The Louisiana Lao New Year festival celebrates Lao culture in Louisiana every year during the Easter Holiday weekend. This video shows the Friday alms gathering (Tahk Baht) ceremony where monks gather alms along the streets. This tradition occurs regularly in Lao cities and villages.

Our family visit to Sissinghurst Garden in Kent, England. My mother and I are garden enthusiasts and this garden has been on my list of places to visit for 8 years.

Boon Katin Festival 2021 is a celebration which can take part anywhere between the middle of October and the middle to end of November, at the local temples discretion. The main feature, as far as the majority of local, is the opportunity to make merit with Buddha, so a reasonably elaborate ceremony of sorts takes place.

An update and your in the new garden beds and ongoing repairs at my mom’s traditional southern country house in Central Louisiana. We still have lots of work to do but it’s nice to document the process.
