yes I know you can't hear my voice over the wind noise
Smart ! I've fixed mine in different ways, and I really like your method. Gonna try it. ( I'll use gloves when I do the welding part though 😂)
👍👍👍. Thanks
The more expensive the bike the more expensive the parts
The main reason these break off is someone trying to open up the clamp wider than it was designed for and the action of the screw thread easily pops it off. To prevent this happening, simply put a small weld blob on the screw, one or two threads up from the end. On a lot of makes, there is no ring clip, the rim of the hole simply being burred over to stop it falling off. If this is the case, tighten up the clamp with the shoe, on a good solid lump of steel and simply go round the rim with a punch ... no need to smack it too hard, it does not take much of a turn over to retain it., While the shoe is off, take the opportunity to tidy up the face with a file and paper and chamfer the corners - much easier to do with it off.
I would like to see a fix that doesn't look like it was fixed....
The rectifier and stator system on bikes are like the alternator on cars and trucks. I had a bad rectifier problem with one of my bikes last year, left me on the side of the road twice😅 glad you got it sorted dood! Hopefully you get the blinker issue sorted too, just older bikes doing older bike things! Ride safe dood🫡
I'm glad you finally got some real gear, you can never be too safe. Modular helmets are convenient, especially when you have to sneeze, but they are heavier, and could have more wind noise. I had one for several years but switched to a non-modular version don't really miss it. You should get you headlight fixed asap, motorcycles are required by law to always have their headlight on so you can be pulled over during the day for it.
Thanks friend
Nice, next time instead of putting the spring-washer in the vice, etc, just put it on the “ball”, place the “foot against and close the clamp. The neck of the foot will push the washer over the ball. You may just have to close it a bit before welding. Cheers
Good idea
Fun ride. Glad you fixed it
When I feel the need to scribble, I use a scratch pad not my skin.
But a scratch pad isn’t permanent!
nice work
Good fix! Now get back to work! 😉
I like it, good job.
Smart, I'll give you that. Preferably, I would TIG weld it but you may not of had that available. Solid fix though.
Yeah tig would have looked nicer. I don’t own one though
Staking is our friend
Great Tip, Thanks
Good Idea! I have a couple of C-clamps that need that fix and will give it a try today.
You can buy replacement feet from MSC for a very reasonable price
Pretty clever! However, the dog didn't look too impressed.
no he wasn't haha
Good fix. Some words of wisdom.... Vise grips are your friend. Great video thumbs up.
Great video, thanks for that. What make and model is your red handle long nose pliers ? They look adjustable and tough. Thanks
they are snap on. expensive but they are great
I like the little lookbacks at the camera like "Hey are you filming this?"
haha yeah
Freakin’ gorgeous Dood!! Thanks for sharing it.
I was up there 2 weeks ago and it was almost 70 with no snow😂Winter’s coming!
Damn it got cold fast!!
awesome-
Thats pretty rad, would love to take my kids there someday.
That was one of my favorite places as a kid. I moved away like 35 years ago and it is on my bucket list
Yeah dood as a kid it’s insane, as an adult it’s still pretty damn cool
Rock lobster 🦞 at the end🤘🤘🤘
I had no idea Dood! As someone who kind of kept up with the Duggar family, this was fascinating to me. Thank god you made it out
Mercury or Venus?
Mercury
Aaaww yeah!
Idk how I ended up here but if you are looking for a more secure mount try a quad lock with the vibration dampener. It’s a little pricy but I used it when I did a trip to Colorado from Texas with friends and it did great at keeping my phone on the bike. Also a cardo or senna for your helmet goes a long way with their hands free capability.
I feel like I might do that... I've heard people talk about breaking their phones with the vibrations from the bike using Ram mounts
Love watching your videos dood!!
✌
I ran into similar groups later in life while trying to stay clean. Teen Challenge, in particular, had similar teachings and hierarchy. I'm glad to see you got out, I was lucky enough to understand what was going on around me and kept my head down, but many people fell prey to their insane dogma. Best of luck man, and thanks for sharing your story.
oh damn! yeah I've heard of Teen Challenge. Glad you were smart enough to not fall for it
Sounds very American. Washing up liquid does a good job of anti mist. Smear it on, polish it off.
Hello there... fellow iblp/life institute kid here. So glad to see you on the other side friend.
right on man, glad you did too!
i was raised in a community that followed the same teachings, had friends sent off to alert academy and I actually met some of the duggars at a conference. it's nice to see some of us made it out. not everyone did. ride safe
oh wow crazy! yea dude glad you made it out too!
super interesting we apreciate you oopening up about something like this, i like storytime with Doody! keep it up!
I was raised in the Mormon cult. It's nice to be free of it.
oh wow yeah I'm glad you're out!
I guess I drifted from Bike TH-cam to Life story TH-cam. Thanks for sharing your experience. To TH-cam: well played
Dood
Interesting stuff
Damn man I’m sorry you had to go through that. it’s insane!
Grew up in a homeschooled evangelical Christian fundamentalist household myself. Definitely had to grow up late and fast after I finally left the bubble myself, totally feel you there. Getting out and learning to integrate with regular people takes a lot of work so props my guy. Hope due to internet access kids wont have to go through what we did, least not to the same degree 🤞
@@Sean-rl5rg right on man I’m glad you made it out!!
Damn yo. Pretty F’d up. Cool that you shared this.
Good stuff.
Clean sound for sure. Cheers!
Don't get me started with those damn blinkers.
@@oliverwoehrmann5992 yours don’t cancel automatically either?
@@doodcoleather They are suppose to, but half the time they don't and the other half they turn off too soon.
