We have seen Mycobacterium in nature and in aquaria....because it comes originally out of nature (I have seen it in Wild Cardinal Tetra) but the fish only get sick when their immune system collapsed due to many reasons, such as poor water quality, overcrowding, etc. Some fish can live well with a somewhat small infection(?). Same for the fish keeper: you get only infected when you do not take properly care with wounds or poor hygienic matters! Prevention is better than cure!

As studies showed it is frozen or live food that can be risk. See my videos on this matter

@@GeraldBassleer Is thee any way we can kill the bacteria in frozen foods before we offer to the fish? Some say to put in the microwave on high for 15 seconds. Would that be safe? Any other way? Thanks.

@@Alex_Correa Thanks for the question! I know that only good heating & cooking kills the bacteria in the food! This is why granulates are made with heating to provide a food guarantee free of bacteria! A bacterial test (agar plate culture) after 15 seconds microwave should be a good test but I presume it depends on the thickness and quality of the product and Watt-intensity of microwave.

Yes, a correct diagnosis helps to find the real cause and to implement the correct treatment!

Thanks for sharing your efforts to treat! Camallanus, if correctly diagnosed, spreads easily in an aquarium! Treatments must have the exact dosage (certainly not over-dosing what many do!) and also repeated to kill the baby larvae worms! Follow the correct instructions (as in my books explained) and you will be succesfull.

@@GeraldBassleer oh wow are you sure, most common say they lose all their goodies rather quick. So its definitively dry since I always use the tiny spoon thing, but it's not cool. room temp in the kitchen is 15C+ in winter and up to 37C in summer. any significant impact under those circumstances? thank you very much for the reply and the great product!

Yes hot temperatures are more risk but normal minor loss quality vitamins

Dear, the white stringy poo could be diferent origins, as I explained in my different videos! It could be the food, parasites or bacteria! I would recommend stop feeding live and frozen food and change to DR. BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD LAPACHO or GARLIC, perfect for Angelfish

Did is very difficult to answer! You need to check all possible causes...Maybe check with your supplier/aquarium shop, or ask a fish doctor or Vet? I wish it was so easy to give an adequate answer! @@GeraldBassleer I already talked to my supplier and they only said "maybe it's stress or bacterial infection" but I don't think it's stress, bacterial infection? Maybe. The thing that's bothering me is just the fact that the only males died and the females are totally fine. I appreciate the response though thank you. 👍

Yes, correct that the Rainbwfish are very susceptable as species to infection with Mycobacterium! Prevention is better than cure!

Because many doctors are not well informed about risks and immunity of people, and do not perform the proper testing nor asking the good questions. One of the reasons: it is rare to catch this infection...and they are not used to perform such diagnosis...because it is rare! As a fish keeper you should talk to your doctor about the (very small but) possible risks of aquarium fish disease.

You can try. All efforts with our food could be useful.

UV is not used for treatment. It only eliminates the bacteria passing through the tube. Use good functional food like our DR.BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD FUCO and maybe an antibiotic. Temperature max 24°C

Thanks! No fish cannot be allergic to each other (so far we know) but they can bring along pheromones, bacteria, virusses, etc. that might influence other fish

This all depends on your biofiltration= the larger (& well maintained) the better! The more you feed, the bigger the fish, the larger the fish stock, etc. the larger the filter must be! Ask advice in your aquarium shop!

Better to go for Rainbow's than Discus. Discus are difficult to manage in a closed environment. Hybrids ( tank bred ) discus have different immunity related problems. Wild Discus are better than tank bred bcz in the wild or open environment these fishes go through numerous seasonal conditions through which they adapt and mould their immune systems.

@@rajadey4919 Interesting reply and feedback! But I presume that succesfull Discus breeders will not to change to start breeding Rainbow fish....especially when you learn the financial $$$ benefit from Discus.
