Looks cool, sounds great 10/10

Could you affirm that this pedal is a direct clone of the Horizon PS?
I cannot because I don’t know the exact details of either circuit
Not a direct clone, but from waht i've seen it sounds the same with a better noise gate. i'm planning on getting one soon so i'll update when i can.
@@emokittie I was reading that in several forums, that the gate is better and does practically the same job as the PD at less than 1/3 of the value.
Hi, i thought coils were waxed then taped, waxing outside tape seems useless. I could be wrong, happened before a few times.
I thought so too, however, I also have been wrong before
How bout fake Rolex's or Omega's. You into those?
A circuit board inside a pickup? Where did I fall asleep, 1990? Are circuit boards common in pickups today?
You must not have heard of "active" pickups like EMG brand pickups. They require a 9 volt battery in the guitar to power them.
emg suck any ways
That explains alot. Pickups made by a company thats thats mostly whacks.
Likes to rip shit apart to see what makes it tick. Otherwise known as a non meth induced tweeker.
The fake EMG's are literally those cheap $20 actives you can buy off ebay/DHgate/Alibaba/etc. (at least they used to be that much). Some resellers rebrand them and sell them for 3x as much (i.e. Dragonfire) Sound wise, they're bitey and sound okay, but they hum, annoyingly loud. I've tried them and pretty much immediately replaced them with a $13 "Dual blade" pickup that looked like a dimebucker, which actually sounded decent. I actually liked that pickup.
I have a floor dual rail pickup from Amazon that is about the best sounding cheap pickup I’ve tried. More recently though I’ve been using guitar madness pickups from eBay and they have been pretty good with one exception
Unless the plastic covers are electrically conductive (doubt it) or have embedded magnetic particles (not likely) they would have zero effect in the tone. Ditto for the wax potting. The likely reason the pickups sound bad is poorly designed coils and a sub-optimal preamp circuit board.
You could try letting the 2nd pickup soak in a hot water bath for a couple hours to get the wax into all the voids. It looked pretty flaky like it was dipped and not soaked. The output impedance should be 10kOhms just as a reference
I may try that with the other one
It's funny that they go to all that trouble to make fake EMGs that sound like crap instead of just putting decent low-price passive pickups like GFS or something. I guess it's for the aesthetics, people want to see the EMG logo and look. I got a Chibson Explorer and the pickups were so bad that dropping in a $40 set of GFS Crunchy PAFs I had in the parts bin was a huge sound upgrade.
@@alsantangelo I’ve been using guitar madness pickups from eBay. Around $30 for a set and they are decent
Lol this kid is funny
I would try raising the pick ups to see if tone improves
I did and it helped but still wasn’t enough
Yeah bro this guitar, for what it is, definitely *looks* the business!
That is a very accurate description, also after some tweaking, it’s one of my best sounding guitars.
Raise those pickups up a little bit buddy; they are a country mile from those strings. Good work thought; keep on rock'n
I’ve had them up and down and thought I was in the sweet spot but now you have me second guessing myself lol
Why is it a Chibson? Gibson doesn’t have a Warlock model?
Some people seem to be using Chibson as "Chinese knock-off"
This
the Peavey sounded better before the Boost pedal
@@Lordbaccus you think so?
@@HCUSAGUITARS Yes = as to what I can hear from a compressed audio/video playback :) I liked the Peavey better on it's own = Hell NOW I want a 6505 3:) have a look at the Bass guitar build foto video I put up^^ if you get bored = I restore old guitars in my spare time

is this the model sold by Rock Guitars Club? i love that color. also have you ever tried the Gotoh 1996t trem? ive read and heard they are great but that in some guitars they don't just drop right in and you need to drill drill the post holes deeper and slightly bigger , in any case thats a wicked color and body shape
@@mattdylan664 I have indeed used a Gotoh 1996, check out some of my other videos. I was trying to stay “budget” if I could. That’s probably going to change on this one soon lol.
Also, I don’t remember the seller. Go to eBay, search warlock guitar
I've found that the Bill Lawrence 500XLs are pretty good at boosting the highs, you can find those used for not too much.
Good idea, thanks!
The original Dimebag bridge pickup before Duncan made the Dimebucker
Loving the content man keep it up
Appreciate it!
Still working on the Chinese warlock. Still haven’t found the right metal pickups for it though.
@HCUSAGUITARS do you know if there is a place to get that model of Leo Jaymz kit left handed? I can't even find a righty for that matter in that shape and single humbucker layout. Also, if you are ever looking to do another kit video, I'd love to see a Kahler retrofit onto one of the DIY kits that has a stop-piece or crappy fulcrum bridge standard.
@@KellKheraptis I do not, maybe try emailing Leo jaymz?
@@HCUSAGUITARS will do 🤘

The first one had an ebony fingerboard. This one has the rosewood. The ebony looked better

