In WA state they use the TU250 in the basic riding course classes. I learned how to ride on one. Such a fun bike to ride.
@@MrEcliptor yes you’re 100% correct. That’s actually the first time I laid eyes on one. I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was a wee one, but I live in Washington and needed to get my endorsement. So I went to the local place and saw the most beautiful motorcycle I’ve ever seen, I noticed on the side it said TU250, I passed my test that day on my 125cc scooter, set on a Suzuki. I went home, searched Craigslist, after about a month I found a tu with 900 miles on it at my local dealership for 2800$. I bought it and the rest is history! This was in 2016.
that is so CUTE omg

Hey,thank for thir comparison,im thinking to get mic mini paired with my 360x3.im a newb hope you can help me=) 1.do u use noise cancellation 2.what is you're audio software setting 🙏🏽
@@murtadhasaifulbahrein4208 hello friend! Thanks for watching and following along. I do like the mic mini, at 59$ usd it’s hard to beat. My settings for this video is and I’d be happy to share them, Noise cancelation OFF, DB gain -6. For software I’m using davinci resolve 19 which is a video and audio editor. The audio is untouched. Just straight from microphone no edits. Thanks for watching and following along! I’d happily help get your mic mini setup once you receive it! Have a great new year friend. Btw where are you commenting from , I’ve had folks from all over the world watch it’s just so cool to see! 🌍 Have a great day.
I’ve got a Buddy 50 and I’ve got 50,000 on my TUx. Both great bikes! The Buddy’s 10 inch wheels aren’t ideal off road, are they? Did the tires make much of an improvement?
@@clydeosterhout1221 oh that’s awesome we’re like biking buddies already! Yes the tires actually made a huge improvement off road and even just around the neighborhood. I haven’t noticed any downsides at all! Thanks for watching and following along. 22k miles on my tu and about 13k miles on my buddy. Great bikes, what color is your TU & buddy?
@ the TUx is the brownish-grey sort of color all 2011 bikes were. My scoot is the “Brit” blue model from 2013. It was originally my daughter’s bike, but after a few painful mishaps she decided that she wasn’t interested in riding after all. I bought the bike off of her and have been enjoy it ever since.
@ same story with my buddy. Neighbor had it, wrecked, I bought it for 800$ of her after she said no more and I repaired it, new tires, new starter , (was kick only after the crash) , and headlight! That was in 2017, no issues since. My uncle has the orange tu, the ‘17 I believe? Yes mines a ‘11/‘12 I call it champagne, a friend has dubbed it Tiny Bubbles. (Champagne color and small displacement)
Amazing video, Matthew! My driving instructor says that you should mostly use front brake 70% and rear brake 30% Also very cool trick with going uphill. Will definitely train it. Thank you so much for the video, will be waiting for next episodes
But if you release your clutch without rolling your throttle, won't you stall out? Starting from a stop, while angled uphill, has been a challenge for me, too.
@@CubertEtc I guess it depends on the bike. I know that some bikes can start moving easily without any throttle and some can't
it depends on the bike for sure - the suzuki tu250x no problem at all!

Whats your gain set to? Noise cancellation?
@@zekd hello, low cut on, noise cancellation OFF, gain -4. Thanks for watching and following along more rides & tests coming today!
what mic do you use?
@@iMBlessedYT hi in this video it’s the dji mic2 Bluetooth to camera. In some other videos it’s wired to a rode mic. Thanks for watching !
@MatthewsMotorcycles awesome video man, I'm considering this camera, just doing research vs the GP13, did you tape the mic 2 inside the helmet? It sounds amazing
@ thank you! I own this and the GoPro 13 so I can help with that, here’s the mic 2 with he GoPro 13 Bluetooth th-cam.com/video/QY3HmvyuPQ8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared , in terms of audio quality the dji camera paired with the Dji mic is unbeatable. To obtain similar audio with the GoPro 13 you’ll need the media mod (80$). Tje reason for this is any GoPro none of them support gain control for microphones without the media mod. The mic 2 I can place in two areas, first is clipped to my helmet camera chin strap, and the second is actually the headset “ pockets “in my helmet if I don’t use my cardo setup. But in these videos the mic 2 is clipped to my helmet strap using its included clip. You raised some good questions so I think I’m going to make a video tomorrow on this question essentially, how my microphone is setup in my helmet and the like. Thanks for watching and following along !
