DoorDash needs improvements on their map search when delivering to apartments. It would also help if the customers listed the building numbers and security codes to get in ahead of time.

If they are huge apts ask them to meet you at leasing office. You lose your delivery time and money. the rule of thumb is the leasing office. Now some apts you cant help but deliver. Look at the order before you get there and ask question if you need to nobody have the time to be waiting for them to respond. I learned from being a carrier that these things are unacceptable. People love to waste your time you can leave food at leasing office if you need to. Most customers meet you anyway. Always ask 1ST cut down on running around save your energy too,you wont be tired when you get home and youll have more money. ❤

The excessive security measures in some of these apartment buildings drive me nuts. They show a whole bunch of people who are complete cowards. People who think that codes for elevators are going to keep them secure when they actually keep them isolated and alone

One time I had to deliver to a Hospital and I’ve never felt so stressed out in my life… I had no idea what any of the numbers meant. It was a massive like 10 story building in busy Phoenix area too… was in a elevator full of 12 people going up with 3 food bags in my hand and then had 30 doctors/nurses running back and forth in the hallway while I try to navigate the room lol

Apartments are why I quit DoorDash… in AZ it got to a point where every other delivery was an apartment, even with the information in notes it was so hard to see signs especially at night. Took me hours for a few deliveries because of how lost I’d get

Just started doing this yesterday. Quit my job but wanted to do something to keep making money. I am a naturally high-strung person so having time limits already makes me super - nervous. Figured I wasn't the only person who was stressed out by dashing though. Thanks for sharing.

These people in large complexes purposely order delivery more than anyone else because they've decided it's too much trouble to get in and out of those mazes so they let a delivery driver do their dirty work for them. Then they don't tip or tip like crap. They forget gate codes. They won't leave good instructions to help find them. They won't answer their phone when you try to call them. Just don't do it. Don't accept these stupid orders from clowns like that and allow yourself to be disrespected. Let them go get their own food.

I've become an expert at filtering out large apartment complex deliveries. Decline all of that crap.

And they know it and they are the worst tippers

I never do apartments/hotels/businesses unless the tip is really good I move on and do a regular home

I moved to NC as top dasher and ended up with mental illness and deactivation. Delivering to apartments in NC will have you smoking pot, cigarettes and anxiety that feels like a buttplug up yours✨

Apts are the worst! Especially ones who don't have an address on building or if they do its not illuminated at night

I live in Texas where dam EVERY apartment complex has a gate code...and dam near EVERY customer doesn't give the gate code in the instructions. I'm sitting here like you go through that dam gate minimum twice a day probably, you can't remember to give it to me to give you YOuR stuff...whatever cold food it is then. there are times I just sit at the gate terminal waiting on the customer to see if they even realize I'm at there, and sometimes the gate just magically opens lol.

One thing that bothers me is, those customers who want their food dropped off on the door step. Really? On a dirty floor or mat? Come on loyal customers. Put a stand there off the floor so we can leave your food off the ground , uncontaminated and pet/thief proof.

Just a heads up that a video like this is leaking customer information which likely doesn’t abide by DoorDash policies. Now I know of a Tina B. around Temecula, CA that orders from BJ’s. I know what the front of their apartment looks like and know they live at an apartment complex with more than one gate (one of them being a main gate). Probably a lot more details that a stalker could get from this and it would suck if someone became a victim of DV or SA or larceny or even social engineering because of things like this. A criminal could literally find this person’s phone number online and call “on behalf” of DoorDash and give very specific details about that order to gain their trust, then claim that they are entitled to a refund and request financial information.

Wow I never get those high paying orders the most I get are one dollar a mile 😒 if I keep declining I won't end up doing anything 🤣

Jajajajajaj. Lol. Bruh... I went around in circles when you could've just met me at the gate? Ima just leave it by the dumpster. Some people who order food need to know that not everyone knows how to get to your apartment complex let alone no gate code provide, and it's at night 2am! Am I suppose to know where exactly you live. Also u pay Doordash and the merchant they get the bigger cut of the pie.
