The Ultimate SPITFIRE Showcase over Southern UK in MSFS2020
The Flying Iron Simulations MK IXC Super Marine SPITFIRE on full display over southern United Kingdom in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
@FlyingIronSimulations -- Check them out!
flyingironsimulations.com/blogs/news/msfs-spitfire-update-1-4-0-is-here
^^ Featured in this video is the new FlyingIron Spitfire Update (1.4.0) ^^
From the development team: "Today we're excited to announce that the latest major update for the Spitfire is now available from our website! This update is the culmination of several months of working with the RAF's Battle of Britian Memorial Flight (BBMF) team. The BBMF have 6 Spitfires in their impressive collection of Warbirds, with thousands of hours of flight experience in the cockpit between them. We've been fortunate enough to work closely with the team; collecting feedback and observations from them as they put our Spitfire simulation through its paces.
Thanks to the expertise of the BBMF, we have been able to finetune our simulation to the highest degree possible - no aspect of the flight envelope has been left untouched! We are happy to say with full confidence that our Spitfire is flying just like the real thing, as confirmed by active Spitfire pilots using it for training! The flight model, engine & ground handling have all been refined to meet pilot feedback, with several of our custom aerodynamics systems being reworked & expanded to increase realism. To succinctly paraphrase BBMF pilot 'Disco' - "Power is on point, ground handling is also ... overall, well chuffed!"
Embark on an awe-inspiring aerial expedition as we delve into the soaring legacy of the legendary Spitfire. In this video, set against the backdrop of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, we trace the flight path of this iconic aircraft over the scenic landscapes of Southern United Kingdom. Come along as we discover the remarkable history of the Spitfire, from its origins to its heroic role in World War II.
Our adventure takes flight near the bustling city of London, where the sparkling River Thames beckons and sets the stage for an unforgettable journey. As the unmistakable sound of the Merlin engine resonates within the cockpit, we venture towards the southeast.
Gliding gracefully over the picturesque cityscape, we catch a glimpse of the monumental Canterbury Cathedral, a living testament to the rich cultural heritage of England. It stands as a poignant reminder of the countless Spitfire sorties launched from nearby airfields during the war, bravely defending the skies above.
Leaving the city behind, our flight path guides us to the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Dover. A symbol of national pride and a testament to Britain's indomitable spirit, these iconic cliffs witnessed many aerial clashes during the Battle of Britain. Here, the Spitfire soared with unmatched grace, engaging in legendary dogfights against the Luftwaffe as they sought to protect these skies and secure victory.
As we hug the coastline, the pristine beaches of Southern UK come into view. Glistening under the warm sun and echoing with the stories of wartime resilience, these shores bear witness to the countless takeoffs and landings of RAF fighters, including the Spitfire. They served as important bases for coastal defense, providing critical support during pivotal moments in history.
The flight finally brings us to the historic RAF Tangmere, a former airfield that played a crucial role in the defense of Southern UK. Once buzzing with Spitfires and the skillful hands that flew them, Tangmere serves as a reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of all those who served their nation.
The video concludes with a tribute to the Spitfire and its enduring legacy, a symbol of British engineering prowess and the gallantry of the men who rose to the skies in its wings.
Join us on this cinematic voyage through time, celebrating the Spitfire's remarkable history and the beauty of Southern UK in MSFS2020. Fasten your seatbelts, hold on tight, and prepare to be captivated by the magic of flight and the indelible mark left by this extraordinary aircraft. (When I tell you the drone camera was tilted the entire time I was recording. you won't unsee it... lol)
I'm using the VIRPIL CM3 Throttle, WarBrd base and Alpha Constellation Grip. Captured in 2560x1440p with a GEFORCE RTX 3070 at 60fps. The music is from Epidemic Sound.

      This is in the Swiss Alps. To follow this video, you can take off from Geneva, fly to the eastern corner of the lake and head southeast into the valley. From there, you can freely explore the mountains. It's one of my favorite places to fly a Jet in the sim.

    Which of the models is the easiest to fly? I've been using the F-18 for fast flying in my home country. I love to do some tricks and play around and watch the scenery. Is any other fighter jet in this game even more easy to fly?

    At super sonic speeds the computer assisted fly by wire slows down your ability to pitch and roll rapidly (the real F-22 computer probably does this to reduce G-forces on the pilot). With this video it looks like your roll rate is pretty fast while super sonic at low altitudes, are you using the option that gives you raw fly by wire control (un-aided by the computer) that takes away thrust vectoring?

    Really nice. Every time I see the F-22 I think "What a badass plane. It's just too bad it's not the F-23." But... Both were/are before their time. It's crazy 20+ years later it's still top dawg. It's also sad that so few were made. I know costs are an issue but with all of the content and products made around the F-22, surely it justifies and has paid for the associated higher costs. The USAF needs to license its hardware. It doesn't have to cost anything, but they should track how much tax revenue it would have made. The same is true for NASA. How much did Microsoft pay for the rights to use the F-22......$0 I bet, which is fine but they should have to get permission.
