped or anything so yea it'd be there when it's the time for it.. gonna be real painful dealing w/ Zaibatsu ninjas barehanded though lol.

I really hope you continue playing this game. I like your gameplay very much. It’s master level.
I do plan to make more montages at least for this normal playthrough while I explore and learn more about the game and the character. I've played the game a few times over the years in all difficulties and even went for both new game and new game plus for harder modes. Mostly was thinking of this normal playthrough as a way of re-familiarizing myself back w/ how the game is to prep for potential FreeStyle videos in Extreme difficulty. So rest assured there will be more of these montages in the future as I do want to do my best to showcase this game in case anyone else is curious about it but is on the fence about it. That is the major reason in general not just specific to DBD as to why I even started w/ this YT thing and sharing stuff even though for the longest time I mostly kept it to myself and also if my quality is very much potato tier lol. In this game, I really liked Nina’s little black dress, swimsuit, and wrestling outfit. These three outfits were all very nice. Now I don’t like this purple fighting outfit.
Those 3 are some good choices. While I'm not a big fan of Nina herself but she does well w/ pretty much every outfit in this game. If I were to pick a favourite then it'd either be the first dress/cocktail dress or the very last battle suit. Honourable mention to the Tekken 2 low poly outfit as well in terms of aesthetics. Also would've loved to have the diving suit available as well lol maybe a modder in the future can figure that out.

Thank you, you're very kind. Nina's 'basic abilities' and the 'melee stance' movelist are very good. I'm still hoping to showcase more of them when I unlock more moves as well. Funnily enough I'm running into the issue of enemies dying too quickly lol. She's really good w/ the weapons too even if it's more limited compared to the prior mentioned movelists, it's still a nice addition to her moveset overall.

I know you state in the description that this montage shouldn't be viewed as a showcase of your skills, but I can't help but applaud you for seeming to have a thorough grasp of Nina's moveset and, by extension, the infamously frustrating control scheme. Kudos to those who are able to get used to it, but Death by Degrees would have been a hundred times better with no fixed camera angles, shorter load times, which should go without saying when you consider how powerful today's gaming systems are, and a control scheme akin to the following: Bayonetta Urban Reign Scenario Campaign/Online Co-op from Tekken 6
Wonderful comment and Thank you :) Hopefully in the future I can make a better showcase w/ more of the moveset unlocked. I do agree w/ the game overall being in a much better state if it controlled more like action games even at it's time (NG04, OG DMC, Bujingai) but perhaps the devs wanted to take some risks and try their hand at something different. It obviously didn't work out for majority of the players. I will say that even as the controls as they are in the game it's not in an unplayable state or anything but rather moreso inaccessible requiring quite some playtime to get going. I understand that's a hard thing to ask from someone if they're already fighting w/ controls from get go as it is quite unorthodox and frankly weird lol. It's mostly an experimental side game of Tekken that surprisingly has quite the ambition and the budget to it so I can't even say they half assed it or anything. It feels more like a case of creative risks were taken but failed in their execution as well as they hoped for. I can still respect that. A modern remake is what I hear the very rare few fans of this cult classic have been asking for a long time and I can see this game's potential more realized w/ such while having the streamlined control scheme most players are used to and a fully free form camera (though oddly enough this game does mostly have that but in it's own weird way as well).
