Muppet Mechanic ! - Changing Gen 2 Levo Frame Bearings
not really a 'how to' and more of a 'should I?'
when it comes to changing your frame bearings its not always possible to get it to the shop and for me I live three hours away from the shop !
so DIY frame bearing changes are essential.
if you think you can DIY your frame bearings after watching then crack on and save yourself some money and get involved in the more complex maintenance on your bike.
tools used:
Blind bearing puller set: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385908992747

First time on this trail and loved it, really short, punchy and sweet trail but unless you are a pro, you'll probably need to recce it first as the drop near the end is pretty intimidating. hope this help you enjoy this great trail. 0:00 Learn It ! 2:36 Ride It !

This will come in useful, suspension is the same as the same era Stumpjumper which I'm going to have to do soon 😢
thanks helpful another old bloke !!
Nice video couple of questions if I may … How did you get dog to sit on bike with you ? And also will be staying near St.Clear and riding recommendations ?
hiya bud, Pepsi the dog loves getting on the bike, just sits on the top tube with paws on the bars.. no idea what training a dog would need for that though. I have no idea on riding near St Clears, its over an hour from the trails here but enjoy your visit !
Iv been over the fence in the past 😂
I’ve probably seen that on TH-cam 😂
Thanks for all the videos! I really like Brechfa, but I am not familiar with this trail - how do you get to it?
sorry for the late reply mate but I have no idea where this is, I was getting a guided tour from the locals!
Nice mate, don't know about you but every time I do something that should be easy that I've done may times before I always forget something...swearing follows😂😂
haha, there is another way ? of course this is how it always goes down ;)
Crikey look at all those chemtrails 😠
the plane trails were totally different before covid.. hardly any since
loving Sam in the pyjamas 😂
style 🤣
funny thing about watching youtube videos and thinking yeah i could do that, the video flattens everything out drops look smaller, ride them in person for the first time and it can be intimidating
definitely! there are a few other trails I've done that with and some features that make you stop dont even appear s features in the video.. we need decent 3d video recording !
i have one. a tank and hard to turn at lower speeds but its a proper beast and i love it.
I believe you, I had a quick go on Mike's one and it was like a tank !
@ Kevin how are you finding it still?
Like your breakedown videos... keep it up!
Thanks Archie, will do !
Good stuff...the background music is a bit distracting though.
Where was this? Our caravan is literally up the road from the pub that I could see you cycle past at the end! We’re up past the Usk reservoir and we love cycle rides like this, my husband and I both have electric bikes like your son!
Hi Sandra, that ride was from Trecastle, you can turn up the road where the antiques centre is from the A40 and up the top on the right is a road that leads to the roman road, that track heads towards Llandovery and just over halfway along there, another track leads off to the left and heads for the Usk reservoir - the track itself is clear and well signposted, its also at a point where there might be large puddles. if you take a look at google earth or an OS map, you can see the roman road and the trail that leads off it pretty clearly. as you follow the trail from the roman road, the res will be on your left until you end up going downhill and following a clear and obvious trail down to the res itself.. it has changed down there a bit because they have felled the trees now but its a lovely ride and I hope you find and enjoy it ! feel free to message me here.
trails look mint fare play 😁😁
running prime right now !
god i wish i can have a bike like you guys to be doing that
I guess thats where being an old git is useful.. you can start to buy stuff but then you dont have enough time to use the stuff you buy... haha ! first world problems I guess ;) I do love getting out on the bike, its my head space relief
Awesome guys, I need to meet you up there. When are you there next?
good plan, ill message you !
My exact experience. The second line needs a lot more speed and commitment, coming into them they do look gappy even if they’re actually not. Next time!
I agree, I came around that left berm too slow and barely cleared that gap, I think after the first set of jumps its time to get on the pedals !
Great job!
thanks man !
Yes guys 🎉 smashed it 👏
cheers mate, have you tried that trail ? its brilliant and if you can do hotstepper, you got it ! (with a recce)
@Old Blokes Who Should Know Better! iv done the top bit down to that off camber slab. I just need to do that drop now 😩
@@AverageDad2022 I reckon you got it mate seeing your vids. The drop looks worse than it is. I reckon with a bit of practise and familiarity, ill start going high over that off camber rock to maintain a bit more speed, trying to thread through the little gap next to the fence isnt easy
This is a fabulous trail & you never have time to relax both physically or mentally… need to concentrate the whole way down.I haven’t done it in ages mainly because I can’t be asked to ride back to the uplift. Thanks for the upload
yes bud its amazing! it really does take it out of me though, once I've ridden this my forearms and thighs a pumped right up, must be a body position or skill issue ;)
One of my favourites is Hot Stepper as I do like drops. I’ve put a video up recently of my recent trip to BPW with Hot Stepper featuring in it.
hey yea James it is a bloody brilliant trail and if you want a similar experience with a little more 'drop', try 'Coal No Dole' - I'll check your video out mate!
@@oldblokeswhoshouldknowbett8108 Thanks, I'll check that out
Yes definitely
Yep… so much fun
Definitely need protection, looks scary!
We wear loads!
