When you open the silhouette program, at the top there are 3 options for design. The last one on the right, select that option the design area will change. I’ll do a video and post the link here.

Something similar happened to me when I got my desktop. It was a software download issue. Make sure to keep the software up to date. I notice that it doesn’t automatically update like it’s supposed to so a manual check is definitely a must. As long as there is no damage to the laser, you should be good after the update.

@@MinnieBrown testet earlier version of Silhouette studio. Now everything works. :)

I know this may sound silly but when you are in your SEND section, did you change it to pen? I always forget to do that! Mine glitches sometimes so I have to close out silhouette and reopen it. Also update your firmware. Hope that helps.

Check to make sure the registration boxes are not dull in color. If they are, use a Sharpie or alcohol based marker and slowly fill it in. That also helps when there is a registration error.

@@MinnieBrown I got it to finally read it but now instead of cutting around the image, it’s cutting out every single detail.

Ahh I understand. So when you go to your cut window to send, you have to select all the lines you don’t want cut and click no cut. I found this to be annoying and tedious with the silhouette. I will do a video to show you and others since it’s such a small detailed and commonly overlooked.

Yes they are 😂 I have cricut joy and that’s more sensitive than my silhouette.

@@MinnieBrown really I have the joy too 😆 but I haven’t used it in awhile. Once I got my explore air and cameo the joy just fail by the wayside 😆

Funny you mentioned that it got sidelined. 😂 I just started using it again specifically for any project that’s easy 😂

So i typically use a light colored pencil as the underlaying of the drawing, the sketch. Then I would draw with the graphite / charcoal pencil over that to create the defined lines. Most of the time a light blue would be used but this set comes with an orange one instead. 👍🏼

Idk I just really wanna get good at drawing, but when I try it comes out not as really of what I want it to look like.

@@kelligabel5432 so I would start with basic shapes and shading. Everything you will want to draw has a basic shape. Just look for a familiar shape in what you want to draw. Everything else with fall into place with lots of practice. 😊

Sure. I can do a tutorial for print and cut. I would run a clean print head. That issue typically is when the ink is almost out or the head cleaning is dirty. If you do that and it doesn’t work, take a fine line sharpie and carefully fill in the square. I’ll post the link here once the video is uploaded.

Totally agree the Marie’s stuff is total garbage. The kneaded eraser was horrible sticky and such. To be honest I forgot what this came with. I know there was something on the wrapper but I can’t remember. Lol

This is the sticker paper I used amzn.to/2QL5rqV from Amazon. After you open the Silhouette Program, on the right hand side at the top there is an icon that looks like a piece of paper, select that, then a page setup window pops up, right below where it says Page Setup there are 3 icons, select the one with 3 marks. Hope this helps. :)

You can use any paper but you have to adjust the settings in the Send Section when you are ready to cut.

A lot of variables are involved, like if youre using Silhouette Cutting Mat or a Generic Cutting Mat. This may be an issue since generic mats tend to be thicker which throws off the depth of cut since its defaulted to Silhouettes Cutting Mat thickness.
