    Hey old rags, Have you had any problems with defective adapters (the ones where you put the batteries in)? I have build it like this: I mounted an extra jack into the cube whose wiring goes to exactly those pins where the wires from the original batteries go (all inside on the pcb). Then I soldered an extra connection cable from that jack to the bosch battery adapter. So they are very easy to unplug, good for carrying. Problem: I have destroyed 3(!!!) of these adapters already. They seem to be very sensitive when switching the amp on or off. Probably a voltage surge. Have you encountered this problem as well? Thanks.

    • @christophwalker1219
      @christophwalker1219 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point ! No, the batteries have no over-discharge protection. I have already destroyed some. Luckily, they are cheap, especially the generic ones. The roland has a battery indicator, when there is only one light left, the battery should be recharged. I suppose it shouldn't be too complicated to add an electronic module to the adapter to protect against over-discharge.

      Hmm.. do normal rechargeable AA batteries that fit into the Roland cube battery pack shut off at low voltage? I don't think so.. I use Energizer AA batteries for all sorts of things and eventually they go flat, but then ya charge them up again. That's always been normal to do with AA li-ion batteries. There's never been any warning regarding over discharge of these AA batteries? 🤷 I've used these Energizer rechargeable AA batteries in my cube ex, and Bluetooth for my electric guitar for years

    On another video somebody's taking off the CUBE logo that they stupidly put right over a sound hole that seriously impairs the sound quality and function of said hole. IT'S at the top end price wise for a busking amp but it's really got too many glitches that ougbt to have been ironed out at the testing stage...it kinda sucks that Roland haven't been bothered to go the extra mile...at £500 and rising Roland need.to respect and honour their customers and not expect customers to undertake alterations concerning flaws regarding basic functions... This isn't people swapping out a new guitars pick ups for a favourite brand or type.. This is errors of design choices that caused poor quality, and a poorly functioning. product.. Wise up Roland you need to fix these basic errors before You launched this or any Roland product...THEY'VE GOT TO WORK WELL FOR THIS MONEY!!!

      Thanks ! Yes that is correct, I only replaced the plastic frames for the looks, the electronics are original. If you are interested in a good swampy tone, take a look at the AF-55. I love that one and it's full hollow, which gives it more bass which is great for picking. However, the neck is shorter which makes the high notes less accessible.

      1) They are expensive (the empty plastic will set you back about 25 bucks, and you have to buy NIMH batteries on top). 2) That pack will last up to 2 hours tops. 3) When you want to charge that pack, you have to unscrew 4 screws, open the pack, charge the 8 (!) batteries, and then do the same in reverse. Charging the drill's battery pack is a much faster and easier move.

      Hi ! The metal-clip holding the battery-holder is quite sturdy, I wouldn't be afraid to take it to the street. The entire Street Cube EX with the mounted adapter still fits into the official Roland carrying bag, that would protect it for travel, or simply taking it out for travel would work too.
