    I use this turbo Maxspeedingrods on my R33 GTST RB25DET. Is it absolutely necessary to run the water through it? Rn its oil cooled only because I am missing the water pipes on my engine (got it this way). It works fine. I have the engine out rn and wondering if to have my mechanic install the water feed. Thanks

    Hey, I'm trying to get my 05 C6 manual Corvette patched up and I don't have the knowledge or equipment to replace the transmission cooler lines myself, but luckily, Ive found a shop willing to put in some aftermarket hoses (GM doesn't make replacement lines anymore) but I gotta buy the materials. I basically have to replace all the lines in the car and I really don't know what the difference between types of ateel braided lines, is there a specific one I should buy? And do you know what size fittings I'll need for them?

    Question, on your water feed do you by chance have a diagram on how you did yours? I have TT LS C10 I’m build and I can’t find information on plumbing the water lines. Most diagrams are for hondas and single turbos. Thank you!

    JD 4310 starter. No room to see engine block side bolt. No room for extension with piping and hoses. Cursing engineers! Practically tore things to pieces and finally got it out. Then realized I had to install it which proved worse than removal. Damm engineers! Did I say that already? Finally found your fix!! Second option except I tied the extension and socket to back side of starter with some thin twine. Put the starter carefully in place with threads now jamming into bolt hole. Attached ratchet and after a couple of turns the threads caught! Hallelujah. You’re the best!

    Mine is identical to the one in your video. My problem is it won't turn off. i can use the forward, reverse, as a switch but that is dangerous. Trigger moves without any trouble, but it just won't turn off when the trigger is released. A replacement switch is unavailable and listed as obsolete. Thanks

    Hey brother. Quick question. I am reusing head bolts M11x1.25x 93. I am torquing down to specs(72ft lbs) . I think some bolts have stretched but I cannot get bokts for about two weeks. If I add some washers to the bolts will that help get the correct torque . Adding washers since bolt holes on block bottom out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    All bad lol … that’s going to fuck up ur thread in bolt hole , and he did it with a drill

      @khaosgarage1118 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK not sure why you think that, care to explain and would appreciate no cussing? You do know what a thread tape is right? This is the same concept. Oh and yes a drill with 100's of threads per hole if used correctly is a very very large time saver. Videos here like mine are a way to achieve a goal like most lessons in life you should learn from all you can and of course find your own way. hope you have a positive learning day!

    • @khaosgarage1118
      @khaosgarage1118 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate you responding and that's an understandable reason for thinking that but I use a Dewalt .045 Metal cutting wheel, DW8424B5.They pitch this as a no burring when cutting product, as it cuts it polishes the edges. From the years of using them during my fabrication work I would agree. I have never had to wire brush or grind any burs off after cutting with one. Again appreciate your response as others may have similar thoughts.

      Hopefully you’ll see this…but are you running without the radiator cover shroud? I’m working on my 94 LT1 and I’m hitting clearance issues with the CAI even with a small 2.5” pipe. I’m thinking removing the radiator shroud and running without it may give me clearance I need? Bear in mind…NOT a mechanic, but trying on my own car. 🙂

    I have an old Honda cafe racer, and just "overhauled" the top. Valves were sooted like badly. My problem is, when I tried to turn my 8 bolts back, I "feel" there's greasy, sooted bits of sand down there. I will definetly try this method! Nice video. Thanks!

    Dont use a restrictor on a journal bearing Turbo. There not necessary. As for a bearing Turbo dont guess on restrictor size. Go steaight to the experts at TurboSmart and install a TurboSmart OPR. Restrictors have been obsolete for some time now. About your twin Turbo orientation, why did you not purchase a turbo for one side or the other that has opposite/reversed entrance and exit? Your currently running two of the same turbo on a v8 configuration? Precision Turbo has Turbos in any directional orientation you need. Just asking......

    • @khaosgarage1118
      @khaosgarage1118 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Budget is always the devil of all builds, when building for yourself is one thing but building for a person who doesn't do this is another, unfortunately.. Yes the current turbos don't need restrictors in most cases, but always confirm this for your self. What requirements change constantly and as I mention please always refer to the manufacture for required parts for correct assemble. Plus, It was recommended by the manufacturer to use one on these turbos. They were designed off an old model garrett and had a rare thread to boot. So since recommended I installed but appreciate your comment, excellent info and questions!

    Hey mate, thanks for the vid. Can I put the groove in the bolts with a grinder and cutting disc?

    • @khaosgarage1118
      @khaosgarage1118 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, that a perfect question thanks for asking. You could use a grinder if it has a very sharp edge but you really don't want a wide gap. This could cause damage to the threads. So best to stick with a cutting wheel/disc style if possible.

    Thanks man. Great information. Btw, Is it common to get exhaust gas leaking out from a turbo back into the coolant system. Some Ford eco's have a secondary cooling circuit via a small auxillary 12v pump to just cool the turbo water jacket, even after switch off. If there is good cylinder/headgasket pressures on test and all other things considered, could a damaged turbo/seal give similar coolant loss symptoms to a leaky headgasket/cracked head/cracked liner/block y'think?

    • @khaosgarage1118
      @khaosgarage1118 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay but depending on the amount of damage just as a head gasket loss a turbo could allow that if the damage is extreme enough. But typically no this shouldn't happen. That pump is working like a turbo delay would but is pumping water also not just running the engine longer. This is very important in order to extend turbo life, cooling them after use is very important.