@@MatthewsMotorcycles thank you so much brother, I have the gp11 and the dji pocket 3 that came with one mic2, I mounted both on my motorcycle today and the pocket 3 looks super clean, but any bump shakes and distorts the video, that's why I was considering the action 5. I'm checking out your other videos, a mic setup video would be great, I already subscribed too 👍
@ heck ya let me know if I can film any combination of video for ya but lately my sweet spot has been the dji action 4 with the mic2, great all around setup and value. I got the action 4 bundle from Costco at 199$ usd. Thanks for subscribing! On Monday I’ll be doing a wired mic versus mic2 comparison just for fun. And a Vespa ride today !(1/5/24)

Is this your most favorite motor bike because it is the most comfortable ???
@@UMWCircle1 that’s a good question. Would make a good video I think you gave me an idea! No honestly I’m comfortable even on my yellow sportbike, I think why I like the tu250 the most is because of how quiet it is yet still great exhaust note, it’s super light and nimble, it gets incredible gas mileage (I can put one gallon in [usa] and ride for a week to work) , it’s quite comfortable yes on and off road because of the weight, I really like the looks and the simplicity of it most. It’s the most basic a motorcycle can be. Thanks for asking!

Hi Matthew, Thanks so much for performing these tests. I find them very helpful. Can you clarify something for me? At the beginning of this video, is this the set-up with the 360 x4 using the mic mini? I'll be using the 360 camera and want to make a good mic choice. I was a little confused as you used two different camera set-ups. I see that you've posted another 5 min video. Is that the mic mini? Also noticed that you are into still photography. @@detour4vintage hello & yes! The helmet clip at the beginning shows the mic placement just clipped inside my helmet. @@Ankitvkc oh crap I just realized what happened. I had my mic connected to my GoPro with raw audio on, so it’s playing back the onboard mic AND the external, sorry , I’ll have this corrected after 12/23.
Out of the box, GoPro Hero 13 looks better to me in mixed situations of day and night usage. Of course, there will be sacrifices with GoPro Hero 13 in low light, but the footage is still acceptable! I think texture and NR settings need to be tweaked for Osmo Action 5 to work better during the day. Tried Action 5 pro, for the first time yesterday in Philly's Christmas market, but I'm not happy with the stabilisation. I am coming back to action cameras after 2016 (GoPro Hero 4). Expected Action 5 pro to produce great results out of the box in Auto Exposure (Wide, D Log 10 bit; texture -2, NR:0,) but most of the videos I shot last evening are unusable because of the weird shakes. I wore a cheap Chest mount from Amazon and was recording the BTS of my street photography session.
@@Ankitvkc I agree; here’s a good example of the GoPro 13 looking good during the day and afternoon. The shutter speed etc. th-cam.com/video/Z8dPiJi5iPw/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared hey thanks for watching and following along! More videos coming today, any requests? I can film whatever ! Yes for the stabilization shakes I had the same issue where objects seems to “vibrate” , I wasn’t able to fix this and when the usb port on the action 5 stopped working I returned it entirely. I now have the action 4 bundle from Costco at 199$ usd.
Although everyone on TH-cam rants about DJI Osmo Action 5 pro low light performance, I think the GoPro Hero 13 output is overall better in quality. balanced. I picked the Osmo Action 5 Pro after watching reviews on TH-cam but I think I am going to return it and get the Hero 13 as low-light video stabilization is very poor on the Dji Action 5 Pro. What is your opinion on this?
