agree. the panels made this yacht looked cheap.

That's great until a panel has to be replaced due to age or malfunction. I agree it's not a clean looking as the built in panels but due to heating and maintenance, I would never buy a system that can't be worked on easily.

they are showing up as being available on the united yacht sales website.

Are you looking for a zero CO2 emission cats? What about hybrids?

@@jeffh3984 That's how I found them too but when I spoke with someone there, he expressed concern about Silent Yachts. And, if you think about it, Silent Yachts is a young company. I'm sure the battery and electric technology they are using is off the shelf stuff like Victron which anybody has access to. So, if I'm going to make a large purchase, I'd rather put my money towards a more reputable ship builder that has a history producing yachts and is now doing solar too. Sunreef looks good to me.

Hi - I´m Michael Köhler, CEO of Silent Yachts - we stopped the dealership of United Yachts, as they did not perform as contractually agreed. Normal procedure if you want a whole continent as exclusive territory, yoiu should be able to sell at least one boat. The new US-distributor sold already 8 yachts, 2 of them already delivered .... Regarding Sunreef - they build nice boats, there is no doubt about it. But it is a mere fact, that we delivered several times more boats that are electrically powered and that generate most of the required power by solar. One of our yachts crossed the Atlantic Ocean on solar - already more than 3 years ago .... We have right now 15 yachts under construction - all of them electrically powered. We launched our first purely solar powered yacht in 2009 - please compare this to any other brand on the market.

While being first in anything has its fame claims, tell me, are you the engineer who came up with the solar yacht idea? Or are you the marketer or finance guy? Did you put together the technology that no one else has which sets your electric yachts apart from others? How is VW connected with you if at all? Even if you have sold more electric yachts currently, what are your barriers of entry in technology that prevent other yacht builders from also building and selling electric yachts tomorrow and thereafter? Why wouldn't I buy a Sunreef(Lagoon, etc.) that already has years of experience building excellent yachts with the associated warranties and such that are now produced with electric and solar options? Kudos to you for having developed a product and a Brand that has seemingly growing demand. I look forward to the next few years as your customers are able to share their experience online with their Silent Yacht ownership and associated service. Lastly, and I hope you don't take my questions as out of line but if I am going to part with millions of dollars of my money, I want to know what's under the hood in detail and not just claims.

Perhaps some customer feedback will fix the little things. There is a lot to like, but I would choose the Fountaine Pajot 44 over it. Now if they changed a few things and I compared them side by side I don't know which I would pick .
