Better late than never. I owned a 1984 Venture and rode the bike for about 20 years. Towards the end, the motor would just not develop enough power to get the bike over 60 mph. I did a bit of research and understood the rubber diaphragms in the carburetorsdeveloped small holes and that resulted in the loss of power. I never did take the engine apart to check but sold the bike instead. If anyone can either confirm or deny the issue I described, please do so. It might help those looking to address the loss of power issue. Ben Price - San Antonio

Better gas milage comes from a good CO, carbon monoxide, setting of the carbs. As seen in this movie. This is best left to an experienced mechanic. Also new air filter, the correct oil and oil filter gives a smoother ride.