@@Ankitvkc I agree with you. If you go back about a month or two I have a bunch of videos on the action 5, I had to return Mine and now use the action 4 and GoPro 13 black. During the day nothing can touch the GoPro 13 and I’ve tweaked night settings to. Here’s a video of the 13 at night I can help anytime with your settings ! 👍 today I’ll be testing the gopro 13 with my dji mic 2. On the action 5 one thing that helped me was removing the lens cover at night, it reduces the flares and light trumpets.
@@MatthewsMotorcycles Yeah, dji mic2 integration and TH-cam reviews on Action 5 pro got me sold, and DJI was giving 2 extra batteries for $349 with Action 5 pro. I wish I had more time to test DJI Osmo action 5 pro but I am heading to NY on Monday evening and need something for BTS/ Street Photography PoV videos. Do you think dji mic will pair with Gopro 13?
@ hello friend, yes I tested yesterday the mic2 and mic mini both pair and record fine with the GoPro 13 black. I just need to test if it sounds good on a motorcycle which I’ll do today. Lastly since you’re in US like me check out Costcos bundle on the GoPro , it’s 299$ usd with 2 batteries, a memeory card. And a case. www.costco.com/gopro-hero13-black-action-camera-bundle-with-additional-endura-battery%2C-128gb-microsd-card-and-carrying-case.product.4000303268.html , I’ll tell you the secret, you THEN buy the Costco Allstate warranty for 29$ , covers two years drops cracks spills anything, with no deductible replacements. www.costco.com/allstate-2-years-for-tablets-and-cameras-under-%24300.product.100086705.html Also I learned you don’t have to be a Costco memeber to order off there website, which I did, they just charge you a 5% fee which came out to like 13$. Check back today for a GoPro mic2 video!
For now I'm choosing DJI Action 4 here. But gotta invest time in audio editing. Noise cancellation is good but it filters the engine as well. And without noise cancellation is too much friction from winds etc, but good to hear engine better. Thanks for showing how it works from the get go each settings as they are.
@@qazzranalamry1772 yes! Audio for sure is the trickiest part on a motorcycle. I’m getting closer I feel like. Noise reduction I’ll leave off for sure!
@MotorcycleWithMatt Yeah! And then color grading when you want certain colors or vibe. But if sticking to authentic, then it's easier.
Both have their own merits. Helmet view is more immersive and feels interactive. Feels the ride more as rider. Moreover it's FOV. Handle bar view is for dreamy view enjoyment focused, calmer, kinda feels like passenger. So different type of creative purpose. The darker tone of GoPro supports the dreamy feeling. The color is also good if mounted on helmet tho. While DJI one feels more direct immersion. Idk which captures accurately to reality, I'd choose that. But certain color target can be done with color grading. FOV is great for action. But Idk if the camera has options to turn it on or off for creative purpose. Sometimes kinda dizzy to see the sharp curvy feeling in FOV. But as investment if it were me, I'd choose DJI action though. I need to learn to tweak the features and all just that. Thanks for the informative video! Kudos!
I think you're right, today i used the gopro and it does have a bit of that warp look. Tomorrow (monday) i'm going to use the Action with the new mic and see how that goes! thanks buddy!
@MotorcycleWithMatt Ahhah! Yeah. Here I saw the warp on DJI FOV boost. But when watching it fullscreen one camera only in other videos, they're fine. But the GoPro one does when watching it separately in other video. It's just the nature, nothing wrong with the device. But our own experience. Good luck
Very cool. Now I see how your channel is not just motorcycle but creative intuitive and innovative. Man of ideas.
@@qazzranalamry1772 hey thank you so much that made my day. Yes I’m getting all set for 2025, I figure I get all dialed in then really up it for you guys in 2025!!!! 👍 hey thanks again I appreciate your kind words.
