Both of these renders look rookie and not touched at all. No post process and no nothing. Just added some models and rendered them without baking post-process or light adjustments. Even a 3 renders look far superior than this with just 5 mins of tweaking.
This test is biased asf for starters the scene is ugly and not representative of the abilities of both render engines and the skybox doesn't look remotely similar between the two scenes also the window material on ue5 seems to be properly transparent while on unity it's litterally a mirror
Sky box: I couldn't find color settings for sky box in HDRP so the color is different between unity and unreal (unreal is yellow) Mirror: Both has same settings... But the realtime reflection is always better inside unreal engine and lumen reflection

Umm, something wrong with HDRP. Are you sure you used all post processing? Cuz i see a lot of room for improvements and I even not a professional in HDRP but I know how its look
Foliage rendering needs realtime GI to be realistic (indirect shadows)... So from foliage rendering unreal engine and lumen is always better I have tried to simulate indirect shadows using AO post effect inside unity
You could create better shadows on trees, do some color correction, use volumetric clouds (like you used in Unreal) and reflections on Unity HDRP even without ray tracing. This is not engines comparison, it's your knowledge comparison. But yeah, i agree that Unreal is better out of the box, and can provide better graphics instantly without extra configuration
YEAAAH! The unity part looks like it doesn't have post processing!
The problem is the HDRP lighting workflow... Find a proper balance settings between sun, post processing and sky light is a very hard task in HDRP... I will make another comparison later Also foliage rendering needs realtime GI to be realistic... So from foliage rendering unreal engine and lumen is always better

prefect only unreal
In both examples there are things that need improvement, HDRP does a very good job given the very old lighting system it uses. Unity is preparing a new GI lighting system for Unity 6, so we'll see.

This seems like an unfair comparison. The landscape of CryEngine was more beautiful and the one for Unity didn't do its lighting system much justice. Unity HDRP looks fantastic! Especially with raytracing (technically all games look the same-ish with raytracing)

Why didn't he add glass reflective specular in Unity 6? Why didn't you use HDRP and the new shader system? Because you don't know how to do it? Comparison of mom's developer who did not understand any engine and their technologies.

Both are the same... I just forgot to give an AO effect in Unity to make the leaves shaded and volumetric

this comparison seem unfair beacuse doesn't seem like your using the right codec and that UE output seems to be at the highest possible output in mobile mode where unity is in mobile mode but a lower output

If you use a different compression codec, assuming you used the Unity "Recorder" package, you'd get a better output :D

@@MEGA_TREE On my mac I use the apple pro res. If you're on a PC, not sure what the other options are.

unreal engine requires beefy computer, unity doesnt require beefy computer even without optimizations. in my opinion if i want realistic i go for Unity, but if i want a cartoony/realistic i go for Unreal, thats just what i go for. Oh also unreal assets are OVER PRICED AS HELL !

unity without AA vs unreal with AA?
Both has TAA. But inside Unreal you have DOF effect by default. the DOF effect hides aliasing completely but make your render blurry I forgot to enable DOF for unity in this video
What does the performance comparison help here if the Unity part looks like from 10 years ago regarding the post processing? There is aliasing flickering everything in the scene like the bike's spokes or the chairs legs of doom.... I just started with Unity because of its intuitive way but seeing how terrible the same scene looks in Unity in comparison to Unreal is here once again one of the main reasons why I am still seriously reconsidering this, they just seem to have the better shaders in the end.
Flickering will be solved by adding depth of filed effect completely. This is the reason why Unreal Engine rendering is blurry Also currently, post-effects are no different from ten years ago. The only progress in these ten years is the advent of linear color space and DX11-12
Why don't I have sun lighting?
Buy urp lighting box tool and watch its videos (you need to drag sun prefab into your scene from lighting box prefab folder)
If you know what you are doing, you can generate great work with both engines. It's great to have them competing, because that spurs development. All in all, one sees more amazing demos created with UE5 than with Unity. They have those too, but by and large created by the makers of Unity. Wish more Unity devs would demo what's possible in e.g. HDRP, to have a more extensive comparison.
Question might be stupid but how the ground texture was made? this is definitly not a depthmap but real 3d geometry how is it called?
The baked one looks a lot better and seems to perform better as well!
