Indonesian Martial Arts: Pencak Silat Harimau (Tiger)
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we discuss the Indonesian Martial Art known as Pencak Silat. We go in-depth on two types of Pencak Silat from West Sumatra. One is the secret, and deadly Pencak Silat Harimau, or the Tiger Martial Art, where fighters mimic the strategies of the tiger to succeed. The other from Pencak Silat Minang is shown through Randai, the theatrical performance of this respected martial art. T...
Indonesian Plate Dance (Tari Piring)

This is a traditional dance using plates from the Minangkabau people in West Sumatra, Indonesia. While living there I had a few opportunities to watch these performances live and even join in on a training session. Special thanks to Hendri Mamak for inviting me to join his program with some of my students and friends. To all my Indonesian viewers, I hope this accurately portrays the traditional...

Follow my younger brother David Shands founder of Sleep is For Suckers.
My son rated them accordingly. He loved the steam treatment. He's picky. So is his skin !!!!!!!! Good job !
I just started with Pencak Silat (Bongkot-style), I don't know much yet about Pencak Silat or the style I practice. If someone knows good videos from the Bongkot style so I can better learn the techniques, please late me know.
Where can i train in silat tiger
No offense, but once E bikes were mentioned, I lost interest.
Fair enough! We didn’t know how hard or easy it would be, This was our first time doing something like this so went with the e-bikes cause we didn’t want to be too tired not have enough time to relax and enjoy. If I did it again I would definitely take a regular travel bike.
didn't like the footage or the music.
great video . I learned a lot. I always wanted to do this but i was concerned about the traffic on the bridges . Are you from State College? Happy valley Thanks
I personally practice this form of pencak silat
Nice video but the pronounciation is pencak silat
Wow. Super awesome. Great photography, commentary, etc. Planning a trip in Dec 2023. Very helpful
I wouldn't be caught dead crossing the 7 mile bridge, between the distracted drivers and the wide loads that use that bridge, with no room for errors or moving out of the way.
I’m curious if most Gilman alumni go on to fullbright
great video mister gestures a lot.=)
Sad what happened with that place. Check out what it used to look like, you won't believe it.
We live in a destructive era.
Just reached out to a fellow advisor and prepping for the next app date for ETA! I am excited.
What is a good trailhead in Miami to start from that I could safely park my car for multiple days?
Can you safely ride on the 7 miles bridge, and how is the wind?
Electric bikes? Next!
Great itinerary thanks for sharing.
At least there were no dogs. No girls either.
how did you bring the bike back to miami? i'd like to do this trip wiht my own bike..thanks
No it was expensive to ship the bikes down there, so we just rented them from a place in Miami near coral gables called suncycle.
@@mr.knoll-it-all1564 drop off at key west right?thanks again for you replay💪😀
Is there an age restriction, ik 10+ for regular but I want to play and I'm 14 so I don't know if there is one
I think I checked your crew in at sea base
Hi! For the two Community Engagement projects, did you mention this in your short essay on community engagement or in your SGP?
Yes I did mention some of the ideas I had for CEPs in the statement of grant purpose, just a short paragraph, not too many details. Hope this helps! Good luck!
I love this! I did a Critical Language Scholarship in Indonesia. Thank you for this informative video.
Thanks man! That sounds interesting! Where in Indonesia did you stay?
@@mr.knoll-it-all1564 Malang! I hope to apply for a fullbright for next year.
This is cool! :D
OMG litteraly me!
This video was great! I’m currently applying for an ETA position in Argentina! It’s a hard application process, but I think it could be really worth it.
It absolutely is! You can do it! Talk to your fellowship Advisor, I'm sure they would love to help you. Take your time with it. Remember with enough determination, anything is possible! Best of luck
Good times man . Was this ur first event at skirmish
Yes
@@mr.knoll-it-all1564 mine to I actually just recently got in to paint ball after years of watching dudes like you lol . Do you have any advice for finding events / community's I was hoping to try out speed ball eventually
@@mr.knoll-it-all1564 oops additional comment I was in a fire fight with u and ur guys when u were on the front line . Will find time stamp but it was when ur buddy walked off with his hands raised I was on German side yelling at them to let him walk cut they were still lighting him up
@@jacobr3990 that hilarious! You’re a good man! Skirmish has these big events 3 times a year. I think battle of the bulkhead or Stalingrad is coming up in October. But I usually just look up paintball places on google maps and show up as a walk on for the day on Saturday or Sunday. I’ve been going to crusader and ambush a lot
fire jawn
thats crazy fuking insanely intense lol great video man i just subscribed brother, you got some good shit here my bro

Great job on the videos!
Thanks! I appreciate you!
Hello Danny
𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖒𝖔𝖘𝖒 😥
Great job on the videos, I love them
Awesome video dude. I am going to do this with a non-electric bike solo-in one day. Any tips.?
Just plan out your stops for each night, make sure you have a rack on the back of your bike for your bag, and don’t forget to enjoy your downtime while you’re there!
Learned nothing from the video..
Sorry mate, what were you hoping to learn?
@@mr.knoll-it-all1564
I was gonna say, 40 miles a day for 4 days with enough energy left over for a day of fun in the sun at every stop? Makes way more sense with electric assist. A great idea! I'd be wrecked using just my legs on that itinerary.
@@cycologist7069 I mean, I wouldn't have a problem doing 40 miles a day on my road bike. But spending the rest of each day partying on the beach might be a little much for me. Maybe I'd be up for some shenanigans after lunch and a power nap.
Ebikes? I'll be in largo early this afternoon. Left Maine October 7th.. It's been an experience to say the least. Close to 3000 miles when I get to key West.
Hey man, I just randomly stumbled across this video and wanted to ask a few questions. I'm thinking about applying for an ETA through Fulbright, and Indonesia is one of my top countries. Did you enjoy your time as an ETA? And was Indonesia a good country do your ETA in? I'd love to talk more if you're willing to as well. Email me at crs809@msstate.edu
