This video is the culmination of about three months of creating and filming and even more time editing and putting together. It is the documented complete work of making the entire collection from start to finish.
I was a Fashion Designer selected to show at Fleurish Knoxville for Spring 2024 at the benefit for Ijams. "Fleurish is a collaborative runway show showcasing how sustainability, conservation, and beauty intertwine with our lives and our future." I designed a 9-piece, 3-look collection within the Funk-themed line-up. This collection was created over the course of about 3-months, where I drew together a multitude of sustainable resources to create this beautiful, fun, and funky collection.
My sustainable fashion was created using the following:
* Fabric scraps from a local library that was closing its' doors on the sewing program.
* Feathers ethically sourced from our farm and hand-dyed with foraged poke berries.
* Fabric and cord pieces from an estate sale out of Montana.
* Pressed and dried flowers from Michigan.
* Several fabric pieces came from the Sustainable Fabric Workshop in Knoxville.
* Fabric and embellishments that were left over from several friends' weddings.
* Various fabric pieces, scraps, embellishments, and jewelry leftover from my previous projects.