@@qazzranalamry1772 hey I just saw this comment again and it’s the best comment I’ve ever read. Thanks again. 👍
@@MatthewsMotorcycles Heheheheh my pleasure buddy! It's refreshing to see the VR. Playful. Can even see your setup on helmet or when you scratch or hold stomach. Heheh. Also your helmet, outfit, and adoring more details of the bike itself! I like the keychain spring cable for the key. Feels immersive and kinda like riding or simulator game in a way. Nice feeling.
@ this is an awesome perspective I didn’t even think about! Ya it’s basically what my body is doing while riding in a way I couldn’t film otherwise! Thanks again!
@@MatthewsMotorcycles Heheheh that adds personality touch right there!
Heheheh cool Matt! Feels like video game hearing your voice clearly. Engine, yes noise cancellation did the noise gate unfortunately. But it's good you test things out till reaching the best setup. It's a journey.
@@qazzranalamry1772 it really is! I’m a one person show over here so I test everything thoroughly haha! I’m getting all my settings dialed in for 2025 so expect big things coming ! 👍
@@qazzranalamry1772 yes getting the voice all dialed in, as far as talking while I ride do you prefer a quieter ride of just the bike or do you like me talking a bit while riding too? Getting a feel for what everyone likes haha.
@@MatthewsMotorcycles I see! For one person show, post production is crazy task yo! So it's great to find the right setting for us that is efficient. Simple but works. I personally like calm ride. With just view and engine sound. But sometimes when the rider talks lightly at certain interesting point. Like discovering something on the way, or such is nice as well. Or sometimes, but I don't want it to happen, when they crash a little or something they react naturally. Sometimes anything happens on the road which we react naturally. Phenomenon. If you want chatty, it's best at informational vlogs or sharing tips and journey talks. There can also be just natural ride where you just be yourself. When you think of something on the road might speak about it. When not, just ride. For the no commentary video, just add the title so. I think your channel is already mix of something, since there are informative videos mostly I see at first. Which means you will always carry topics. For enjoyment I like silent ride, sometimes natural ride/vlog. But can't lie, sometimes I need informative videos when needing info about gears, experience, comparison, etc. Which was how I found you. And I'm thankful of that.
@@MatthewsMotorcycles Anyway, in all your experiments, just find what you enjoy and/or what challenge you to grow. Don't want things make the ride not enjoyable. As I see some vloggers quitting due to that.
@@qazzranalamry1772 this is a great idea I can title my rides as just a raw ride or a chat ride, I’m uploading todays I just tested my GoPro 13 with my mic2 and tweaked some settings I think it sounds pretty good but it will be a bit this afternoon till it uploads. Thanks again for the awesome feedback I really do appreciate it and read every comment 👍
Man I have the same bike and I LOVE it but I gotta replace my sprockets and chain 😭 any tips or experience on this job? Audio sounds great btw
@@Vapegodjr thanks so much! My newest tu250 video just went live a second ago, more of a scenic route. Also I’m at 20k Miles and I’ve changed my chain once and still on original sprocket. Yes give me an hour or so and I’ll find my receipts for my chain and such I’ll edit my post! Thanks for following along and watching , the TU is an AWESOME bike.
@ I watch most of your videos since I’m still starting out and I love your commutes for technique. At 10k miles and the chain is just about slapping bike with how loose it is even at max tightness. Thanks so much for the fast reply! Will be watching the next video :)
@ yes after the latest one did you see this one last week where my chain came OFF the tu while riding! Lol it was hectic! I got it back on and tightened it up when I got home all good now. Yes I’ll find my receipts I think I remember the chain being very inexpensive and I’ll give you All the model numbers. th-cam.com/video/mXH5ETvzlZo/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared chain video falling off ha
@ and thank you so much for the compliments and for watching since the start! This year I’ve really just been dialing in my video and audio. Except much more/better production in 2025!
@@MatthewsMotorcycles funny enough, I did see that video and my first thought was “damn that would scare me so bad- I need to make sure my chain is good”. So in a way your video instilled the importance of chain maintenance for me!
