#short #sarasate He paid attention to detail this time, i.e. fermatas....He has a HUGE workload between now and December 15(about 25 pieces for a gala on Nov. 30 and a Christmas party on Dec. 15) so he has been unable to give this piece as much time as he would like but he is still doing so well on it.

#violinist He has made sooo much ground in this super hard piece. We worry about phrasing, dynamics and everything in between AFTER we learn the notes. It has worked in the past 4 years so why change? Notice since part 2, not only has he added more but went up into the 7th position on the G at a certain part.

Thomas is constantly watching Itzhak play whatever he is practicing at the time and he came upon a #video where the great one revved it up a bit in one section...so of course......he wanted to. His dexterity is #crazy

This is just an update on his progress on this very tough tune by Rubinoff. He hasnt worked on it much because of the other pieces for the orchestra, trio in Camden, 2 competitions and chamber program, but he is making progess.

He was sooo nervous but as soon as he started playing. The announcer got the name of his orchestra wrong and called him first chair rather than first violin as well but other than that, everything went so well he wants to do it over and over again. #hockey #maine

Thomas has been diligently working on his expressiveness and this is a great start. He gets embarrassed because he thinks it is "showing off" but he is slowly learning the difference on how being animated while playing attracts attention and makes the piece sound good. #violinist #learning

This may not seem like a big deal but it was the most difficult piece Thomas has ever done. No, the playing was easy. He wanted a song, a "regular" song where he could write down what he hears, arrange it so that is sounds just like the original singer and find an accompaniment for it, altering and arranging it to fit the accompaniment.