Lost my 'V' plates there last year, back again at easter.
is there a better place ? some great riding there dude, for all levels !
best channel name ever btw.
haha.. thanks mate !
Just a suggestion, but could you put Bloke 1 and bloke 2 on each vid feed? Would make the cuts make more watchable... good video though :)
good idea Richie, I had considered it but wasn't sure if it would work.. ill give it a try in a future vid.
I would defo second that. It can be quite jarring having the cuts jumping back and forth. Great run though, I did it for the first time last week, stacked it in the middle section though. Back tomorrow to work on that though. Kudos from another old bloke who probably shouldn’t 😂
Hi mate, where's the best place to park for these trails?
Hi Ceri, I cant say on here where the trails are, please visit here and PM me. Jaden. facebook.com/groups/691153094773210
That drop nearly killed me last year, I was going too slow and ended up in a heap at the bottom, snapped clavicle in 3 places, broke 5 ribs, collapsed lung and ended up with pneumonia in hospital. It was the first day of a weeks holiday 🤣 I should know better as well, 52 and should have taken the chicken line 🤣🤣
Damn dude thats a very heavy price for a failed drop but that is a horrible landing :( I am also 52 mate but all the best lines are the most dangerous... I did bottle out of the big 'Dave Jenvey' drop though, im self employed and cant take the injury time off.. are you planning on going back to do it again ?
@@oldblokeswhoshouldknowbett8108 I've done bigger drops it was just one of those days. I don't have a fear I need to crush so probably not.
Nice video guys 🤟 I think they are using Hotstepper in the upcoming mini enduro next Wednesday 😊 are you signed up for it ?
No mate, must admit we were tempted but I don't really see a point in doing enduros held at bikeparks and trails centres, I can go anytime for far less money.. Im there Saturday in any case, me and Sam up there with a guy that hasn't been before so should be chilled and fun
The more I see of BPW, the more I realise that I need to visit. Thanks for posting!
Go for it, amazing place for any level 👌
me and some friends went there about 3 years back (inbetween lockdowns) for a weekend and we spend pritty much all day saturday on that its epic :D
don't blame you , it's bloody awesome !
Smooth as butter - awesome!
thanks man, we are back there in 2 weeks to try and get the rest of the line sorted, really looking forward to it ! to be honest, the jumps are so good, they do all the work for you, just point and shoot !
Fair play 🤟🤟🤟
take a look next time you're there, if you can do the tables on A470, you can do this easy
Better watching this a second time, realise how gnarly some of them jumps and turns are!! how was today's BPW trip??
it was amazing mate, best day I've ever had on a bike.. you need to join us sometime
Cool runs.must visit soonest .deff looks fun...
so good and SO FAST !!! scary fast but unique place!
Sam's riding is getting slicker and more confident every time!
yep, leaving me behind now !
Brilliant. 😂
thanks mate! lucky to get away with some of that ;)
Fastest heating engineers in the business!
haha, you never know I might actually be :D
Sam nailed that drop 👊
yes he did!!! I wasn't happy when he told me he had done it but that's just because I didn't want to go to A&E ;)
Holly shit that tree at the beginning 😳
can't believe he got away with it mate.. pleased that he did though
Bleedin Excellent !
😍 thanks my man !
Kracky thats moving does anything slow you down?💯BC Cycling Association.
Helen, cycling can keep us from slowing down, it's a blessing that I can still ride and I don't take it for granted. slowing down is definitely bad for you 😉
Looks like you went over Cribyn at junction for the Gap descent? Is that a legal path as OS indicates footpath with recreational route?
not sure if path is legal etc, just following along bud but I have added the strava link in the description!
@@oldblokeswhoshouldknowbett8108 many thanks!!
nice vid, do you have the route available? Strava? thanks
it's in the description bud
sick!! what gopro are you using and what mount? im local to fod and im looking into gopros for full speed runs
We both use GoPro 7 black on a chest mount, recording in 1080 usually because my old Mac can't process 2.7 or 4k but the camera does all that really well.
Great vid, only ridden it as a night ride, now I know what it looks like 👍🏼 cheers 😂
crikey, I bet thats sketchy as a night ride.. I've had some whopping great crashes night riding, even with decent lights so I try not to do it anymore
🤣🤣🤣 proper slop fest
horrendous, lot of clay mixed with aggregate around those trails, horrible for the brakes and drivetrain !
Great work 👏👏👏
I did it for the first time in September, they have re worked it since you last did it. I over jumped the second table into the berm and ended in the 🌲🌲🌲 Then I over jumped the last table and almost landed flat so don't feel too bad. Went on to make a huge mess of Blackadder. Check them out BPW PT 2&3 th-cam.com/channels/HZx88AeClFEeb7euCQKWxw.html
nice vid but confused as to where the climb is that was next to the fence in the first part of the vid? I have looked at the strava link and the only part i can think of is prior to Talybont on Usk? can you clarify please? The OS map doesn't look like its at that point? thanks
I think I know the bit you mean, the narrow part that winds around the hills on the right with a drop on the left. thats after Talybont and on the way up to Trefil quarry.
@@oldblokeswhoshouldknowbett8108 ah ok will check it out
