Very informative.. When checking push buttons ..on ohms scale ..slowly push in button..it will engage..continue slowly pushing in button and watch your meter ..if meter is bouncing around as you push in till it dead heads ...your start button is bad ... Good luck...

Hi, Great video. I am having a problem with my 82 seca, I keep losing power to one of my coil packs and the bike goes down to 2 cylinders. It has been a pain to try and find as it does it randomly it could be hot or cold, I have checked all the connections and plugs and I still can't find out what is happening with it.

Ok. I have a problem where j cant get it to run. Itll crank but it wont start, it's getting spark, oil is fine, everything's been synced, but it seems like it's still not getting enough fuel

My 81 750 does the same thing push the button and nothing

Thanks so much for taking the time to show us how to repair this bike. Turns out, my issue was the faulty solenoid and the stator had to be replaced. Stator a little time consuming to do but the Maxim starts up instantly every time!

Hey so just bought an 83 XJ550 and the starter button is missing. The blue and black wires were also cut and I can’t start it although I am getting power when I turn the key. If I just connect the blue and black wires would that be like pressing the starter button and start the engine?

Wouldn't happen to know why the headlight may not receive power? (Turn signals ain't working correctly either)

hey I drope my bike and land it on my right hand side and now won't start , only if is on gear one press the clutch and the start bottom push the bike and release the clutch if I'm lucky if start .. help please

i have the exact same bike, is cranking but not turning over. i put the jump box on and it started right up. got a new battery on the way hoping that fixes the problem. thoughts?

Thankyou, am sorry but am am not a smart bloke so please bear with me, when i hit the ignition swith i am just getting a click over and over again av changed spark and chaned battery, it a suzuki savage 650 and this problem is taxing my head, the solinoid is moving so i really dont know, any ideas?

any help would be appreciated I have a no spark issue and when the bikes on the lift by rotating the tire the headlight is dimming , and once in awhile I hear a relay click and the bike has spark . it's a xj550 1982 thx f or your video it help
