      Thank you for watching! And same, I love this series. Highly recommend The Party Crasher and Twenties Girl if you haven't read those by Kinsella either! The Party Crasher reminded me of Confessions of a Shopaholic but with a whole new cast of characters. The main character Effie had major Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) vibes. That's a neat idea to revisit the series. I hadn't though about it, but could look at doing a Shopaholic ranking or more in-depth reviews of the books.

      I have read You Shouldn't Have Come Here and did not love it because I was not expecting it to be more focused on the romance. It felt like the thrilling elements were thrown in at the end instead of being a bigger part of the plot. It could have been a great cat and mouse read, but I didn't gel with it. Rosalie's Twilight character is full of potential in the film, deliberately suppressed so that she is not likable in the books, she is a bit more, but she wants to read her lines and analyze between the lines and the plot, which is strongly sexist Edward, who did not come through their first meetings. For me, it is Meyer who has caused raped women to be seen as dirty, superficial, without the right to their own pain and opinion. She even uses Jacob and Edward - (the one who reads her thoughts, including the traumatic ones) in Breaking Dawn as a weapon against women who deviate from men's ideas. Really, killing or judging the perpetrators of violence will never heal the rape, especially when the environment imposes on them how they should behave properly or that they should not be so "beautiful", try asking them.

    • @sarcasticstephaniereadswrites
      @sarcasticstephaniereadswrites หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are great points and I so agree that Rosalie was so full of potential and in the hands of a different author would have made for a badass heroine. She lost everything she wanted, she did not want to be a vampire, but has embraced her life (or undead state) as it is and makes the most of it. She's found a partner who is her equal, she indulges in her hobbies of fixing cars, and while she got her revenge she never fully gave into being a monster. She did not consume them to keep the men responsible for her pain with her. And the whole notion of "she's beautiful, what did she expect? Maybe she shouldn't have been so pretty." Disgusting. And yes, on Edward and his telepathy. I mean he never uses it for anything good. He could have saved Bree or at least warned her of what would happen to her. He knows the pain Rosalie has suffered and basically told Carlisle she's the worst and now they're stuck with her. I also did not love the idea that Carlisle was hoping she'd hook up with Edward... not a great reason to be saving her, my guy.

    Two-thirds of the way through the audio book at 2x speed and I totally agree. This is a stupid book and a complete waste of time. As the author stated in an interview, it’s a (tiresome) exploration of the madonna/whore complex, sometimes literally as in the whole aside about Mary. The only funny-ish bits were Margo’s Pokémon dick reviews. Thanks for confirming it’s not worth finishing.

I know for sure I was tuning in each week during season 3 because I remember Prue's death vividly and wondering what was going to happen. I've probably watched seasons 1-5 at least seven or eight times. I've seen season 6 twice, as it does have some good episodes. I just don't have that season downloaded like I do the others. I wouldn't mind it in my rotation, but I'm also not going to go out of my way to buy it. I watched season 7 once, and I checked out the first few episodes of 8 and noped right out of that.

    Thank you! Somebody with an honest review! After hearing so many five star reviews I got this book and was so excited to read it. It ended up taking me about four tries to finish it. Awful. I like Will Dean but this wasn’t it. I gave it ⭐️. If I could’ve given it less I would’ve. 🤦🏿‍♂️
