and PSE had customers out 3-4 WEEKS! Thats with mutual assistance crews assisting in recovery. Tacoma is very fortunate to have such a robust system and dedicated hardworking Linemen and support staff and cut outage to ONE week.

I think the storm in the mid 80's, where we were down to single digits at night, was pretty interesting. It took out my neighborhood circuit, along with the North Slope (where the upper echelon of TPU lived) for about 14 days. All the overhead lines were "over built" and the replacement project for the substation on Alder was well in design.

I'm a new hire conductor over at BNSF, and was working in the Tacoma yard while this was happening. I heard TR's dispatcher making a comment over the radio regarding this move, and I couldn't help but get a big grin on my face. Way to go guys!
