Silat - The Reality Of Knife Disarms Do They WORK?
This is a fantastic approach as long as the other guy is slow, uncoordinated and possibly intoxicated.
People just wanna be Asians.
I like Muay Thai . Cause it’s straight forward all 8 limbs sometimes 9 limbs and we just bang..none of that slow motion stuff… back in the 80’s and 90’s it was cool . Now it’s 2024 and a few more weeks 2025.
He could poke your eyez out with that toucan beak
what seperates silat from other martial arts is that the other guy must also know silat for it to work...
So you slip a punch and punch back…… Nothing new or impressive. The form is just goofy.
Test that shitlat in a cage against an average MMA fighter and see what happens
What seperates silat from other disciplines, is that they have no champions in any full contact combat sport
And thats why there have been so many successful UFC fighters who use it. If this nonsense worked, you would see it being used.
What in the Steven Seagal did I just watch
BS
It's so effective there have been zero Silat champions in the ufc. This crap is harmful to viewers and dangerous for anyone that subscribes to being able to do this crap. Ever seen a puncher leave his arm out there for someome to play patty cake with it?
Came to say the same thing. MMA showed us what arts work, and which ones dont.
Silat is to kill, not for entertainment? Theres rules to MMA, theres no rules for Silat and outside engagement. Silat immobilize the person.
Wanna beat someone like this? use faints and make reads. Remember guys stick to basics, they’re that basics for a reason. Example, faint right straight to hook left high, this guy would have his hands down and you’d cross his face with a hook.
Every art looks good in slow motion
Imagine a judo guy that close to you
Imagine a wrestler
Tournament fighters are clueless. This is not for the narrow minded
You mean those literally testing what they think works vs what other people think works in live combat? How could they be clueless?
This is the fruitiest shit I’ve ever seen
No
Mcdojo I’m sure Steven segal is an expert in this as well😂
This is definitely BS 😂
That's perfectly fine technique to use even as a rangefinder that's just giving away ground to your enemy and allowing to have valuable ground for a mere chance of Defending it makes no sense
He just described Silat as a replica to Koren martial art Hapkido. Hapkido, not to be confused with Aikido, focuses on using your enemies momentum against themselves
i train it in my taekwondo gym
They should do a tournament and invite all these masters so he comes out as the winner
Step in ring with mma fighter
Why no UFC guys use it??? Cuz its Buldhitdo
Unless I see some full speed pressure tests, I'm not really gonna judge this. Has McDojo written all over it though. Kudos to the discipline if Im wrong.
Hard to catch punches like that.
If everything was smooth and slow right? 😂
In what way is this a meeting of minds? If the right guy is a bjj black belt how would it make sense for him to throw a punch
Drawing aggressors in for destruction!!! The beautiful deadly art of silat 🙏
Boom!
It’s incomplete
I like your approach "meeting of minds" as too many people try to do a us vs them style video. good job.
Thank you! I appreciate the solid comment. We should all be learning from each other to be better at our crafts.
Awesome guru definitely powerful

Strong words Nico.
Love it Guru! What you have trained me in the five years is in me for life! I continue to discuss the art form wherever I’m at!
Miss you brother!
This video is loaded with great take down ideas!!!! Awesome!
Thank you brother!
Nice video but at 7:32 i would recommend doing an armbar if someone wants to use the technique in mma
@@faarisamsyar4351 Thank you, for the comment! Yes,that would be an option.
@EdgedTacticalSystems great stuff. i see you post silat is one of the top ten deadliest martial arts a lot. I was wondering what are the top ten deadiest martial arts?
@@allones3078 thank you! If you google top 10 deadliest martial arts or TH-cam it gives you a list of them.
@EdgedTacticalSystems so i just did i did not get a list all i got was "mma or bjj is the deadliest martial art". I would love to see this list and where FMA and silat both stand on it

Good to know , I still remember something of my lessons I took a while back.
@@malcolmglasgow1763 it’s like riding a bike you never forget.
Big fan of that initial open palm strike, immediately taking your opponent off balance!
@@Truthbtold74 thank you.
I looked at a lot of silat videos, I found this to be the most instructional video. Very fluent motions and explanations, thank you.

Devastating elbow smash coupled withn Silat punishment afterwards, which was in a longer tutorial 🔥
Thank you sir!!
The concept of the driving elbow is awesome! Taking advantage of opponent trying to break away by using elbows is a unique idea for training 🙏
Thanks brother ! I appreciate the solid comment and breakdown.
I can't say it's unique.. but I'm also a Silat Practitioner 😅 we train that if the person pulls to resist, use that strength against them with. Not only does your attack have the potential to hit harder, but it's easier to knock them back/down because they are already pulling back.
@ thank you for the comment sir.
Outstanding display of straightforward and efficient use of the elbows 😎🙏🥷🔥
Thanks Guru Muda Nick!
I guess he walks around with a stick in his pocket 🤔🤔🙄🙄
Cause no one walks around with a cain or trains in martial arts systems that train with sticks. Thanks for the comment.
