High front fender on the G310GS
Today's rainy day project was converting the front hugger style fender on the #bmwmotorrad #g310gs to a high split fender. This is just the first installation and quick wet ride, but so far I'm really pleased with the outcome.

    Very cool. I have a 9" Samsung Tablet mounted on top of a Pelican dry box on my handlebars that I use as a glove box, in lieu of a tank bag. The large Samsung tablet runs OSMand offline GPS navigation, with street, contour and elevation maps for all of the United States. I also use the tablet to connect to the LX Bluetooth OBDII dongle, not so much for troubleshooting as I've had my G310GS for four years and 10,000 miles and haven't had any trouble, but to reset the SERVICE annunciator on the display when I perform the annual maintenance. I just added a rally tower bar above the display where I'll be mounting a rear view display from a front/rear digital video recorder that records all the time I'm riding. The rear view display in my visual scan will allow 360 degree situational awareness rather than trying to use the mirrors which are not that useful and have a large blind spot behind me. With all of the safety innovations on motorcycles - ABS, active traction control, lean angle sensors that allow a computer to brake to prevent a low side or high side as it's happening, intelligent cruise control, automated braking - I can't believe that bikes don't have rear view displays. I think this is an example of regulators requiring mirrors and ignoring much better and safer technology.

    Hi, thank you for this interesting video. Tell me if you have to associate in bluetooth, the controller to your device each time you power on your bike ? And does the controller remember the key mode configured at the power of, at the next power on ? Because I have this controller too and I have to associate it to my device in bluetooth and change the key mode to F1 (by pressing + and - buttons together) at each power on of my bike (starts allways in F2 mode). Thank you for your answers. My device is a Blackview BV9200 in Android 12. Otherwise, this controller is really great !

      @AndysAddictions 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @patrickpsaume2425 thanks for the comment. Regarding the Bluetooth connection, no, I don't need to pair the controller each time... it's actually amazingly fast to connect to the tablet each time I turn it on. And while I can't remember if I'm in f1 or f2, I never need to change anything. My only suggestion is to make sure you're using the latest firmware for the controller.

    Hi, I'm a long term Storm Bee (3 years) and now an Ultra Bee (2 years) owner. I'm trying to find replacement front disk pads for the Storm Bee. The originals work but they got a bit contaminated by a fork oil leak. So they lack the power they should have but not dangerously so. I ordered some front disk pads from China but they sent me the Ultra Bee ones instead. Not a disaster because I can eventually use them on my Ultra Bee. But I still need the Storm Bee pads sooner or later. Any thoughts on a supplier? Greetings from a Brit in Mongolia. The mini fairing allows some adjustment of the screen position, which gives it the edge over my previous set ups. I am also quite tall...so I would need to go higher to get my helmet clear of the wind...but I don't feel I really need to.

    • @AndysAddictions
      @AndysAddictions ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely just do this same thing with the oem bolt and carry an Allen key. As I often flip the sensor depending on riding conditions, I just opted for a quick release style fastener. Just be aware that when you first flip the sensor it takes a few minutes of riding for the abs to finish its diagnostic mode (abs light flashes), during which you will have no speedometer or front abs. Once the abs light stops flashing and stays illuminated, you will have your speedometer back and front abs. Every time you turn off the ignition, this will process will repeat. So if I can, I leave the ignition on and shut the bike down with the kill switch. Obviously this is only good for short stops.

Combination of fire roads, technical climbs and single track. My longest distance was a combination of country backroads and dirts roads. @@AndysAddictions damn, i really want to get one! really impressive looking electric bike (and of what's available was my pick from what i've researched) and was seriously considering getting one but i simply need much more range like twice that minimum (particularly for the idea of also using it as a high speed commute vehicle where i can't charge it at the destination). I'd buy a spare battery to swap and charge for weekend riding no worries. just not viable when you're not riding in a loop or return trips (or too far for return). i'm really looking forward to future battery technology breakthroughs. guess i'll have to stick with ICE's a bit longer until then or my circumstances change. thanks a lot for this information! it's a bit hard to find good information (that's not excessively optimistic) about highway / high speed travel range tests for this model. i really appreciate the data. also great job with the videos and working together with the community weeding out issues and finding good mods!

      @KILLERCHIEF realistically the best use case for this bike is why I bought mine...I wanted something quiet for cutting laps in my backyard. Being road registered, it's then great for running errands and the like. I also now have an ICE adventure bike for the all day rides... the thing is, I just wish it was as quiet as the electric. There's definitely something to be said for minimal noise when off road. Let's hope we soon have batteries that can give us the best of both worlds!

      I normally head in from near the MTB parking area. Then head along Cypress Rd, and then from memory you keep to the left on Cliff Rd. It eventually turns to single track and comes out on Glencoe Rd to the south.

    Hi I recently just bought a storm bee and I was wondering if I needed to remove the battery when washing??

    • @AndysAddictions
      @AndysAddictions ปีที่แล้ว

      For me, it depends how much of a mess it is. When it's really muddy, I remove the battery and put plastic bags with rubber bands over the connectors on the bike side. I only use high pressure on the fenders and similar parts. Then I just use normal hose pressure most other places and avoid blasting anything that looks electronic. If it's not too grubby I leave it all assembled.

    How do you get the white cover over the coolant bottle? It has two black rivet looking things. Do they just pull out? What coolant did you use? Is it standard engine coolant?

    • @AndysAddictions
      @AndysAddictions ปีที่แล้ว

      For coolant the manual states to use an ethylene glycol coolant...I used a regular automotive ethylene glycol coolant from Penrite. Hope that helps!

    • @AndysAddictions
      @AndysAddictions ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Francisco, the white panels are held in place worth a cable tie and the two black plastic expanding rivets. For the expanding rivets you will notice raised circle in the centre... you can use a small flat blade screw driver to pry that centre piece out a little. This then allows the whole rivet to be removed. If you google "plastic expanding rivet" you will see what I mean. Hope that helps!

    • @franciscoshi1968
      @franciscoshi1968 ปีที่แล้ว