Love that red, en the black out lines its perfect
Check out the videos where I repainted it
Is the neck straight? Does it have a real maple cap? Hope you have loads of fun playing it!!
@@toddkalbfeld neck straight, some kind of cap on it looking from pickup cavity, plays great
Is that a real 1/2" maple cap or just veneer? With a pretty maple cap, a burst of your favorite color is best! Have Fun!!
Super thin veneer
I've bought this guitar and I have a big problem keeping it in tune. If I use the Floyd... it's gone! 😢
@@danutzzz20 yeah the Floyd is hit or miss on these. I don’t use mine much so it’s not been an issue. I’m still going to upgrade mine at some point.
Hello sir I hope this email finds you well. I am a SEO Expert freelancer with 5 years of experience. I believe I can bring great value to your TH-cam Channel.
What ever you do to it you are still left with a counterfeit guitar, spending hundred's of pounds on it seems like stupidity to me, if you want a cheaper but real Gibson then buy a Les Paul Studio.
I have less than $300 in it total, way less than a studio
This is just a quick video checking out some gear from Temu. This isnt really a review or tone test, just checking out some budget options.
I’ve been reviewing the no name sub 20$ pedals from Temu they aren’t terrible. Certainly more than what you pay for but nowhere near boss, mxr, some of them might beat Behringer
Thanks man definitely only looking for the cheapest gear myself
May not be the cheapest, but definitely lower cost and great bang for the buck. Any Joyo product I’ve ever used has been decent. Thanks for watching and great feedback!
@@HCUSAGUITARS bang bang!! Most definitely bang for buck
I own a joyo vintage overdrive and a Ibabanez TS. Joyo makes great stuff. I'm gonna get hate for this but I prefer the joyo.
Ibanez...English not so good...
I love the color!
Thanks!
Nice guitar but that SD pickup doesn't sound good at all. The Chibson pickup sounds much fuller and warmer by a wide margin. The SD is "ear stabbing" and thin. Just my opinion
Yes it’s been replaced, bad recording didn’t help though
😂😊
I've been eyeballing this exact guitar on eBay, assuming I would be replacing the pickups and most of the hardware, but really I just want a Warlock shape and that purple looked amazing. Can't deal with the prices on the "real" ones. But what's the neck like, fat or thin? I have a couple of Firefly guitars and the necks are beasts.
Not the thinnest ever, but I would call it thin
Sick guitar!
Thanks
The Chibson serial number always starts with 01716, mine does too
I think that’s the guitar they got their hands on to make copies of lol
Late last year, I took delivery of what has become one of my top two guitars: A Bullfighter copy of a Jackson Soloist. It doesn't say that, of course, but it replicates the overall body shape and size of the Soloist, and it's an actual neck-through axe, also like a Soloist. It BY NO MEANS replicates the feel of the Jackson Speed neck profile or the conical ("compound") radius fretboard. It doesn't even try to. That said, it somehow fits my fretting hand so well that locking into playing it is as effortless as doing it with my absolute favorite guitar -- a 2003 Schecter C-1 Élite with an Ultra-Access neck joint that feels like a neck-through -- yet the cheap axe adds a Floyd Rose into the equation, something the hard-tailed Schecter just can't do. With the knock-off being this good, do I even need to experience an actual Soloist? If I were gigging, the answer would likely be "Yes!", but as things are, guitars are indulgences, not investments. I would likely do better to keep the money or at least to get a guitar very unlike my other guitars, like a Mosrite-style anti-Strat ... and to sell off something to make room!
That warlock is so damn beautiful. I would seriously consider trading my 2001 NJ warlock trans flame blue for that bad boy if it wasn’t so sentimental
Just get one from eBay, cheap and you will have both.
Damn thats a beautiful guitar, what i wish i could find out is if the Jackson branded high output pick ups in these Kelley's are different than the ones that come in the entry level models like the JS11 and JS22 and JS32 and if those are al the same pick up or each different? i saw on reverb they are taking pre orders for the X Series KEX KELLY Guitar in Deep Purple Metallic and it looks bad ass! kick ass channel btw subbed!
Thanks! I think they are all same pickups but I could be wrong. They sounded great in v shaped guitars, but the Kelly needs brighter.
What are you using to get this sound? I heard pod go I think?
Yes pod go on this one, I think the revv purple model
Looks really cool!
Thanks!
@@HCUSAGUITARS I've been wanting to try the Roth spray paints for a while. It looks like the purple covers well. I dabble with reviving old guitars and some kit guitars as well. I've been doing custom paint on cars for years and I find it relaxing to do guitars now later in life. You don't have to have a whole garage to build a guitar like cars require and guitars are rewarding when they are finished. Keep up the good vids!
@@anthonyhaney4026 the Roth paints are nice, I wasn’t sure at first but am convinced now, I’m planning my next paint job and want to use other Roth colors. Thanks for watching!
